My favorite Album!!! I will follow any reacter that features Boz Scaggs! He has so many beautiful heartfelt songs, I can't begin to list them hear. He also has some not so good. lol he's my FAVORITE artist since the early 70's.
@wpollock1, you'll find that Canadian Bruce Murray (Ann Murray's younger brother) does a great cover version of "We're All Alone" and Rita Coolidge also does a pretty good version.
Great timing on this reaction. Boz Scaggs is currently touring and I got to see him live in concert last night. He is 79 years old and his voice is still strong, including his falsetto. Other songs that are bangers are Harbor Lights, Georgia and We’re All Alone. He did all of these along with Lowdown and Lido Shuffle and more last night. Loved his music since the 70s!
I agree great timing! I attended his concert tour last year and Boz was fantastic! His voice was strong and his guitar playing was really great. He received at least three encores. The outdoor venue was packed. We all wanted Boz to stay longer. It was super fun. I’m glad you got to see him perform. 😊
Boz Skaggs is still so cool as he was back then. Great songs, great look and stage presence. And his voice is just so smooth. Great choice to react to. Love him ❤❤❤
Boz Skaggs did a great collaboration with legendary guitarist Duane Allman called Loan Me A Dime, great jam and one of his very best tunes. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
Every song on the Silk Degrees album was all over the radio back in the mid-70s. My sister bought the album and I may have played it more than she did. Harbor Lights is a wonderful ballad that you'll enjoy immensely. Blessings.❤
I'm an audio nut. This album is one of my go-tos for testing stereos. This song allows you to do your basic eq settings, then you tweak, if your system can handle the ups and downs of " harbor lights"
This song I hadn't heard this like forever. His Soulful singing. You guys wow, wow, it's such a wonderful time back then, and Boz Skaggs, was everywhere on the Radio well at least mine. Thanks Amber & Jay u made my evening, Love and Peace always Maria 🥰🤗
This was a definite must buy album when I was a junior in high school. I think I paid $3.99 for it, but every song was a hit. I had this on album, cassette, CD and eventually digital
Born in 1965 here, so the music of the 70’s and new wave of the 80’s are my absolute favorites! Love your shows, Jay & Amber! I just subscribed to it and have been watching & liking them constantly! Box Scaggs’ “Silk Degrees” album is one of my top 10 albums, but my favorite track is “It’s Over”. It was the story of my life until I met my wife, Kristy, and we married (our first time) in 1997 when I was 32 years old and she 25. We will be married for 27 years in October! The song remains my favorite even though I get mixed feelings about it…
I believe that most of the musicians on this album were members of the band Toto before they were popular. They were session musicians at this point in their careers. The next song you should react to from Boz Skaggs is It's Over.
Have a listen to Boz's "Look What You've Done to Me." It was written by Boz & David Foster for the Urban Cowboy soundtrack in 1980. From the same record, Anne Murray's "Could I Have this Dance?" And Joe Walsh's "All Night Long." The Urban Cowboy soundtrack is filled with hits from that movie!
I'm so happy that you reacted to this song, which was part of my childhood (at the many late 70's early 80's parties my mother had.) Another song I remember from around this time was by Roxy Music "Love is the Drug", which is so cool - I'm sure you guys would love it ❣
I’ve been patiently waiting two years for you to react to this song and you didn’t disappoint. This song and Georgia are my two favorite Boz Skaggs songs. This reaction made me happy and brought a smile to my face. Thank you.
Boz Scaggs with David Paich, Steve Lukather, David Hungate and the great Jeff Porcaro, all from (about to form) Toto who are all over this album was an awesome combination!
He still tours. I saw him earlier in the month and everything was a treat to the ears and eyes. The band included a drummer, percussionist, key board player, bassist, he played several types of guitar, another guitar player, a sax/miscellaneous artist
Silk Degrees is a front to back perfect album. There are great tracks on other albums as well, but the one you really need to listen to is Loan Me A Dime from his first album. Pure blues written by Fenton Robinson with Duane Allman on guitar.
Great to see you making another visit to the “Silk Degrees” album which does not have a bad song on the whole album. Hope you guys check out the rest of the album. “Georgia”, “It’s Over”, “Jump Street”, “What Do You Want The Girl To Do” are great tracks which you guys should definitely check out.
