As someone who owns one of these, and maybe only use it once every 2 months. I'm glad to know that excluding new batteries here and there, it would probably last me a lifetime.
Thank you so much for not adding any music to your videos (especially while talking) I love listening to the raw audio of you taking it apart I also like that you didn't put an ad at the beginning of the video so I watched the ad at the end of the video
My 921 needed the whole electronics package (motor, board, trigger, etc) replaced because it would randomly just freeze up like software was locking up or something. I found a few other people complaining, dewalt sent me a new battery, but didn't seem too interested in getting it fixed under warranty letting me know if I sent it in and they couldn't duplicate the issue that I'd have to pay shipping and processing. They suggested a service center, 45 minute one way drive and with limited hours. So I ponied up $90, bought the guts, and did it myself then sold it on to a co-worker for $90, got myself an open box 921 for $120. Both have been working fine so I think it was an early build issue. Other than being dirty inside the 921 looked fine.
My Skil saw is over 50 and still cuts as good as the day it was new, true I've had to replace the cord, the original rubber was not solar resistant, we truly do not make tools to last like we used to.
The DCF922 is the same impact as the 921/923 but with a half in detent that might be easy to repeat what you just did and swap that in. I know in your original 923 video you explained you preferred the 3/8 anvil but if that has at all changed and the detent is preferred that much you could try making another one switching and comparing
I dont know in the US but here in Canada you can get a M12 Stubby Gen 2 with a 5 am high output for 348 CAD ($250) which is a lot easier on the wallet.
think you'd be interested in making a video just going through your tools ( home+garage+van ) just chatting about them, what gets alot of use, what doesn't but is great, what you forgot you even had so on so on?
The problem with dewalt is QC and service. Their batteries have a severe widespread issue with dying, and it took me somewhere around two YEARS of daily harassment on every social media account they have to actually get them to honor their warranty on a DOA flexvolt battery.
I had the opposite of that experience. Had 2 dead 5ah batteries from a 2020 kit that was never opened. Went to the site, filled out the warranty form, they asked for date code pics of the batteries. 2 days later asked me to confirm shipping address, 2 days after that they sent tracking info, 4 days later 2 brand new batts on the door step. Fixed the other 2 for $20 each and kept them. A wonderful experience. This was summer of 2023.
After 2 to 3 years I just buy a new tool. The trigger is always messed up, dewalt triggers cost almost as much as the brand new tool. So buy a new tool
This is my favorite kind of review. When it’s done by someone that’s been using it for a good long while.
That's how I met my wife.

If only the batteries weren't so damn expensive.

Yes ..! A Teardown Video.. !
Hey funk my dcf923 has been rocking for almost two years daily abuse 🤙🤙🤙
Nice video. I'm curious what the washer or whatever circular piece leftover is. It seemed to magically appear at the beginning of the teardown.

Second that

@@ApacheLife-50 I had that same experience too, but with an 8AH. Gave away the old 8AH to a friend.
Fun fact, those stakes just pop off and back on, friction fit pin legs go into little holes.
Any chance of an OG vlog?
Educate me, why do chrome sockets damage the square drive?
Does the "new battery" have a capacitor built in to give better initial current?
*Phsst* _he's not using the ltt screwdriver_
Edit: My xr drill wobbles, is that repairable?
My cheap ass would have welded and ground the anvil down square to replace the rounded metal

No ave
Let’s see how it did lol

If i took it apart it would never work again 😆
