man you are the best! thanks, this was driving me crazy!
i couldnt attach a metal piece on the inside, so what I did is I ducktaped 1 coin on top of each of the 2 openings. It gave it a bit of weight and now its perfect!

For us it was the only solution as all the other flappers and back draft stoppers failed. Problems seem to occur when the vent is exposed to high winds side ways on.

My case the flapper is leaking outside cold air into my home and room above this vent pipe has cold air draft coming from floors.

Bought a new build. They've popped a Bosch Cooker Hood in the kitchen which is open plan *and it is freeeezzzzing cold* as cold air is coming in from the Hood.
What to do 😔 😔

*I guess I understood that it was showing us mainly how to stop the noise..........but I understand it that the gravity flap external grille will also stop the cold air blowing in too*

@@chiccabee8840 if its a new build get the builder back to put a baffle in.

@@chiccabee8840 the external grille on most new homes in the Uk has No outside flap. Maybe get a vent with a flap to help keep cold air out. When it’s windy your range hood should have another flap inside to seal out the wind.
