The little girl was honestly the mvp in my a ending playthrough along with black orb and the mind regen ring i had her go for headshots every turn since she does no damage so she might as well, and a suprising number of fights were just cahara doing a distraction dance while my 7 year old assassinates them

Whenever I play the game there's always a spot in my party reserved for her, I'd feel bad leaving her alone in that cage

her tanking ability is simultaneously the sweetest and saddest thing in the fucking world. it makes me genuinely emotional. the player, if they’ve kept her in their party long enough to bond with her, is probably the only person who’s ever shown her any kind of decency or compassion, and that means so much to her that she’s willing to die to protect them. like, she can’t be more than ten years old. she’s three apples tall. she’s the size of a sauce packet. she’s this small 🤏. and here she is SACRIFICING HERSELF to protect YOU, and yet there are still people who delight in selling her to that stupid cat! you can just get a claymore from an empty scroll and have a cool sword AND a daughter! skill issue if you ask me if you have to trade one for the other.

If I may instill some hope. If you rush Legard and do ending C, you will see the girl in outside the dungeon if she is in your party. Meaning that by doing ending C you can actually save the girl from her horrible fates.
Even if you do ending E technically!
God that's nice to hear
too bad that everyone in ending c is miserable and plagued with nightmares of their time in the dungeon. Sucks but there is no redemption in the dungeons of fear and hunger, no future for those who delve too deep. Some like Rag and Enki found purpose there but only through very specific circumstances
The girls life isn’t *that* bad. Not everyone was raised with a roof over their heads, a room of their own (cage), and esteemed future prospects!
And with plenty of people to hang out with!

Several times the girl saved me from a deadly blow, but she sacrificed herself, so every time after I just sat there thinking, "I won, but at what cost?" before reverting save. Therefor the girl is one of those followers that you save for when you're confident you can protect her, otherwise she just ends up being a tragic meat shield.
The girl's life is literally meant to be sacrificed in a certain way, sad

As a slightly morbid note, it used to be the case that trying to merge with the girl in a Sylvian circle would instantly have you burst into flames like Nash'rah does. A later patch simply removed the prompt altogether.
Something like that is still present for the demon kid!
If you try to show love to the girl, she just refuses. Demon *baby* causes the gods to disapprove of the action and crush your pp. Not sure about demon kid though
ok im either misremembering or this the billionth f&h mandela effect but i swear i remember that when i tried that it just said "the girl is not willing." with no consequences
Another use for the doll that apparently no one noticed, is that you can use it to unequip otherwise non-unequippable accessories.
When you interact with the doll and give it to the girl, she will equip it regardless of whether she has an unremovable accesory or not. That's how I got her to unequip the Ring of the Still-Blood after noticing it couldn't be removed.
Yeah...that could be done, I didn't mention it as it's so rare that someone will actually equip her the ring that i think it didn't need to be mentioned!

She’s a great party member if you are playing as anyone other than Enki since you can teach her Combustion, Black Orb, and Loving Whispers through Scrolls and then also control where her attacks go unlike Ghouls, Skeletons, or Moonless…
She's good even if you play as enki!

Yeah if you're lucky to find that scroll that's another cool way to use her!
I mean, if you think about it, a black orb is just a big magical rock, so it kind of checks out.
Set her up with Combustion and a White Angel Soul

A cursed dagger with a Black Witch Soul + fire spells, then follow these steps
1. Poison enemy
2. Set enemy on fire
3. Be very proud of your adorable adopted daughter, she deserves it.
4. Have an ice cream together while your enemies writhe in agony
5. Don't you ever dare sacrifice this precious little angel
6. Ever

The amount of attachment i have for her while not even playing funger is really telling how good character she is. Really just want to give her lots of hugs

@@bread-number_2 If you have the Sorcerer's Stone or the ring that restores HP every turn (I forget its name), you can basically use the hydra to farm MP and HP

The girl is the saddest character in the game, it makes the game very depressing, I really wished there was a good ending for her...
Technically.... we may consider ending C or E good for her?
On my first full playthrough, I escaped as D'arce with the girl and Moonless. The girl was missing her arms, but I imagined a happy ending.
D'arce got back in touch with her family and convinced them to accept her mute, armless, adopted daughter and her wierd dog. She hand feeds the girl fancy noble food every day and they can run around in the yard with Moonless. After the first few years, the dreams of the dungeons are rare.
The good (and totally absolutly and very canon) ending is Chadnavald Puting the girl on Moonless back, asking monless to flee the Dungeon and then him becoming the God of Ultra Violence while the girl and Moonless are adopted by Cahara.

