The tendency for Rebel starfighters to resemble alphabetical characters is unsettling. Imagine a squadron of fighters that could be read out as "F**k Imperial. scum". That's be hilarious but weird.
I've been trying to develop an idea with building a series of Star Wars models. "What if Earth had these fighters? and which branch would have them?" (being Australian We only have Army Navy and Airforce) so this series is brilliant for my idea. I have started with the Snowspeeder and figured it would belong to either Army Aviation or Army Amoured Corps as a Light Armoured Vehicle. I also thought of a diorama battle called "EMU WAR 2" Australia is big on the concept of Humanity first. Down with the EMU EMPIRE!!!!!🤣once we have liberated ourselves from the Emus we can join the fight against the Dolphins 😎
Please do Rebel Capitol Ships next! I gotta hear about those Mon Calamari Cruisers, the CR90, and the Neb-B (possibly even a bit about the Starhawk if anything new's come out)!
Starfortress mimics Strategic Bombers. While the bomb bay is terribly optimized, strategic bombers are not something what you would use against enemy ships. We have attackers / multiroles for this reason
The T-Wing Bomber you are talking about, it's an improvised Bomber, it's meant to haul different things around. Interesting note, they needed a Bombervthat can drop 1000 proton bombs instantly onto a weak point to destroy a Battleship, that should tell you something.
They shoulda had a suicidal droid fly that thing and loaded it up full of high explosives and made the shields and engine very good so it could be used as a great kamikaze ship... since it apparently sucks at just about everything else including existing and just flying
The entire T wing bomber was an absolute mess. Hauling over a thousand bombs with no armor in a tight formation? What do you expect? A single laser cannon shot could take out an entire fleet because of the chain reaction exploding. Oh and did I forget to mention that those thing were slower than an AT-AT making its way across the battlefield? Even with their transport fleet if one tie fighter managed to get to the bombers they'd all be dead. A fleet of rebel Y wings would've been perfect for this job.
What's funny is that in Legends both the A-Wing and V-Wing came after the Battle of Yavin where the new canon they come both come before the Battle of Yavin
Allen, Great video but I'm wondering why in all your videos pertaining to the fighters You've never done anything about Baron Soontar Fel and the 181st. Would love to see one about that
Mm-kay, my suggestion, after covering the Empire, CIS, and Republic, is to cover other factions' starfighters in legends in one ep.: Chiss clawcraft, coralskipper, starviper, z-95, skipray blastboat, (suggestions); something new.
The way I would have emplyed the x wings would be to come out of hyperspace near a Imperial capital ship attack it and just as the ties were launched i would jump the x wings out causind mass amounts of damage. Then just rinse and repeat at iregular intervals before they could repair all the damage so that the damage would just keep piling up. This would Force the Imperials to fly a cap around the ship constantly diverting their resources and making them easy to be picked off one by one
@@NightRaven-lh1bf I never said it was a good fighter though, it's essentially an assault craft and though the Rotating canopy is over thought it usually has a few escorts fighters to support it. So long as the escort fighters aren't shot down and a successful attack run can be completed the imperials in the ship being attacked will be shitting their pants before ultimately being engulfed in flames or being sucked into space. I would have liked to see more of both the TIE Defender and B Wing though because I like both and don't have a bias when it comes to ships as long as they don't suck so bad they can't do what they were designed to do before getting shot down by uglies.

I really hate how much Rebels fucked up the Starfighter design timeline of the galactic civil war and now we have every major Starfighter from both sides of the galactic civil war existing before A New Hope, I find this to be a running problem with the team behind Clone Wars and Rebels, shoving a recognisable design into their shows whether it makes sense for that design to appear where it does or not, an example from Clone Wars would be how ubiquitous the Venator is in the first seasons of the show especially considering the show starts only two months after the beginning of The Clone Wars, now the appearance of the Venator doesn't seem like that big a deal until you think about it and realise there is no way the Venators could have begun production until the Clone Wars had begun it's one thing hiding an army of clones on an out-of-the-way planet on the edge of known space it's another thing for a shipyard in the core worlds to hide an entire fleet of battle carriers which up until the beginning of the Clone Wars would have been highly illegal to produce, which is why the original Clone Wars multimedia project's timeline on the construction of the Venators makes so much more sense they begin construction around the start of the war and don't become widespread until about halfway through the war

The ki 43 was far more maneuverable, however the p40 was faster, better armament, and was a lot more durable like a Tie vs X wing.
Talk about all the species that can have children with each other and what the kids look like.
When you get to the Starfortress, it's role is to kill it's crew…
NightRaven 1901 yeah I know.
