I am not a social worker I am a client that has a social worker what I don't like about you social workers is when you want to pressurise us into what you want to here and pressurise us into other things and make forss things about us and go back into ar past but you don't want to go forward and why do you want to go back in ar past when the past can not be fixed how we are now is what matters

Hi Lisa, I am a Social worker in practice and what I have come to learn about our profession is when someone needs help from us it is important to know the history of the person so that we have a proper diagnosis of the problem to work on it. Some challenges that you currently face in your life right now may be caused by what you experienced in early years of your life. it is not easy to visit the past as it may be filled with trauma and hurt, but honestly we do it for the best interest of the client to revisit the past to heal in the present and have a better future. I would advice you to express your concerns with your Social Worker.
Best of luck with your journey :)
