    Just an FYI. I have a 2008 that I had to replace the fuel pump. You can no longer find new Honda fuel pumps for those things. I tried 3 sites...all recommended by an Odyssey forum...none had them in stock, none had them to be able to back order. I can only assume Honda stopped making them because of the ages of the vehicles.

    I have a 2007 Honda Odyssey and am having trouble at the same place you seemed to have trouble (ie getting the top part of the pump to seat). It feels like the float is catching on something and not letting the rest of the pump to seat. You mentioned an internal fuel line and I have heard someone else mention an anti-sloshing plate. Your video cuts off and then shows you seating it. How did you wiggle it to get it to seat properly?

      Hi Anoj, Yes your fuel pump is under your carpet not sure where but if you pull the carpet back I am sure you will see it. Here is a link to your fuel pump click on the bottom image. www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/oem-parts/honda-module-assembly-fuel-pump-17045s9va00 You can do it save yourself a bunch of money.

    Great video. My 09 odyssey cranks but no start. No engine codes. I have spark and Injector pulse. I'm leaning to wars this also. My fuel pressure is about 57psi. However I noticed it bleeds down pretty fast. Even if I cycle the key it won't start. Any ideas? Fueled up in virginia and Delaware on my way back to NY last week. 93 octane. Parked for 4 days and won't start since. Thanks

    • @fixitjohn
      @fixitjohn  3 роки тому +1

      Hi Justin, how many miles do you have on it. Sounds like the fuel pump if the fuel pressure bleeds off the pressure regulator, is bad. That will make the pump work even harder. It is not that hard to replace the pump. Good luck and, thanks for watching.

      @@fixitjohn hey John. Sorry I took so long to reply. So I have 103k miles. I checked cranking fuel pressure is at 61psi. Left it for 3 hours and only about a 2 psi drop over the 3 hours.

      @@justinrampersaud1948 Hi Justin, If you are getting that much pressure from your fuel pump, it should still start. Was it running rough it may be the EGR valve? Sometimes it will run rough, and sometimes it won't start at all. I have had that issue. You can take it off and clean it. I hope this helps.

      You could take the rubber fuel line off at the firewall. I point that out in the video but before you do that check your fuses again and check your fuel relay. I hope 🙏 this helps.

    Hi John: my issue is my 2005 odyssey runs but then as the temperature of the engine gets hotter, the car will suddenly die. and i have to have wait until it cools down before i can move the car. I thought it would be the egr valve but you would get a code with that. Pull your fuel line do you have a pressure gauge. At the back of the fire wall.

    • @fixitjohn
      @fixitjohn  Рік тому

      I would be leaning towards a fuel issue. I don’t believe you will get any codes if the car runs out of fuel. I would think a fuel pump problem. I hope this helps. Good luck.

    • @fixitjohn

      The arm on the gauge in the tank it has little like gold plates that measures the fuel in the tank. I would bet that your are getting a faulty reading from that.

    2007 ODDESSAY Just replaced my fuel pump DIDN'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING WITH THE FUSES OR RELAY ! JUST DISCONNECT THE BATTERY AND FUSES AND RELAY NEUTRAL ! Pump removed and new pump looked like it had.a different regulator but new pump supposed to be for 2005 - 2010 so went ahead and put in and works fine ! Didn't have to remove both seats just one on driver's side and didn't remove all the carpet ! After removing seat and piece of plastic holding down carpet pulled away carpet to clear pump cover and used gorilla tape to hold away carpet onto remaining seat . Why remove relay ?or fuse ? No battery no power !

    There is no fuelpump relay in my 2008 Odyssey only a 15 amp fuse. There was no place in the inside driver side fuse panel box. Without any further instructions I will remove the negative Battery terminal and secure it away from any metal frame near. Remove fuel cap turn engine till all fuel out of lines. And proceed as instructed earlier by mechanic that didnt mention there were no Fuel pump Relay as shown on this video Thanks Ken Duff. Inventor in Raleigh County . Glen Morgan W.Va. 25813