I love these technical type videos.
And Alen's wardrobe, I mean hot damn!
TIE fighter: F-5
X-Wing: F-15C (E model is post rebellion)
Y-Wing: F-4 (obviously)
U-wing: Blackhawk
A-wing: F-35 (speed, agility, ECM)
What's funny is that in Legends both the A-Wing and V-Wing came after the Battle of Yavin where the new canon they come both come before the Battle of Yavin
You guys should do the Old Republic starfighters next, its a pretty underrated era imo
Yeah the old republic era was badass with Jace Malcolm, Darth Revan, etc etc
Excellent video/review!!
Keep them coming👍☯️👍
Allen,
Great video but I'm wondering why in all your videos pertaining to the fighters You've never done anything about Baron Soontar Fel and the 181st.
Great series
One of my favorite fighters used in limited numbers by the alliance was the T-Wing.
Liked and enjoyed watching this.
Yes, do one of Rebel Capital Ships.
Do one on the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet, the Vaigri, Galactic Republic, Sith Empire, and the First Order.
Rebel freighter’s, corvettes, frigate’s, and capital ships sounds good.
Capitol ships would be cool. I'd love to see 10 minute videos for every ship as well.
01:21 I love it
I love how at 6:40 he says blt y-wing instead of btl
The way I would have emplyed the x wings would be to come out of hyperspace near a Imperial capital ship attack it and just as the ties were launched i would jump the x wings out causind mass amounts of damage. Then just rinse and repeat at iregular intervals before they could repair all the damage so that the damage would just keep piling up. This would Force the Imperials to fly a cap around the ship constantly diverting their resources and making them easy to be picked off one by one
The B Wing is awesome. U CAN'T CHANGE MY MIND!
Great series. Can y'all do a video on expanded universe ships such as the outsider, ebon hawk, basilisk war droid. Ect.?
Love star wars
Do imperial capitalships or stardighters next
Understand the role of each Galactic Republic starfighter
I know this is mainly a Star Wars Channel however I wish they would checkout Stargates ships, fleets, weapons and gear.
Imagine what Thrawn and Vader could have done with the A-Wing.
If only more resources were given over to the fighters like Vader wanted
@@alanmike6883 I know right? One would think that a Grand Admiral and the Emperor's right hand man would have enough pull to fund an advanced Starfighter Corps.
@@UncleMikeDrop
And if they had ironically the empire would've won...
I would like to see some republic starships next.
Hey, why not try the Republic line of starfighters? Like the T-Wing, the ARC-170, the BTL-B Y-Wing, the V-Wings, and the V-19 Torrents. Just a suggestion. Thanks for listening, your friend and fan, Shock Trooper T.V.
What does everyone think of the firepower upgrade the B-Wing got in Rebels vs the Legends version
They are no different
@@lancer737 the Legends version did not have the combining beam weapon that Rebels showed. All of its weapons were typical blaster and laser cannons
@@christophernemeth421 The Legends version had the ability to carry multiple different weapons including a Turbo Laser. They are practically the same.
@@christophernemeth421 You are talking about a prototype that's known as a "Blade Wing".
No, they had mixes between 1 single heavy laser cannon two ion cannons and 5 blasters, or three ion cannons three laser cannons, or Two Ion Cannons, 3-5 blaster cannons and a Turbo Laser Cannon. They all carried 18 Concussion missiles, or 12 Proton Torpedos, or 6 Proton Rockets, or 2-4 Proton Bombs.
Capital ship video would be awesome.
I would think that it'd easier for you guys to do all of one faction at once, so stay with Rebels,
Threw some shade at the F35 there!!
That's alright. It sucks.
"Always aim for the cockpit"
Hmm... My impression was always that the B-wing was a better dogfight fighter than the Y-wing (being faster and having a wider array of weapons), though obviously still inferior to true fighters. Maybe it just always looked more nimble to me?
Sooo... Is year 2 of the clone wars done or did you just stop that series cuz its one of my favorites
A wing: do everything
B wing: do everything
X wing: do everything
Y wing: do everything
Resistance Bombers: do nothing
Great video
Me thinks that someone at Gen Tech has read “Alphabet Squadron” recently. 😆
All kidding aside, the description, pros & cons were presented quite well.
The X wing is essentially the P51 or Corsair, the Y wing is the B 25
The Tie Fighter? A Bf 109 or Zero.
Capital ships for both factions where they were manufactured from and their sole purpose? Please and thank you
Oi!!! There a reason you haven't covered Kar Vastor & his Akk Guards with their vibro shields? Nobody's talking about the summer time war described in the novel" Shatterpoint "
I always liked the Hoth snow speeder, could you do a video about that?
