  • This class is a good opportunity for beginners to become familiar with the topics of sampling and interpreting lab results, to ask questions of an HMS with lab experience and to discuss some of the common pitfalls encountered with samples and laboratory data. Topics include: types of sampling (representative / authoritative), preparation for sampling, sample preservation, chain of custody, reviewing analytical data as compared to hazardous waste characteristics, common pitfalls in sampling and interpretation of data, generator's responsibility vs. regulatory responsibility, EPA sampling methods and laboratory procedures. Along with the lecture, there will be some case study examples and question/answer exercises designed to increase audience interaction and understanding of the subject matter.
