They totally love each other, he always wanted to protect her, they loved each other hey didn't realize it though, they were def a couple. When Angie said goodbye Clara's boyfriend he smiled and looked at her, and when she was on the computer Angie said they he said that he was her boyfriend, and in the Christmas episode in the beginning he was fine with pretending to be her boyfriend. They totally love each other.

He loved clara, its so bluntly obvious, but he does love River too, just in different ways. And I love River and Clara.
When it comes to the TARDIS key it took three adventures before Rose got a key, and several adventures before Martha, Donna or Amy/Rory got keys. Clara got one on the first adventure when she wasn’t even an official companion.
I wish Eleven and Clara had another season together, or that she is gone in "Deep Breathing" as both had better chemistry that Capaldi and Danny Pink.

These two always manage to make me cry, because of how beautiful their relationship is and how sad at the same time. She really is perfect for him, but I guess that happens when you sacrifice all you are to save him by jumping into his own time stream, knowing every incarnation of him, and even knowing his deepest, darkest secret.

I really love Clara, because she's the first companion I personally can relate to! She's a lot like myself and even if her time with 11 was only short (which I'm pretty upset about since they were brilliant together), I still look forward to her time with 12 which I'm sure will be equally good!!
To all those who hate on Whouffle due to the Doctors marriage to River and say he is cheating, whatsoever, I can say that the legitimacy of their marriage is questionable since it took place in an aborted timeline that even River has said was irrelevant to the real world, when she tells Amy not to feel guilty about killing Madame Kovarian since it never happened due to the timeline's negation. And even if you say their marriage is real, despite the argument I listed before, he and River seem to have an open relationship, as the Doctor is also married to Queen Elizabeth I and Marilyn Monroe, and River once mentioned having dated a Nestene duplicate.
Joe Li - The Doctor and River were not really married. Moffat said so. River married the robot replica of the Doctor.

I absolutely love this couple, the way they hug, they way he reacts to her, it's all so beautiful and it's obvious the Doctor's feelings for Clara are much more than his other companions. Except maybe Rose.

It was the chemistry between Smith and Coleman that brought me back into the fold. I got one half of a season with my favorite Doctor and my favorite companion. Don't get me wrong, I've loved Capaldi and Tennant and all the companions including River Song and Bill... but for me Eleven and Clara are still out there together somewhere. Because that's where they belong.
And he puts on (what looks) his best bow tie. I so ship it 😍❤️💖

Peter Capaldi and Jenna Coleman have a great off screen relationship. Better than Matt Smith had with Jenna. On the other hand, Eleven and Clara had a great on screen chemistry, but Twelve and Clara were like father/daughter. I don't understand why some people 'ship Twelve/Clara.

First of all River sucks. I think 10 belongs with Rose, and Clara with 11. I honestly think Clara is one of the best companions of all time. It kind of sucks that The Whouffle might not happen anymore but, what can you do? The Doctor will never be the same and neither the companions. They should just end it if its the "true love wins" scenario for the show... who knows?

Frankly, while I don't outright 'ship the Doc and Clara, she's been the only companion in the revival era of the show who I found to be at least somewhat believable as his potential love interest (well, River too, but she's an unusual case). In all previous cases, the romance angle just felt forced and often even annoying. Now, with Clara, I could actually understand what he might see in her, especially if you consider his own personality in general and the Eleventh's (at that point) in particular. She doesn't swoon over him and declare him a demigod, she treats him naturally, she's critical of him even though she grows to like him. She's smart, loyal, caring and compassionate, but also independent-minded, gutsy and has her fair share of flaws and stubborn character tics. She's very human, and overall, she just tries to be nice to others, without resorting to complaining at the first opportunity. Love comes in many forms, and if anything, I think the Eleventh and Clara have a deep platonic friendship. The Doc feels indebted to her after all the things she's done to protect him and she shows a similar kind of gratitude, even if she's the one with a bit of a crush on him (at times). I do think they love each other, but there's nothing inherently romantic between the two of them, hints of Clara's later crush aside. They're just very good friends and any romance that could spring up between the two of them takes a back seat to the more detached (but heartfelt) love they share together. To be honest, I like that. Love often doesn't end in romance and it doesn't need to. But it can create beautiful friendships of people who mean the world to each other. That might ultimately be the point of the Doc's and Clara's relationship so far. And it will probably mature further once she starts going on adventures with the Twelfth.

I realize this is a Clara and Eleven ship video, but I personally think a case can be made for Clara and Twelve, too. Because Twelve is jealous of the way other men look at her (Danny Pink, Robin Hood, etc.), she flat out refuses to have her mind wiped like Donna, he memorized her face enough to call the bluff of a Zygon who was using it, she passed the veil test even after he regenerated and balked at the idea that he wasn’t her boyfriend, oh and the kicker, he suffered his own personal nightmare for four and a half billion years to get her back from the dead. Duty of care? I don’t buy it. He was madly and completely in love with her but couldn’t bring himself to say it for fear of rejection because of his new, older face. Just my opinion, but I don’t think their love stopped when Smith’s Doctor left.

One of my favorites. It was obvious the doctor was madly in love with Clara. Even when the doctor regenerated to 12, at one point he says, "I'm not your boyfriend, Clara." She responds, "I never said you were." He states, "I didn't say the mistake was yours."
