I have been making these for the past few years and keep some in my purse so if I meet someone who is in need of a little prayer help (and who among us doesn't), I can give them one of the Pocket Prayers. What a wonderful idea and we all have scraps just waiting for a wonderful little project.

my daughter is going thru chemo treatments. these will be wonderful for. me to make so she can share with her fellow cancer fighters. It is hard as the mother of an adult daughter with cancer to find little things to do that give daily hope. This is perfect. Thank you Cindi
Love this idea. If making them for someone who would not necessarily want the cross, a heart would be nice or even one of those "pocket angels" which are like a coin but thicker.

I help make these for our church. I get the crosses on Amazon 1200 of them for $15. It’s the little colorful crosses made for bracelet making but they were perfect inside of the prayer clause. I also get my bags from Amazon 3 x 4“ bags 1200 for $16.

Hobby Lobby has a bag of several crosses in the bead section.
My way to make the crosses, I use my singer Quantum 9960 but I'm sure most machines can do this as well *** I interface some fabric scraps, then I "satin stitch" ISH /draw with thread/ fill in the cross shape with thread using my free motion quilting foot... I go over the image that I've drawn of the Cross on the fabric and I just fill it in with a lot of thread when I'm done I clip it close to the threads. I use a little fabric glue or stop fray, but I did one without glue andi it hasn't frayed, I have one I did two years ago and it has not frayed. Make it small enough to fit in your quilt, but big enough that you can feel the cross shape still..

Hi Cindi, Great video love it !!!❤ Have you ever tried a no sew pocket prayer quilt? I don't have a machine. I am thinking just different front and back and pinking the edges. Could i just glue the cross in center? What do you think or how would you do a no sew?

I wanted to make some of these before Christmas, but I could not find any small crosses in my area. Thank you for the reminder to look at certain stores in a larger urban area (or online). 💟
I found the crosses on Amazon and purchased 100 crosses for $7.37 which included tax. I have Prime so no shipping costs. I haven't made many yet, but plan to make a lot more of the pocket quilts. So many ill and discouraged that I want to cheer up. (I'm not making them for sale, just to give away.) Blessings!

Catholic supply stores will have crosses, often used for rosary beads. You could buy them in bulk for a reasonable price.
These have to be so tiny, I'm not sure rosary crosses would fit the bill. I get mine on Amazon. (Link is in my comment.)

Is there anyway to get the tiny prayers besides printing them off I don't have a printer and can't order online, I don't have a debit card either? I've been wanting to make these and hand them out around my community especially to the homeless for a long time but I haven't I found a way to make the crosses inside out of little pieces of fabric and I use my sewing machine to embroider it until it's really thick with interfacing and feel it you can feel the cross in there so I got around that obstacle not being able to get the metal crosses now I just need the prayers printed off I've tried writing that small and I cannot write that small clearly lol. Any help is greatly appreciated I believe it's very important to get the word out about the Lord and encourage people especially now we're living in some very uncertain times and those who don't have the Lord may be very scared right now. You can go to the library and they can help you to print out a sheet. Or kinko’s can assist as well, but they’ll charge, but very little
Messge me your address and I will print and mail you the prayer.
You could hand write a short prayer for each one.

@@franpatzcraig6713 I did so that once when I gave away a case or brown egg, I out the Bible verse inside on a stick note. But the had to look it up. Idk, but there might be people who do have a Bible, but I didn't think I'd that untill after. I have thought about trying to write the. Smaller verse out but I won't be able to do a lot of them! Thank you that a Great ideal..