it's not canon but its a genuine thought out ending for her, since she has interactions in that latest part of the game
I know this is more late game(unless you find an empty scroll) but the girl is most effective with a black witch soul. She may not be able to do much physical damage, but with guaranteed poison on every hit you can quickly rack up massive damage on multiple body parts. Gives her attacks more purpose

I randomly had her learn black orb in my first run, she's absolutely essential in my eyes. I reload a save file if she ever dies ❤

Played the game recently, I'm just so sad... she deserves better. There's so many people and places tempting me to give her up, she's so meek and putting her life and trust on you yet I was holding in dear life protecting her to hope she would make it out alive and have a nice loving family and people around her in the end... :(

Damn I didn't even think about looting stones for her to throw. I always made her fight with items anyways until I cursed the dagger or found a decent spell scroll for her
I honestly think cursing the dagger is basically useless as most problematic limbs have 20 health, on, if you're on TnS you may argue that her damage + the one of your main surely kills guard arms which iirc have 250hp, but still i think throwing stones is the best and most consistent way!
@@frapollo94 I mean I just curse it so she does better damage to basic enemy torsos, and saved the items for tougher boss enemies. Ignoring the bug that lets you get infinite stones, they're probably better saved for enemies that really need to be stunned

Either you get better item or regrow your missing limbs or get a stone machine gun for free the choice is yours.
Yeah and unlike Buckman quest the choice here is hard enough!

Hey Frapollo! I wanted to ask, are there tools or ways to edit Save Files so you can play around with giving your character Items, Equipment, and Skills? Maybe even start with specific Party members? I'd love to have some fun Role Playing by starting out with different skills or equipment to fit a particular backstory, or just being able to test out some creative new classes to start the game with (could even be great for challenge runs)! I think it would be super cool for replayability of both F&H games! Greetings from Piemonte, by the way!!
Hello there! To modify that kind of stuff first decrypt the game files! Then go into the www folder inside the game and open the project file! There you can edit everything!

I've only ever played 1 run of Fear and Hunger.
Finding out that the girl doesn't start with erophobia at all times is mindblowing.
I thought it was a conscious narrative decision the devs made.

One day i had the girl sacrifice herself for moonless and died. It was the first time she took the hit for someone and i was so confused. Poor girl really likes her dog

i found funny how the tanking ability works, bc the first time i tried getting ending A i had nas'rah and the girl on my team and since nas'rah was always on 0hp everytime i battled the new gods it seemed like nas'rah pulled the girl with magic and used her as a meat shield lol

Even in Termina I get the feels when I use the sigil of the god of Fear and Hunger. It feels like being able to be with her again for a short time.
When I watched a friend play, the girl came out of the cage without any legs to stand on. It was very odd. They collected all souls and went into the golden temple before going back to fetch her and get the god of fear and hunger ending.

Fast attack and Black Orb were true Godsend skills to teach the girl on my first playthrough.
Thankfully a fear of magic did not backfire when casting the orb.

tbf it probably wasn't that bad growing up in the dungeon.
Before legarde showed up with the cube of the depths, it was a normal high security prison, meaning she probably got taken care of correctly. the fact that she's in a cage, locked away in an office, instead of in a prison cell seems pretty telling to me : as they felt themselves transforming into the deformed guard, the person looking after her locked her in the cage in that room so she'd stay safe, making sure the monsters from the dungeon couldn't get to her.
The girl deserved better, so sad her canon doesnt allow for a happy ending :C

Also I have a theory that she is canonically supposed to learn "Needle worm". This would explain GOFAH's "Body needles" attack. It comes out of nowhere so a plausible background for it is that it's an evolved version of "Needle worm". I was like "Yo why is she pin-pricking me? This is so random."
Hmmm I don't think it comes out of nowhere! She became GOFAH using God Of Depths! And needle worm is a God Of Depths skill!

Also she's the only character, as far as I know that can use a weapon while having no arms.
At least it worked with the skeleton arm when I tried it.
I imagine you just put the skeleton arm into the stump and she can control it and just punches with it's fist instead of whacking enemies.

