I had an RSI on my Ranger. It was a great cap overall, but as I got more into camping I started to really consider going the GFC route as well. If I ever get another pickup, I'll go with a GFC no doubt.
Yea it works for most things. Be cool if I wanted to be solo and “stealth” camp but I never do that lol. Gfc has been awesome even with the tent closed have much more head room to sit in the back or to even grab gear you don’t have to crouch and crawl in as much.
piece of UA-cam advice: If you are going to title a video like it's a review, and thus have it pop up in searches, don't wait until 1:40 into the video before you start talking about the thing that people clicked in for.
Well I don’t like doing review videos but I kept getting asked about the cap and why I got rid of it. More fun for me to make a little day trip about it and talk about it for a few minutes. Plus it’s my channel and my video and my shit so I’ll wait till 3:00 next time if I want. Plus doesn’t say review in the title.
@@Exploringthewildlands As someone who is considering both of these options for my Tremor, I appreciate your review (the whole thing, I doh't care at what point you get into it) Well done man!
Was it that difficult to skip through the video to the areas you wanted? This guy has regular subscribers too that he is addressing in addition to talking about the caps. As someone that has never watched his videos before i appreciated this video to help me shop for a cap.
I was about to buy a smartcap then I heard that you can't open it from the inside and well, how fkn dumb is that, kinda hard to camp in a cap you get locked into...... yeah lmao
Haha yea kinda sucks. Don’t know when/if they’re still making the locks that open from the inside. I know the gfc topper can open from the inside if latched and locked. Mine does too.
How has the MPG changed on your truck between a cab high and cabover? I just installed a Smartcap in part to keep the drag low... though I know the GFCs are pretty low profile, so I'm curious if you've noticed a difference. Thanks!
I'm looking at getting something like this ... thanks for sharing your thoughts!
@@TheBananaRon I really liked it. If I wanted something without a tent on it again I would definitely get this again.

What is gfc
@@bendover-bz4bc go fast campers
Tent still just better... dont have to pack up everything to just go for a drive etc
@@ChrisDied I usually don’t stay at a spot more than a night so I’d have to pack up anyways.

I just got my RSI smartcap a EVOa and all 3 doors can be opened from the inside. Maybe this is a latest update.
@@desmondstrydom4430 when I called them several months ago they told me they were working on new locks. But had no availability on them then.
That's a good bit of info. Guess I’ll keep looking.
The new ones open from the inside

Yea I did notice about 1mpg less once doing the gfc.
