I think there should be an option to turn off non-intended shortcuts. Right now you see a lot of spread between racers who know the non-intended shortcuts and those who don't. By only keeping the intended shortcuts you close the gap a bit more and it will make races more intense. They also should be carefull with the blue orb as it should have a very low probability or should have a more complex scheme based on mutual distance to increase tensing, but minimize annoyance. That said: it's amazing to see all this progress of modding in the recent months!
People usually agree to not do SCs in the lobby chat before a race, but there's always that one dickhead who doesn't listen lol

That was problem even in Nitro-Fueled’s online races. It’s a dice roll of getting players terrible enough to make it an easy win or speedrunners that makes winning impossible.
@@rayvenkman2087 Agreed. There should be some form of balance in item probability and player spread. You don't want terrible players spamming rockets and orbs and you don't want speedrunners being unreachable. If you device an algorithm which updates item probabilities frequently based on mutual distance, previous weapon use and measured driving skill, you can balance things out. I think the hardest part is coming up with a metric for driving skill. Apart from items it's easy, but when items are involved results can get skewed.
I wish I could help with the creation of said algorithm if it's all C code, but I don't know who I can reach out to in order to help.
@@tomquareme3787 There are plans to adjust the percentages of getting items for players so it's not just a blue orb fiesta lol, things like that are going to be tackled as the project continues and already are being thought of solutions
CTR will NEVER be the same. except for like when the decomp is finished or something grumble grumble.

This is so awesome, but everyone is way too good. I always finish last by about 20 seconds XD
i tried it for a bit and works really well, the only issue that i found is that the only object that you can pick up its the bomb, doesnt matter the position that you are or anything.
hopefully they add the rest of the random pick ups to the game soonish because without that element of randomness the game gets very sweaty and unfun to play if you arent a master at the game.
Probably not going to download because A: I don’t have a pc :( , and B: it looks like a lot of the tracks can be exploited in the older games. Still, it looks like a good alternative if someone wants to play a online CTR racing game without having to buy a console. The mod creator should be proud for creating this mod.

I'm working for more than 10 years on a Doom TC mod, so I know how impressive this is.

Most of the "problems" I'm seeing here in the comments can be solved by doing one thing: getting good.
I’m gonna be honest, I feel this mod will only have sweaty players and won’t be fun for someone like me who just wants to race for fun. You say that it’s for all players but I just don’t think that’s reasonable when only hardcore players would download such a mod.
Actually there's lots of first-time players, and as the developer of this mod, I usually come last anyway, it's still fun

You could probably just create a room where only players of similar skill enters. I would gonna create one where me and my friends only enter and we are all close each other.

I still highly praise you all for working on this, and it really puts Activision to shame for not porting Nitro Fueled. I'm just speaking, practically, as someone who plays it on my own, and had friends who did enjoy it but would never come back to it because it's so old lol

One thing you said its better as Nintro Fueled? Why exactly? Is there some kind of hate towards it, its one of the better remakes I've seen so far.
When u get good at NF u see a low of bad things. Bad online, bad geometry, a lot of abusable non intended mechanics, AWFUL loading times (2minutes). It was a good remake, ngl, but most ppl could not stand it on the long run
It is one of the best remakes of all time, but i still prefer the original.

The loading times killed that game.
For me, its mostly the slowness of the loading screens, and the awful online. when im playing single player the game is good, however your only playing the game 55% of the time coz of the loading screens.

@@cartmanofsp2 weeks late but whatever. Hypnoshark here is a speedrunner and he mostly plays with people who know unintended tech. When you get into one of the many online rooms, there's a higher chance there will be people who don't know skips. Additionally, Hypno himself had skipless races that were agreed upon before hand.
Why this became a thing?
I really don't understand why people want a PC port for Crash games. Can someone explain why do people want everything on PC? And what, are you going to play this with a keyboard?? It's only going to attract sweaty players anyway
The reason people want a PC port is so that they have complete power over making new content, such as custom tracks, custom characters, BETTER online than this, stuff like that.

The simple fact that you dont need an emulator and therefore dont get restricted by the original console limitations opens a ton of modding possibilities.
And if its a PC port of something like a PS2 game, it would run a hell of a lot better than emulation, plus being more accurate than the original, since the code is not being emulated.
Also, opening and configuring out an emulator makes me lazy. It is way more confortable to have everything in menus like it was an official version of the game.