Man I really want to keep her in my party until the end of the game but she just keeps dying in Mahabre and when fighting the tormented one, I've been stuck for idk how long trying to progress through the game while keeping her alive and not loosing all my other party members and/or limbs in the process

Just got the A ending in this insanity. Gauntlet...is interesting - with Dash there are certain spike trap patterns (specifically the second set of square room spikes) that just seem to stack damage against me, I must be hitting weird lingering hitboxes because it looks like they're down but oh well - so I usually just run through the whole thing without caring since they only bring you to 1 hp, and then heal right before begging Lizard Mage for an elixir before killing it, and again just before the boss (I got crushed by the boulder my first try through it trying to go all the way up, I guess it just spawned on top of me after passing the second passage cuz I didn't even see it, my dude just died, so I went down the next time I made it there and went through the poison pot area - second attempt I actually died to the pendulums LOL). Took the Fear and Hunger God on my first try (all of the bosses were pretty easy to be honest, but at that point I had Miasma (Le'Garde), Eastern Sword (Cahara - purified as I killed the Spirit when it initially attacked with Black Orb, takes about 3 turns), Blue Sin (D'arce), White Angel Soul (Cahara), Charm of the Yggaegesu (Le'Garde), Ring of Wraiths (D'Arce), and Blood Golem/Pheromone combo to replace The Girl (all bought with praying to Sylvian and using Soul Orbs - didn't really use Blank Scrolls this run aside from getting Alchemilla 1 since I never found it and had like 9 red and blue herbs - I also used it to get Blood Portal. Got Black Orb from Necronomicon.) + I got both of her favored items, so the only attacks the God ever got off was during her final form, one Stare which I luckily won the coin toss on since I don't really know her attacks, plus she poisoned and burned the Golem. Only needed to heal the Golem once. She had no chance. The only New God I failed on was Valteil, once (not to mention the statue puzzle took me a while to figure out). Well, kinda - he nailed my MC with Hurting (cuz I missed a couple attacks) for a limb and I just reloaded. Hardest fights were the damn Skin Granny, and of course the Crow Mauler (if he doesn't miss, otherwise he's easy). Haven't done the other optionals like Iron Shakespeare or 2 Headed Crow Mauler (forget that) and so forth, and probably won't.
Man, so that's ending E and A so far. Might reload my Ending A Save before I sacrificed Moonless for The Girl, and go for the Ascension/Yellow King C ending with the Doggo. After that I might move on and take on Termina.
It's not so bad once you get to end-game, but holy shit was this one tough to get into. It was very difficult for me to look past the coin toss mechanic which almost made me quit (I still hate it). The atmosphere and lore etc. is what kept me coming back, and I'm glad I did.
I'm happy you overall had fun with the game! And remember, no need to risk cointosses, just guard to prevent them!

Oh I just mean the loot ones. The one for the God of Fear and Hunger I got lucky with was because it's my first time fighting her and don't know her attacks yet, lol. So I got lucky there.
But yeah I like the game. With a more normalized loot mechanic and everything else remaining exactly the same, it'd be one of my favorites.😁
Also... she can use cleaver in my game. I don't necessarily understand why because you all say she only can use 3 weapon...

I've been doing a my first serious run through F&H this passed week. We're currently in Ma'habre and she's still got all her limbs, just learned Black Orb, and I couldn't be happier that she's alright. Le'Garde is missing an arm and a leg, but everyone else is fine, lmao.

You wanna know why she shouldn’t even leave the dungeon in the first place? Because if she does a far more terrible fate awaits her if the Moon God sees her and since the Moon God sees EVERYTHING except what’s in the Dungeon, it’s basically that safest place that the GIRL could ever be. It’s implied in the First game that since she is the product of contraception between Le'gurd and a New God she would be the bane of existence to the Moon God (which is right since the Moon God wishes to see Humanity stagnate, and yet with The GIRL's ascension into the God of Fear and Hunger, she progresses humanity by her very existence.)

The canon for termina is Enki turns into a new god, the viking himbo who's name I can't spell turns into the god of ultra violence and kills monsters for eternity with Moonless, the girl turns into the God of fear and hunger and kills Cahara, Le'Garde I think becomes the yellow king and idk what happens to D'arce
