The Templin Institute acting like an in-universe databanks/archives for the myriad of universes they touch on is one of this channel's more unique and endearing elements that I really adore.
Well, it depends on the time period, the period this video is talking about is one where the majority of force users have been killed off, thus the force became more legend than fact. In older and ancient periods in Star Wars though, force users were much more common. And the question of who should be allowed to use it and for what purposes was a major point of contention in many conflicts which was a nice world building detail in Star Wars lore.

I think that the most important part of the rebel alliance was the ground crews. without the maintence workers and engineering staff the rebellion would have fallen. like in Battlestar galactica when chief and his crew go on strike all viper flights are grounded and the fleet left without one of its primary defenders. also love the vid keep it up and cannot wait for stellaris Invicta.
After the retreat/route at Yavin IV, the presence of dedicated ground crews became extremely limited, exceptions being on Hoth, Mon Cal, and other planetside bases, or on Home One itself. Most squadron pilots became their own "mechanics" out of necessity because it was literally the pilots living/fighting/moving by themselves until the later days of the war when the Mon Cal fleet was in greater numbers to project capital ship support across the galaxy. Thus, a majority of pilots also were their own mechanic, electrician, quartermaster, cook, engineer, and commando/guard, because the squadron pilots only had each other when out on mission campaigns.
@@paulliston8561 true in the lost stars novel we do see the pilots of corona (unfortunate name) squadron patching up holes in their own fighters. but on a larger scale we saw the Rebel alliance making their own X-wings and B-wings. give the Ground crews some credit. also as it says in the cross section of fighters and space ships it says that B-wings were the pain of ground crews and that the engineers had a pain of a time keeping Y-wings in the air. Depending on who you talk too, they either left under gunfire and killed the Imperial soldiers there with thruster wash...or as I like to think of it, shot a hole straight through the landing bay door and vacc'd the entire thing.
It's also way more inspiring and ingenious than just having it handed to them by dissatisfied corporate executives. It adds more to the rebel alliance's "do it yourself in spite of adversity" attitude that gives their faction it's character.
@@kubli365 Legends had at least three different stories on how it happened, same as how the Rebels got the Death Star plans from like four different places. It's kind of a yes and no. Because the Rebellion's starfighters are not dependent on carriers for transport, part of the usefulness of the Venator (massive hangers) is already less useful. Still good as a staging area away from their actual bases and it does extend their range by quite a lot, but not nearly as useful as it may seem initially.
