If anyone ever wondered how you can paint the glow of a lightsabre without it affecting the image of the lightsabre... who'd have though just put some tape in the spot where the lightsabre goes?? AWESOME, amazingly simple solutions to your mastery of technique. The time lapse is great. everytime I think you're done, you add another layer and it just comes more and more to life. To someone in the industry or some other artist, maybe it's just comix 101, but to the great unwashed like myself it is illuminating.

I love this video! First thanks for being so brave to show the mess. My small Studio looks the same since we had a small fire at christmas eve 2019 and the whole family had to live in there for a few months lol. It's so distracting but also it eats up time to bring it on order. Also i saw your little kids place there! This is such a great idea. Gotta free up a day or 2 to bring all this in order, rearrage the stuff and also make my kids a corner so they can be with me when i work there! I feel stupid not having done that earlier! That will even make it possible to watch them and work. Time i usually can't work! Heroes initiative is great! Thanks for the Video. Really motivates me to switch up my work place!
Oh man, hope this past Christmas was somewhat better than 2019 (all things considering) My daughter loves her little work area and goes nuts for it anytime she visits my studio
Yeah it was! Even the 2019 one wasn't so bad. Everybody was healthy thanks to the fire alarms so it was luck not bad luck i guess. Actually sitting on my comouter right now figuring out how to set everything up in a 3D program to start redoing the room at the weekend lol

Great video! I got sick back in October of 2019 and have been off work for over a year trying to find a treatment plan that works. Fortunately, I have disability benefits through work. But even so, it's been extremely stressful. I can't and don't want to imagine what the last year would have been like without that safety net. The Hero Initiative is a fantastic organization. It's awesome to see you promote and contribute to their cause! The pieces are beautiful by the way!! I am a long time attendee of FanExpo in Toronto and always make a point to swing by the Hero Initiative booth and pick something up. Again, great organization!
OH man, yeah we're pretty lucky here in Canada. I can't even imagine what it would be like to live down south. Hero is probably needed now more than ever. Hope you're feeling better these days!

Hey I really appreciate your look out on healthcare here. My wife is a brittle asthmatic and myself a brittle diabetic, so healthcare is a huge deal. One of the things that's made sacrificing to make comics very very hard. Still hope to break through some day.
Hey Hunter, yeah it's tough. I'm very fortunate to be in Canada. Our taxes are high but the health care system for all it's faults is still amazing to have. I will say this comic hill is worth the climb. Bumps and bruises will occur along the way lol

Every now and then the music makes it a bit hard to hear your dialogue. But really loving the vlog style.

@@waihi1736 Thanks! Honestly probably not but you never know. While the live interaction is great, I just didn't feel as creatively fulfilled as when I make and edit these kinda videos. These feel closer to what it's like making comics since I'm telling a story, if that makes any sense.

Awesome drawings!! Can you show us your filming setup especially the tripod overlooking your drawing session? Planning to my own youtube channel with my drawing sessions and talk about comic book artist of the now and the past and how you can learn from them.
Hmm, I didn't think about that as I wasn't sure it would be of interest but this makes sense. Personally I watch a lot of film/ cinematography/ photography youtubers to figure this all out, but you may be on to something.
@@FrancisManapulArt I am also watching a few youtube editors how to cut film or content for youtube and how to set up lighting but none are for setting up for drawing...
This is why I'm scared to do certain activities like snowboarding, what if I injured my hand/arm? Super cool that you're putting time towards helping others, the pictures turned out great! Also, loved the pacing with the dialogue and music.
Thanks so much, I used to snowboard a lot but time and injury deterred me lol but to be honest I'm not suuuper careful, I find that I get hurt more often when I'm too worried.
Heartbreaking i definitely agree.. I'm new to comics and people ask me if I wanted to do comics, but I always say if I do, it'll be a side gig 👍🏾 comics is cool...just not a good career opportunity IMO 😅
Yeah it's definitely a tough industry, but all that aside comics has been extremely good to me and I owe everything I have and have been able to do because of it. Even though the discrepancy is there, it is possible to make a very good living at it. So I wouldn't count it out too much ;)