Now might be the perfect time to request anything from The Dukes Of September. Its a supergroup of music heavyweights, Boz Skaggs, Don Fagen (Steely Dan) and Michael McDonald (Doobie Bros)
Thank you for playing, Boz. I adore his backup singer Mis Monet Owens. She sings a solo of Miss Sun. It takes a ton of talent to bring the light off Boz. He has a Boz Scaggs (Live) 2004 CD/DVD and videos on UA-cam that is just amazing. So smooth and intimate - you feel like you're there. Saw Boz twice. He's one cool cat. You should check out the DVD/UA-cam clips from that show. Good stuff for your channel.
Will ask you once again to listen to Loan Me A Dime. It was originally 45 minutes long. They cut it down around 10 minutes for the album. Duane Allman plays unbelievable guitar on the song. It has horns, organ and a great change of pace in the song! You will not be disappointed. Would love to see your reactions to it!
I'd recommend checking out the studio recording of Lowdown, its amazing. Jo Jo is another you'll love. And for something slow and sexy, Slow Dancer or Harbor Lights. For more of a Motown vibe, You Make It So Hard (To Say No), more funky Angel Baby or Hercules. So glad you played this song, it's one of my favorites!
"What Can I Say" is the first track on the great 1976 "Silk Degrees" LP and, along with "Lowdown," my personal fav. "WCIS" was the 3rd single released from the LP (after "It's Over" (#38) and the smash hit "Lowdown" (#3) and, strangely, didn't perform chart-wise as I hoped it would. "WCIS" peaked @ #42 on the Billboard Hot 100, #68 on the R&B chart & bundled with "Lowdown" @ #12 on the Disco chart.
Back in the early 1970s, a group of my college theater buddies decided to start our own radio station. Being an extremely low budget endeavor, we got free space backstage of an old 1600 seat, art deco vaudeville theater that was built in 1928 and later converted to a movie theater. The city was trying to tear down the theater to build a mall. In an effort to save the theater and being naive college kids, with connections through the radio station, we decided to put on a concert. Our first concert was The Pointer Sisters and Butch Whacks and The Glass Packs. It was so successful, that we put on a second concert with Boz Scaggs and Pablo Cruise. Ultimately, we did not save the theater. 😢. But what a great experience.
HEY guys this is from the LP Silk Degrees from 1976 songs from this LP Lido shuffle Georgia Hey Miss Sun We're all alone (later recorded by Rita Coolidge in 1977) Silk degrees was a a very underrated LP keep up the great work guys.
Silk Degrees is still one of the finest albums out there, timeless songs and every track is a blast. I HIGHLY recommend "Harbour Lights" as your next Boz "The Buzz" Scaggs (as he was called back then) song to hit guys it is beautiful, Ty for hitting the Buzz again. Keep Safe Keep Strong 🦘🦘🦘🦘🎶🎶🎶🎶💖💖💖💖
My first girlfriend broke up with me, an hour later, "It's over" plays on the radio. My friends start cracking up. We ordered 4 pizzas and ate my sorrows away.
Boz Scaggs wrote such great jazzy soul songs. He's still performing too I believe. They put out a CD version of this album with a bonus live cut of this song where you can hear the bass really cranked up. There was a great single he put out called "Miss Sun." More jazz, more soul, more catchy melody.
Not only still performing but he's as good or better than he's ever been. Saw him earlier this year. He's in his late 70's and his voice is PERFECT! And man can this dude play guitar. If you get a chance to see him do not pass it up!
Im a black 23 year old and i have this album in my living room harbor lights is my favorite i love boz scaggs so much my grandma favorite song buy him was a song called a clue he has allot of good hits💖💖💖💖💖
His album "Silk Degrees" was 🔥. I haven't heard this track in a while!! "Low down" & "Breakdown dead ahead" are 2 of my favs. Another, "Loan me a dime" from earlier times with Duane "Skydog" Allman, 1 of the greatest guitarists of all time from the Allman Brothers. 💓you guys!!
