What a loyalty to the roots. Don't miss her and Gustaf Ljunggren - if they perform where you live - this is a top quality music experience.

    I hereby renounce American pop.
THIS is music. THIS is beauty. This is the single most amazing, haunting, perfect, breathtaking thing I have ever heard. This is why I am not content to stay in America the rest of my life. This is why I must travel. This is why I love music and always will. Eivør Palsdottir, YOU ARE AMAZING!! Keep on singing :)

Our collective soul has been starving for this. This is pure, and clean, and it is truth. I am nearly crying it is so beautiful. Finally, I have found something that I believe, something that I know is me. I suddenly realy that I have been lost for a very long time. My DNA is tingling. I can feel. I can understand. I am taken back to be brought forward, and I have felt better than now. Such a wonderous blessing to us all she is. Thank the gods that she is.

Her voice is something I never heard before and yet channels like MTV and rest places were they show us "talented vocalists" there's nobody who can match her.Eivor possess something others doesn't has.Wish places like mtv/vh1 been showing talented vocalists like her..its a shamy this is so underrated

People should know about her, but it's not about the money. I wish we didn't put such a high price on entertainment and arts. People just need enough for a comfortable living. The importance should be one spreading the music, the message, and the art.

This is just great. I could listen to this all day.
One thing that surprised the heck out of me is that I don't speak a word of Faroese, and yet I actually understood quite a bit of the song without looking it up, probably from looking at Scandinavian texts over the years.

It is her personal touch, but has basis in several forms of cultural music around the world. It reminds me somewhat of Sami Joik also, people who live in Scandinavia by the arctic circle, the reindeer herders.

they speak faroese language. faroese is the middle link between icelandic, and the countinetal languages danish, swedish, ect....
native faroese understand basicly evrything of the other languages. and are also able to speak them fluently, with little or no training.

Those sounds she makes. I HATE to compare it to such a thing, but for the sake of explanation, it sounds like beatboxing. Is that something signature to Scandinavian or even Faroese music? Or is that part of her own personal touch to the music? She is absolutely entrancing.

    - and yes, this was faroese.
