The first time I saw this trailer was when I went to the movie theater to watch "Am I Racist?". The irony, I know. Anyway, it's sad that looking at the cast turned me off instantly from watching the movie because I knew something like this was coming.
I have a theater degree from years ago and currently volunteer with my local theater company. I love theater. I love wicked. But I had serious reservations about this movie to begin with. This pretty much sealed it for me. I’ll just continue to enjoy the broadway version until they ruin that too. 😂

As someone who ALMOST primarily reads fanfiction, I take offense to her taking offense. Fan-made, -created, and -editted anything HONORS the original. We celebrate and try to expand on the original, or we evaluate how it COULD be different by changing a choice or a background or the setting or the time period, or by adding a character or taking an instrumental character away. The love runs that deep, and she needs help.
Fanfics are decent as long as nobody uses them out of character. I read to have more content of the actual characters, not a impostor of your oc or even a projection of the author wearing the character as a flesh mask

The OOC moments have to make sense within the context of the new story's reality; something has to be different from the original, otherwise it won't work. There is a Pride and Prejudice Variation author who has a tendency to have all her "good" characters have the same exact opinions, and behave in the same exact way, and relay the same exact information using the same exact verbiage, and be practically too perfect. I find myself bored and have stopped reading any of her books, which sucks because I find the story IDEAS incredibly intriguing. The execution just leaves much to be desired.
_Wicked_ has always been my favorite musical. It’s largely the reason I tried to pursue music performance. Elphaba has always been my dream role. I heard that the stage show was being adapted for the screen & that there was controversy. I ignored everything. Eventually I saw a promo image & immediately said “nope”. I later found out that my family saw the Super Bowl trailer & said to each other “Lianna would hate this.” Every image I see of it makes me nervous. Every time I hear anything about the people involved in it I get nervous. I no longer trust Hollywood and I don’t really care to see whatever interpretation this film director has. I’m not in favor of this, so they can’t have my money. I’m seeing _Bonhoeffer_ instead.

The only Broadway show I have ever seen (not in theaters, too broke for that I watch it on Apple tv) is Come from away. Not even joking. I've seen the percy jackson one at a local theater non broadway as well... nothing else probably won't ever unless Epic the Concept album becomes one.
I have a theatre degree and taught middle-school theatre. I have no interest in watching these ridiculous “progressive” productions.

As someone who ALMOST primarily reads fanfiction, I take offense to her taking offense. Fan-made, -created, and -editted anything HONORS the original. We celebrate and try to expand on the original, or we evaluate how it COULD be different by changing a choice or a background or the setting or the time period, or by adding a character or taking an instrumental character away. The love runs that deep, and she needs help.
Fanfics are decent as long as nobody uses them out of character. I read to have more content of the actual characters, not a impostor of your oc or even a projection of the author wearing the character as a flesh mask

@@JerezIwiski When a character is OOC for absolutely no reason, the story can be difficult to swallow. The OOC moments have to make sense within the context of the new story's reality; something has to be different from the original, otherwise it won't work.
There is a Pride and Prejudice Variation author who has a tendency to have all her "good" characters have the same exact opinions, and behave in the same exact way, and relay the same exact information using the same exact verbiage, and be practically too perfect. I find myself bored and have stopped reading any of her books, which sucks because I find the story IDEAS incredibly intriguing. The execution just leaves much to be desired.

_Wicked_ has always been my favorite musical. It’s largely the reason I tried to pursue music performance. Elphaba has always been my dream role.
I heard that the stage show was being adapted for the screen & that there was controversy. I ignored everything. Eventually I saw a promo image & immediately said “nope”. I later found out that my family saw the Super Bowl trailer & said to each other “Lianna would hate this.” Every image I see of it makes me nervous. Every time I hear anything about the people involved in it I get nervous. I no longer trust Hollywood and I don’t really care to see whatever interpretation this film director has. I’m not in favor of this, so they can’t have my money. I’m seeing _Bonhoeffer_ instead.
