Thanks for the tips! I will try to remember some of these the next time I film an adventure video for out backpacking gear company. See you on the trails! -Jonathan
Catching up on all your videos, As someone thats just getting into this, I’m a fan! Really enjoying the clarity and humility of your BTS and teaching videos.
Great point about not just getting the action but the reaction AFTERWARD. Sometimes I forget that even the pros will surprise themselves every now and then and it's great to capture that emotion.
So true, Scott, about keeping your camera rolling. The unexpected moment always seem to be the compelling ones. I learned that lesson when shooting a story about the solar eclipse from a few years back.. great advice!
Hi from Vancouver, Thank you for the tips!!! Looking forward to learning more about filming outside from you! Just subbed to your channel. Cheers, Dave
Atomos Shinobi is $299 USD. It's great, all the great parts about the ninja, just no recording. I actually sold my Ninja V and switched to the Shinobi.
Great Tips ! I'm doing a lot of photoshoot recently, and pitching ideas for more video based work for the first half of 2020. And i totally agree that even if we love our gear, it's the last question on the list. Why the client want that type of content? What are the issues he/she wants to solve with the new content ? Who is the audience ? Where it will be shown ? How long it will be used ? How many people are involved ? What is the time frame to produce and release the content ? What is the budget ? AND ONLY THEN, i can check what kind of gear i need ! Great video Scott ! I really liked watching this one after the behind the scene of the mountain bike video ! I wish you the best for 2020 💪
Those are the key questions for sure, especially when working with a business who is looking for direct results from the video you produce. The biggest one is the BUDGET! A lot of clients don't like to share this up front so it's a tricky dance to get to a quote that both of you can be happy with. Thanks for watching Lucas, glad you enjoyed the vid!
Hey Brandon, I've been using the Mindshift Horizon pack bit Jane recently upgraded to the Shimoda Design Action x70. Absolutely love the new bag. The mindshift is great for quick access to your camera but just isn't large enough for me anymore.
Can’t wait for more fun projects!
Yes man, this is going to be a great year!

What camera gear backpack did you mention at the beginning of your video? I don't see it in the links in the description?
