    Jeez, this is about 999% easier than grinding out all the rust, foam, fiber glass. Bondo 5 times, endless sanding, primer, getting a paint spray gun, etc. thanks!

    Great Video. You accomplished the GOAL of making your TRUCK LOOKS BETTER; and you did it for under$100.00 **
    For all the Dipsticks who are saying you should completely fix the rust are just flat out MISSING THE POINT. Sure you could grind, patch, sand, prime, paint, etc...
    There are plenty of videos of people fixing by traditional body work.
    That's NOT what this video is about.
    Maybe they could go find videos of a guy dropping his truck off at the body shop. And then a week later going back to pick it up and writing a check $3,000.00
    Or even better; go watch a guy drive to a car dealer and buying a new/newer truck.
    ** I'm sure half the idiots who made dumb comments spent at least $100 on lap dances in the past month.

      🤣 haha right??? THANK YOU! Funny thing is, it's been 5 years now and the truck actually looks much better than I expected. Sure beat the HOURS I spent grinding rust off my last pickup!

      Wow it has rusted past the flares yet? I just put flares on my 16 Silverado yesterday. It was starting to bubble a little and couldn’t bare seeing it. But didn’t want to drop big bucks on it. How long you think I have until I’ll see the rust? Lol

    Oh ya just put fender flares on!...the rust can get even worse from the inside out, but just a heads ups. I strongly recommend a patch job before fender flares.

      Agreed, render flares are the worst thing to do for a truck, I recommend just remove the rusted metal, add new one, sand, paint, clear coat, wax. AND ALWAYS WAX THE BODY, it will prevent rust bug time.

      New pickups with cheap pressed body parts that you can dent with your knuckle are going for $70,000 and up

    If you first cut off the worst rusted parts then seal with a rust treatment; then apply the flares you can get a few more miles out of this repair..

    Got these on my truck. Unfortunately I live in Iowa so even if you own a brand new truck it's fucked harder than Anastasia Steele in 50 Shades of Grey after two God damn years. But thankful for these to cover it up.

    I have a 2012 chevy that is just now showing signs of that fender rust. I'm lucky I guess. You still happy with your fender flare choice. Thinking of going with the same brand that fits my year of chevy.

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  2 роки тому

      Yep, they held up great so far. The rust is just starting to bubble the paint above them now which I knew would happen. I have had to drill a few new holes since there's no longer metal at the top but either way they still make it look soooo much better than it would have otherwise.

    Is there anyway to leave the mud flaps on AND have the fender trim installed at the same time? Or do the flaps have to come off in order to have the fender trim on? I have a 2000 Silverado extended cab and I’m wanting the 1-1.5” fender trim. Thanks to everyone.

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  9 місяців тому

      I've seen trucks with both. Might need to look over a few options to make sure they will work. Might possibly also have to find some longer fasteners and need to trim things here or there, but I'm sure it can be done.

    • @SwankyCatProductions

      Thanks MR Ridiculous! Yeah I suppose your right. I should clean up the rust and paint it up to keep it hidden as long as possible but after that it should be good for as long as I usually keep trucks haha. Yep $79.99 for all four, shipped to my door!

    • @SwankyCatProductions

      I've owned trucks that came with both already installed. I'm not sure but I'd assume you could find some that are made to work with fender flares. Not so sure you could make the stock ones work though. Depends were they fasten to the truck.

    Do they offer any for ford, or is it kinda just for Chevy? I'm looking for a way to put fenders in without doing to much screwing around. PS: kinda a ways away yet, but will you be doing more snowmovlogs this winter? Catch ya later, derek

    • @SwankyCatProductions
      @SwankyCatProductions  6 років тому

      Hey Derek, I'd assume they sell something similar for Ford's on amazon as well. Idk how the install process would look if you don't have the holes in the box already but it should explain it in the listing. Yep! I'll be doing more snowmovlogs as soon as possible!

      Exactly! Once the rust creeps up above the flares I'll try cleaning it up and painting it. Depending on how that goes I might look for a new box.

    Makes the rust 10x's worse, eventually rusting it's way up to the top edge of the bed, my father bought these covers to hide his rust and 5 months later the rust and air pockets grew 10x's larger, they build up water behind these covers and eventually the whole wheel well will be gone I'm talking about 5-7 inches above these covers!!! Not good, better off just doing it yourself or have somebody you know fiberglass over...
