JWB's patent was applied for 100 years ago this month. He got the design perfect the first time and it has been in service for over a century with very little major improvement with the exception of a quick change barrel which replaced the screw in barrel. My HMMWV had a Ma Deuce up top. I traced the serial number to a 1952 date of manufacture. for OIF 1 that made the weapon 51 years old when we used it. And it got _A LOT_ of use in Iraq. Never had any problems with it with the exception of a few cases of "run away" which happens when the chamber gets so hot from use that rounds cook off as soon as they hit the chamber. Stopping a run a way gun is as easy as grabbing the belt on the left side and pulling it too you. Time for a new barrel to let that one cool!
Hi @scottmurphy650, thanks for your comment and amazing insight from your own personal experience with the Fifty Cal. As you say, JMB got it right first time and 100 year later she is still going strong with very little in the way of changes and improvements. I hope you enjoyed the video.
JWB? I assume that you are referring to its designer John Moses Browning?
@@papagarand6592 Well I wasn't talking about Jimmy W Buffet.
This is the first channel that I've ever clicked on the notification bell. Looking forward to more videos!
Thanks for your positive comments and support @GabrielRoberts. Welcome aboard! Many more videos to come.
This just highlights the genius of John Brownings initial design in that his weapon is still in service 100 years later and is a staple of so many arms of US military service. Because nowhere are you at you DO NOT want to be where a >50 cal BMG is aiming!
@WyldIndigo I completely agree. I hope you enjoyed the video. Stay tuned for more to come!
It was really rad to see a remote turret. You dont see that kind of tech alot.
Absolutely. 👍🏻 On a different but still very “tech” note, you should check out my video on Robot Dogs.
ya gotta set that head space and timing put the barrel in tight than turn it backwards till you hear 3 clicks and use the gap tool to check the spacing I don't know if you still have to do that on these new M2
@savoirfaire5460 You clearly have experience with this weapon, thanks for sharing your insight! I hope you enjoyed the video as much as I enjoyed making it.
Great video with awesome footage, learned a lot about the 50 Cal 🔫
That’s great to hear. Thanks for the positive feedback. 🙏
I need 3000 boxes of those to buy ok
@odanewilson that would certainly be a lot of .50 caliber machine guns! :-)

I need 30000000 of those to buy ok
That sure would be a lot of BMG’s! Don’t forget the ammo. :-)
The 50cal the Ukraina being supplied with seems to be total crap. Malfunctioning mostly and the rate fire of speed immensely low. Also the Ukrainian trooper do not utilize the tactics on how to most effectively usage the fire power with this gun, with its range and penetrating power its ment to be a long range area covering machine gun. Perfect within to lay destructive fire power to a specific area before foot soldier enter. Sadly seen on several clips that the 50cal gun is abandoned by the troopers, as they continue with small arms AR and abandons the 50cal. It seem that the fighters are not educated in the means of tactics and the usage on the equipment for destructive power. If you have a couple of 50cal on A assault mission or on defence line and used properly it will show dramatic effect. And you will need 2 men to maintain this gun, 1 firing and 1 assisting with ammo and others, do not try to change this setup what ever your command advice. Im being doing this for the whole my life. Practice, training and repeat!!!.
@chowd.a.d.8309 Thanks for your comments. You make some interesting points there. As you say, practice (and training) makes perfect! I hope you enjoyed the video.
