I sang this once to a hospice patient who had Alzheimers. He connected, and moved his hands to direct me. His wife later told me he had been choir director at his church. I don't sing this well, of course, but just hearing the song brought me back to that joy. Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world.
@@Atua_o_ahi_manaYou'll end up decimated if you choose the tae Kwon do path, just as you probably would if you did just the Ju Jitsu path.. Take American wrestling and you'll be saved against either..

I remember this song from O Brother Where Art Thou? The soundtrack to that movie is absolutely gorgeous and this rendition is beautifully spiritual. Ps more videos with Evynne please?
That movie brings so many memories! Used to be one of my mother's favourite movies and she would sing the entire soundtrack all the time when I was a kid
The origin of this song was first recorded in the 1860s. It was a gospel song created by slaves. It rose to popularity again in early 2000s due to Alison Krauss’s rendition in the “O Brother Where Art Thou” movie. Some believe that “down to the river to pray” was a secret message, as slaves would use rivers while escaping the dogs of their enslavers and evade capture. Whatever the intentions of the song, this was a beautiful rendition and very well performed. Thank you!
A wonderful collaboration and cover of this song! Congratulations on you and your wife's anniversary as well!! Love listening to both of you singing. God bless!
I don't know what makes this song so good but when you and the Fox and the Hound team up for this, there is magic in the air with the gospel truth. You couldn't have picked a better group to do with Peter Hollins + The Fox and the Hound=instant music magic
Forever soothing music...thanks Peter I was having a bad morning due to a death of a friend of mine..and this brighten my day...thank you man your like the most amazing person on here...better then PewDiePie
Music is music, ultimately. I'm Christian, but Hozier's "Take me to Church" is actually an amazing song that is really well performed. Not quite the same, but... yeah. Music is great like that. I'm glad you were able to enjoy this song so much. Peace.
I've loved this channel's music for so long. As a Christian, I find more scriptural fact in the thesis that modern "relogion" has more falsehood and disreguard for the needy than it does truth. And to contrast that more sentimental perspective, I know the endocrine system (being responsible for chills, e.t.c.) is ultimately entirely physically influenceable. There is nothing more valuable, comforting and terrifying than truth, yes atheism allows no room for hearing that reality we all have lived in, are living in and will continue to live in. If I have one point in saying all that, it's this: the statement "There is no such thing as an absolute truth" doesn't take the incontrovertible realities of gravity, light, energy, space, matter, time or temperature. And on top of that it's also an absolute statement itself. By typing all of this I'm just trying to consider your perspective without unnecessarily injecting mine, but also to offer a thesis that is outside of either of us (yet still concerns us).
@@我爱猪肉 I shudder to think about what "mega churches" have become, but you are very right about how society has seen Christianity at one point in time. However, that will never change what it truly originally was and always will be.
No longer Christian, but I have always adored this song. This was such a pure and simple rendition that’s so easy to harmonize with, and I immediately started singing along.
