Thanks for the video. Just changed fuel pump on a brand new 2007 with 226,000 miles. Was hard-starting when warm... almost positive this will fix it.
For others, it hard started when warm. Did the "easy test" by cycling ignition from off to run 2 - 3 times before trying to start and it would ALWAYS start right away. Without doing that, 10-second crank to start at least... maybe longer. Also threw erratic misfire codes, never consistent cylinder-specific codes but always a "general" misfire code. Did the basic stuff and the codes persisted. South Florida, 90*++ heat.
Took about an hour to swap the fuel pump. Very easy.

2008 odyssey here: Mine didn't have the fp relay in the location shown, however behind fuse door in that location pulled 15 amp fuse for fp. turned the car over for about 10 seconds with no start.
Removed neg battery. When disconnecting the fuel line at pump there was ALOT more pressure than expected, had rag covering fuel didn't really go anywhere except in the fuel pump area. could hear pressure escape for a good 5 seconds. Maybe should have opened fuel fill cap? I ordered the delphi $203 full assembly. The seal on the delphi unit looked cheap compared to the original one but used it anyway. kinda tricky with that seal to not get it folded over, good tip in this video for that. Mine seems fixed. The issue was 50/50 sometimes start right up like normal, sometimes crank and crank and eventually start if you depressed gas pedal or stopped cranking and tried again. 160K miles. got to have the spanner tool for this vehicle imo. Thanks for the video, it helped alot.

solorsix yeah you should of removed the gas cap to relieve pressure. I pulled the fuse the night before doing the job also.

@@MrRangerZr1 Thanks for the reply. I thought about up and changing the map sensor first. I knew it wasn't air filter or battery though. I will update if it turns out the fuel pump assy was not the cause, however, the vehicle has not had the starting issue since changing the fp assy. I will also add to maybe help anyone else that the starting issue went on for about a month and while maybe 40% be hard to start shortly after running, it would 60% do it after sitting overnight. Another thing I noticed after replacement was key on, new fp would run for maybe 2-3 sec and stop, until car start. The original one, key on, would run way longer and the times varied, like sometimes 10 seconds. It would help with starting if you waited key on. New fp, just jump in and start right up.

2011 odyssey recently started taking longer to start.. sometimes start good sometimes takes longer to turn over.. battery charge shows at 14v. Alternator was replaced 40k miles ago. I have vcm muzzler and occasionally drive it like a race car bc running late to work. Averaging 20 mpg. Performance of the van seems the same. However this occasional longer starts makes me wonder if I need to change the fuel pump or the regulator or filter… If I was to do that which one would you suggest to start with? Should I just go ahead and replace the whole assembly? Bc it seems like adding all the parts together, pump, regulator and filter it’d come up at the same price as the whole fuel pump assembly, right?