If you like Boz Skaggs, you will also love Bobby Caldwell, aka 'Cool Uncle', as master of "blue eyed soul": "What You Would Do for Love", "Darling Open Your Eyes", "My Flame", "Game Over", "Break Away", "Coming Down From Love", "Don't Lead Me On".
Like Lowdown this is one of my favourite Boz Skaggs songs. It then was played contineously and all over the place in Europe in the disco era. When you went out for a dance, with music playing from the BeeGees, Peter Frampton, Gladys Knight & The Pips and the like, you went up to the dance floor and would show all the best dancemoves you had so as to impress the girls for it was such great music not only to listen to but also to dance on. Thanks for reacting to it.
This is one of my favourite Boz Skaggs songs… just love it. It’s such an ‘ear-worm’! Even sometimes I hear (say) the washing machine go ‘d-deh-deh-deh-deh-deh…’ on its cycle , I’ll involuntarily and randomly sing ‘what can I sayyyyy’ !
React to some D Train - "Somethings On Your Mind", "You're The One For Me", "Keep On". React to some Steve Arrington - "Nobody Can Be You", "In the Key of Life", "Feel So Real", "Weak At The Knees", "Slide" (with group Slave), "Just a Touch of Love" (with group Slave), "Watching You" (with group Slave).
This whole album is fire 🔥
Silk Degrees! YES!!
It definitely is!!
-#cheers-- !-
Indeed!
My favorite Album!!! I will follow any reacter that features Boz Scaggs! He has so many beautiful heartfelt songs, I can't begin to list them hear. He also has some not so good. lol he's my FAVORITE artist since the early 70's.
This was a time when every song on an album was good! Pick any song from this album…you won’t be disappointed 🎶
I agree.
Especially Silk Degrees. How many hits off the album? Apart from Boz how good is David Paich?
Amen😊
Yeah , I spent my senior year in High School listening to Silk Degrees. Definitely album of the year for me!
I think i have Silk Degrees album still, it was a great time because i think Meatloaf's Bat out of hell came out around the same time.
This is thE Boz Scaggs album, Silk Degrees! Zero filler. Georgia from this is another unforgettable tune ✌️
This album is packed with hits.....two of my favorite ballads "We're All Alone" and "Harbor Lights"..... Both are fire!
@wpollock1, you'll find that Canadian Bruce Murray (Ann Murray's younger brother) does a great cover version of "We're All Alone" and
Rita Coolidge also does a pretty good version.
Jay & Amber, you'd like his "Jojo" and "Breakdown Dead Ahead" !!

I have had the pleasure of seeing Boz in concert several times over the past 10 years or so here in Minneapolis, and he still sounds great!
I DONT KNOW HOW I MISED THIS 1M 63 AND A HUGE 70DZ FUN2
Boz Scaggs has that smooth R& B Jazzy Sound. What can I say then to play more like "JoJo", "Miss Sun" or "Breakdown Dead Ahead".
Guys - can you pretty PLEASE do Boz's We're All Alone next??? It is seriously one of my top favourite ballads EVER. Much love from Canada! :)
I second that!
I third that!
I think I like his version better than Rita Coolidge, love both though lol
The ultimate slow dance song!
Yes!!!
His album Silk Degrees is a TOTAL vibe. There isn’t one bad song on it🥰
Man I'm so glad I grew up with music like this !!!!
Harbor Lights or Georgia. Under rated . This whole album is awesome.
Those were the 2 songs I was thinking of.
Also "Simone"
Harbor Lights is just so very good.
I'm a huge Boz fan, and Georgia has always been one of my favorites! Amber would love the sax!
Hey J & A, check out Boz’ song Payday. You’ll dig it!
Boz Skaggs is still so cool as he was back then. Great songs, great look and stage presence. And his voice is just so smooth. Great choice to react to. Love him ❤❤❤
Boz Skaggs’ music always sounds so smooth, sophisticated, and classy to me.
Silk Degrees, one of the best album of the 70s
"We're All Alone" from the same album is beautiful. I love Rita Coolidge's cover of that one.