X wing= Original intended to replace the Z95 and ARC170 for the Imperial fleet, later rejected by the Imperial High Command due to the "quantity over quality" doctrine. Now end up as the best multirole fighter for the Rebellion.
Y wing= Light bomber/ heavy fighter. A CIS's worst nightmare, countless of CIS warships are either destroyed by Venators and Y wings. Can be potentially equipped with volleys of buzz droid missiles to swat out Imperial TIE fighter squadron. Retired by the Imperial fleet due to the "quantity over quality" doctrine.
U wing= A cheap alternative to the LAAT gunships of the clone wars.
A wing= Made to replace the Delta 7 and ETA 2 Jedi Starfighters,, unfortunately the Jedi's were wiped out due to Order 66. The Imperial have some A wings for evaluation purposes but did not adopted it due to "quantity over quality" doctrine.
How about Understanding the role of each CIS Starfighter?
Some of the things you said about the Y wing aren't congruent with the N64 Rouge Squadron descriptions.
Do a series on ground vehicles
Loving the new series!
I wouldn't agree with the U-wing's 8 troop capacity to be "large" in any sense of the word.
Make a 10 great features of the aclamator or victory.
10:00 Oh that looks great!! Japanese B-wings~ XD
UNSC, and maybe airspeeders like the v-wing and snow speeder
I understand the Rebel Alliance didn’t have resources to acquire capital ships but they could’ve easily mass produce parts for their fighters. I would like Disney to dedicate a book to the logistics of the RA Navy.
Do one with the Empire, and maybe a Capital ship one of both empire and the alliance
I’ve gotta admit: I’ve been a Y-Wing fan since 1977.
Please do a video about Ezra what happened to him and if he is going to appear in the IX episode!
You missed the E-Wing to. But cool video.
yes do also capital ships
Padme was a band maiden not the Queen right? Why did the name stick...
Ben Padme was the Queen, Queen Padme Amidala.
@@solowingborders3239 in episode one the Queen asks padme to clean d2d2
Ben Uh, you do know it's revealed when they meet the gungans prior to the climax that Padme used a hand maid as a decoy?
@@solowingborders3239 the handmaid introduced herself to anakin as padme
Ben Yeah, that is Padme; the "Queen" is really a decoy. Padme and the maid swapped places before leaving Naboo to fool the Trade Federation and ensure her safety.
4:58 Correction: "reverting into *realspace* "
Did he already cover Slave-1 ?
Rebel Alliance Capital ships. They're very interesting in that they don't seem very offensive.
Do Rebel Alliance Capital Ships next please :)
what bomber did the NR use duringe the timo of the force awakens?
Thanks
Hi Alan long time no see where you been?
There are 3 main types of Rebel starfighter: Fighter, Bomber, Interceptor. The 3 might get a sub category
I say the x-wing vs tie fighter is more like a p40 Warhawk vs Ki 43 hayabusa (Allied codename: Oscar). The ki 43 was far more maneuverable, however the p40 was faster, better armament, and was a lot more durable like a Tie vs X wing. Also the Ki 43 guns are close together like a tie fighter and both craft were fragile, for the tie fighter it was lacking of shields and for the Hayabusa it was the lack of self sealing fuel tanks and amour. The P40 and X wing on the other hand, while not being more maneuverable than their imperial counterparts, are faster, better armament, armament which is spread apart, easy to fly, and are very durable
I kinda hate that they took something as advanced as the A-Wing and decided that the Rebellion totally had it out of nowhere prior to Yavin.
Act like to see you do Rebel Alliance Capital ships
Rebels had the best fighters while the Empire had the best capital ships. I hope you talk about the Zann Consortium and the ships they used.
Zanns units were so over powered in empire at war I don’t remember the names of the ships it’s been so long but my favorite 2 was the one that looks like a giant B wing and fired missile. The other one was the double barreled capital ship
U forgot to add how good of a ram the front of the A wing was
Could you do old republic ships
Why is it rebel star fighters have a letter in their name like Y Wing or X Wing.
Liam Walsh
Because they're shaped like an A, Y, X, etc.
@@WizardPJfan Would it be a Z or a N wing? A I or a H wing?
colin o I think there are 26 rebel fighters (A to Z).
colin o
On the N or Z-wing, they don't exist and on the A, I and H-wing, they all have a different shape.
I advise looking on Wookiepedia or another star wars site.
@@WizardPJfan K thanks
Allen you're the shit bro humanity first!!!!
