    Nice overview!
I found it a little strange that you mentioned the Blofeld, but didn't mention the Quantum (from which the Iridium directly evolved) or the fact that the Iridium desktop has been out for two years and only recently has Waldorf released the keyboard version. The Iridium keyboard is very interesting in that the Iridium was a more affordable version of the Quantum that doubled the polyphony, but dropped the analog filters. They Iridium keyboard has four octaves (you accidentally said five) compared to the Quantum that has five. However, the Quantum does not have polyphonic aftertouch.
I got the Iridium (desktop) almost two years ago and I have it mounted to my keyboard stand via a Vesa mount so I can have it right in my face for programming. I paired it with my ASM Hydrasynth to give it the four-octave polyphonic aftertouch keybed before Waldorf added their own. I find the Hydrasynth + Iridium a great combination.
The Quantum sells for a grand more than the Iridium keyboard and the Iridium desktop sells for over a grand less. Depending on what you want, there are some options. Heck, if you want another 16-voice bi-timbral digital engine, the Hydrasynth Deluxe + Iridum desktop would cost less than the Quantum, it has quadruple the polyphony, and would provide you a six-octave keybed with polyphonic aftertouch. It's a great time to be a synth lover! Peace.

His mentioning of the Blofeld does make sense, since the wavetable is such a big part of the engine. The Sledge is closer to the Quantum and Iridium in the tactile control, controlling between FM and Wavetable and samples, and being able to 'dial in' the sweetspots for what you are going for the splitting and layering also very similar. I really want to see a video showing how much is similar between the Iridium, quantum and sledge 2 black (has the phased lockable #2 LFO, and hotter outputs, plus the same keyboard as the iridium minus poly AT.)

3 years ago I bought the desktop but sold it.
    Bought the Keyboard version.
Its expensive but truly it is by far the best synth ever made.
It has the absolute best interface I’ve ever used. And I’d sell every other synth before I sold my iridium.
I paid full new price and never looked back.
I sold my sequential pro 3 and my Korg prologue to afford iridium and it was worth it. Waldorf deserves all the success over this fantastic machine.

For those wanting a multi-engine "do-it-all" VA/digital it can be had for about $2500 and that to me could be worth it. Personally I would rather have a focused design and as close to knob per function as possible in multiple synths instead of multiple engines on 1 synth, but to each their own. I also do not particularly care about onboard effects, sequencers, or really even patch storage and that probably puts me in a small minority anyway so no surprise a synth like this even with the great sound capabilities would not be for me.

Wait a sec...you're not Zach!! What happened to Zach!? He was here a second ago. Is he in trouble?? You didn't hurt him did you?! I couldn't make if through the whole video, but did you state your demands? Is it money, is that it? And a chopper no doubt (always the choppers...loudest, slowest, most obvious getaway ride ever...it's the headsets isn't...everyone thinks they're so f'n cool). I don't know man, maybe there's still time to give yourself up and end this charade??? Return the Zach in one piece and restore the fragile order once more to the Alamo synth reviews!! Take the drum machines, the outboard gear and all the amp reviews as recompense..but for mods sake bring back the Zach!!
