Founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is one of the oldest universities in the English speaking world. Famed alumni include Adam Smith, Joseph Black, Nicola Sturgeon and Gerard Butler.
Overlooking the city from the West End on leafy Gilmorehill, the University is a striking example of Gothic Revival architecture with it's stained windows, turrets, spires and the iconic central tower reaching 85 metres high above the city.
On a guided or self-guided tour of the grounds, be sure to check out The Hunterian Museum, The Cloisters, The Memorial Chapel and the view looking onto the Kelvingrove Art Museum nearby.