Boz Skaggs did a great collaboration with legendary guitarist Duane Allman called Loan Me A Dime, great jam and one of his very best tunes. Enjoy! 🎵🎸🎤🎹🎷🎶
I have requested this one too my favorite
Pure heaven 😍 ❤️ 😊
I’ve asked them several times to listen to it. They never have.
Every song on the Silk Degrees album was all over the radio back in the mid-70s. My sister bought the album and I may have played it more than she did. Harbor Lights is a wonderful ballad that you'll enjoy immensely.
Blessings.❤
“Love, look what you’ve done to me “ and “Breakdown dead ahead “ a couple of greats!!❤❤
I'm an audio nut. This album is one of my go-tos for testing stereos. This song allows you to do your basic eq settings, then you tweak, if your system can handle the ups and downs of " harbor lights"
I heard Jennifer Warnes album Famous Blue Raincoat was the standard. But Boz is great too.
So many great artists, solo and bands!

Boz has some nice romantic songs that not everyone can pull off so well. He's just plain cool.
The last 8 track I had was the soundtrack of urban cowboy
Takes me back to dancing to this in the 70’s, fantastic album.

A fantastic book of music - my favorites range from the rockin' "Breakdown Dead Ahead" to the smoky mellow "Harbour Lights"
Breakdown dead ahead from the Live cd/ lp 🎉one of my favorites 🎉🎉🎉
Timeless, classic...what's not to love!
This whole album awesome.'What do you want the girl to do" a fav of mine.
He still tours. I saw him earlier in the month and everything was a treat to the ears and eyes. The band included a drummer, percussionist, key board player, bassist, he played several types of guitar, another guitar player, a sax/miscellaneous artist
His 1980 song You Can Have Me Anytime.
I remember like it was yesterday when my sister bought this album!! Love his voice!!!
Silk Degrees is a front to back perfect album. There are great tracks on other albums as well, but the one you really need to listen to is Loan Me A Dime from his first album. Pure blues written by Fenton Robinson with Duane Allman on guitar.
I bought this album when it first came out. What a fantastic memory.
Thanks Robsquad. Saw him 53 years ago and have loved his music since.
Silk Degrees. The Best album of the entire 70s era.

Not enough reactors have tackled Miss Sun, the live version. Can’t beat that performance.
Ain't goin' wrong with Boz Skaggs....so smooth. Keep it up, RSR! Nicely done!

You must listen to Georgia from this album. Actually every song on the album is amazing!
The band "The Silk Degrees" basically became Toto. This album was fire. Every song, whether a pop song, a ballad or a soul groove was awesome.
💓you guys!!
And "Miss Sun" from this album, too.
I grew up with this album!! It was my dad's. I even remember his son's name that's mentioned, Oscar! Hahaha!! I hope you get to "Miss Sun"!
The best Boz Skaggs song is LOAN ME A DIME! You have to listen to it.
Great song, Duane Allman is fire!
Great song, Duane Allman is fire!
This one of the greatest songs of all time. Not just a Boz Skaggs song.
They have done, What You Would do for Love.
Look What You've Done to Me is the Boz Scaggs single you should hear. Amber will love it (Yes, it's a ballad.).
Love the Boz. One of my favorite songs is 'Lone Me A Dime' w/Duane ''Sky Dog" Allman accompanying on guitar. Pure blues.
One of the greatest albums ever made.
How about some “we’re all alone”? Either version, Boz or Rita’s
His album "Slow Dancer" has some great cuts: "Hercules" , "I Got Your Number " to name a couple.
This is the Boz!
Another great tune from an album just about everyone knew or owned back in the day!Smoother than butter!
Like Lowdown this is one of my favourite Boz Skaggs songs. It then was played contineously and all over the place in Europe in the disco era.
Love love love Boz. I cant tell you how many times we have seen in concert.
The 70s was a great time to be alive. And i feel lucky to have growing up then. We had some great music. ❤🎶🎼
Mack loves some Boz Scaggs. If you dug this one then try 'Georgia' next. You'll dig it too.
The studio musicians who played on this album went on to become Toto.
Heard this wonderful song when I was little, brings me back!
You really need to do Loan Me A Dime, this is vintage Boz, 1968 with Duane Allman on guitar
Boz Skaggs has a unique groove.
