this is so helpful! I procrastinate and then I have a mountain to complete each month. it can be so frustrating. I think my procrastination is definitely a symptom of secondary trauma.
Perhaps also it would be help to provide specifc strengths, needs, personal challenges (barriers) and solutions that the family provided and plans to do to address any issues. Our plans and documentation should always be family centered, strength based and solution focused. I know documentions and report must sound legal and professional. I think you did a good job with your notes. I would like to see more of what the family is experiencing reflected. Its how we measure progress in their service plans.
This has been so helpful for me already, thank you! I work in the legal field and it is hard to keep track of the many moving parts involving someone's case. Always grateful to find techniques for learning and improving.
I am going to IMMEDIATELY begin adding subheadings into my notes. What a great idea! Wish I had seen this video 6 years ago when it came out. Oh well, I am sending it to my two summer interns, I think they will find it helpful as well! Have a great one :-)
Thanks Jasmine, this video was very helpful. please keep up the good work! All your vids are so educational and informative👍I am just getting into the field and this vid was extremely helpful🌞
This was a wonderful video. I am a new subscriber and I will be making my SW career official next month!!! I know this is a 1-year late comment but just to remind you dont forget to mention that the names you are mentioning are not of the clients or clients family due to confidentiality.
Great Video, this will help with my class work in the MSW program I'm in. I can also implement this in my current position at work. Thank you for the video.
I feel that my biggest weakness is that I’m quiet and I’m always afraid that clients will be offended that I’m maybe not talking as much as I should. Do you have any tips for this? I love your videos, they are so helpful!
Kelsey Jones being quiet is generally a strength because u can listen better and that’s exactly wat clients need. Stay true to urself they will sense it if u try to fake it xx
I don't know if you'll see this but it gave me quite the chuckle. So, your fictional clients kids' are named Karen and Kyla. Then you said Karen and Kayla. My name is Kyla and people constantly call me Kayla, and I'm glad to know the other Kyla's of the world are having their names mispronounced, too, hahahaha! Fantastic video and so helpful!
Great info! I was wondering why it would be necessary to give DV education when the client is already experiencing it or if this DV education includes referrals or other services. Thank you.
Vegans Living Off the Land hi, sometimes people don't recognise domestic violence especially when it's emotional or financial so dv education is relevant in most cases. So i do both referrals, information share and dv education. I may make a video on this later. Xx

Isn't the information on the client meant to be confidential?
I made up the case study!
she clearly stated in the description box that she made up the case study. obviously, confidentiality isn't an issue if the client is made up..
There is no absolute confidentiality.
I really like your videos but prefer that you don't do the recording in the bedroom. I'd love to show your videos in class but can' because of this. Otherwise, great work.
