    It actually took a tad over 7 minutes from start to finish! The long-headed seat bolts are available from Totally TTRs - totallyttrs.com/epages/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84/Products/TTR-0268

    Tools used: Philips screwdriver, 8mm and 10mm open-end spanners, 10mm and 12mm sockets. I also used a 7mm socket on the petrol pipe Jubilee clip but could have used the Philips screwdriver.

    Thanks Brian. I noticed your tank decals are bubbled. No surprises here. Do you have a local aftermarket supplier of TTR tank decals? OME full set of decals here in Aust is $235! That's about 136 pounds.

    • @briansussex
      @briansussex  3 роки тому

      Hi Rod. Yes - they were bubbling quite nicely! I have since replavced them with decals from Totally TTRs. The actual colour is much nicer in real life - more like the original Yamaha ones. Photos of my TTR with them on on the TTR250 forum. See totallyttrs.com/epages/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84/Products/TTR-0851

    Heh - wish I’d watched this before; did this without removing the airbox but had to remove the battery box, so no quicker.

    Your tank looks like new. I have never taken off my air box. Almost but it doesnt fall back out like that. My mud guard for the shock and linkage wont let it. Did i mis some of the video where you removed it or is yours short or broken? Anyway the carb will come in and out with it on but that may also be why i need to replace the intake as the rubber has gave up its hold on aluminum. Glad i found your channel brother. I have read much of your writing on the forum and other places. Thanks for sharing your wisdom.

      Hi Mike and thank you for your encouragement! It is always rewarding to know when an owner has found any of my forum or UA-cam guides useful ;-) Yes, I have shortened the protective mudflap after I wore most of it through. I use quite a tall (Pirelli MT43) trials tyre which sits very close to the front of the swingarm. The cut-down mudflap still covers the shock shaft when I am sitting on the bike which is what I think is important. I have tested carbs on my brother-in-law's TTR250 which has the standard size flap on and the airbox comes out easy enough. Not sure what's happening with yours. My recollection is that the airbox comes out by pushing it down and sideways and toward the rear wheel. Best regards, Brian

    I source all my new TTR250 parts from Steve & Lisa at Totally TTRs - TotallyTTRs.com - great service with the added bonus that you know anything you buy has been tested so will fit and work out of the box!

      I can't remember. Let me look in the garage. I might have a receipt or box. Definitely ordered it online and it was not easy to find even 2 years ago let alone now.

      @briansussex  2 роки тому +2

      Can't remember - sorry! Totally TTRs might be able to help as they make and sell their own very strong s/s guards - see totallyttrs.com/epages/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84/Products/TTR-0603&ViewAction=ViewAccessory . They are OOS at the moment but worth emailing Steve - sales@totallyttrs.com - to ask when they will be back in. Hope that helps.
