    I truly am in love with my iridium! It’s a constant happy accident of sound fabric! I am also noticing that this German man is using the English language in a much more coherent way than a large percentage of men I know in Texas! It’s a crying shame that the people of my country have allowed the idea of intellect-as-measure-of-manhood to have diminished as it has.
    Maybe that desert has forced me deeper into my music! Thanks Waldorf! I still love my pulse 2!

    This is a beautiful machine. Amazing engineering, lush and vivid sounds. Such a range of sound with this one unit.
    And these guys are charming in their enthusiasm and mild banter: they aren't trying to be hilarious, but they definitely made me laugh when they were being funny. I hate when presenters either act like its an SNL audition or just sound like a substitute teacher reading out of the book with no tone in their voice. This was a great, natural balance.

    I've had my Iridium for a few weeks now and I'm enjoying it hugely. What a synth! I will be exploring its sound capabilities for years - so many ways to sculpt sound. Build quality seems great too.
    I thought the Iridium would make my Blofeld totally redundant, but that is not the case. There are some characteristics of the Blofeld sound that I have found difficult to replicate in the Iridium - which is just fine - I now have two complementary keyboards! I also use an NW-1 in my modular rack, mainly in sequences.
    Keep up the great work Waldorf!

    Hi guys! The Iridium looks very cool, but I cannot tell if it will be useful for the kind of music I make -- bass house, dubstep, heavier modern music and deep house. There is little to no content showcasing sounds for these kinds of genres. It looks great for cinematic, ambient, etherial stuff. However, there is a HUGE market segment making the kind of music I'm focused on. Can I request one or more videos on the following: Sound demos specifically for bass music genres, AND an in-depth look into LFO modulation. A "holy grail" for many producers is a hardware Serum. We care about being able to draw and loop LFOs (or at least control the shapes), and the ability to apply them to parameters to make those modern bass music sounds. As a comparison -- while at a different price point -- the Korg Modwave looks pretty sick for bass music, as does the Argon8. Both of them are running campaigns targeting this market segment, which Waldorf is not. I *think* the Iridium might be great for these styles, but there's no way to know for sure. Help?

      Take a look at Martin Sturtzer's videos - he's worked with Waldorf and uses the Iridium in his tracks. He also does some dubstep tracks, there may be an overlap between the two.

    31:35 Iridium has 3 sequencers, Arpeggiator , Step sequence and a modulation sequencer.
    I'm quite interested in the parameter sequencer how that fits in and how it works regarding if its pure modulation alone or as the arp and step sequence if it's with note events.

    I have decided after thinking long an hard (about 50 minutes) to buy one after watching this and a few other videos about the Iridium, I do have one suggestion/request as it is something I am not 100% sure about (but I am sure is possible) which is could you do a video on how to pacify our wives/husbands/angry partners please? I am hoping there is a sub menu within System settings or equivalent that will reduce/cancel the ear bashing imminently due or perhaps this can be something implemented in a later firmware update. Thanks!

They have replaced it 3 times now since you will not respond, but now that this one arrived without the screen even in it they won't replace it, and said they cannot get Waldorf to even respond to them about anything. • @2112jonr
      @2112jonr 2 роки тому +1

      Yes, it has MPE and aftertouch. However, the pads are just on-off switches. To take advantage of MPE and aftertouch, you need an external midi controller or keyboard that supports one or both.

  • @junkiebass
    @junkiebass 3 роки тому +1

    Well got mine and after a few hours the left part of the screen started fading out, the screen became less responsive, the Particle button on Osc 1 was broken and the rest of the Osc buttons barely worked. Sucks dropping almost $3k on a synth and having to return it after a few hours, and they aren't sure when I will get my new one either.

    • @2112jonr
      @2112jonr 2 роки тому

      Almost all products suffer from a percentage of initial defects. However, Waldorf seem to be suffering from a higher percentage of these than any other synth manufacturer. They need to get on top of it swiftly instead of shipping more and more new synths, otherwise they'll suffer severe reputational damage. I hope they succeed as their synths are excellent.

    • @junkiebass
      @junkiebass 2 роки тому

      @@2112jonr oh it gets worse. 6 months later I received my replacement. After 3 or 4 months it died. I went to file a warranty claim, and they told me just send it back to rhe seller they fix it.
      I know that's not the case, so called the seller. They said Waldorf keeps doing that to them instead of honoring their warranty.
      I've read several other people online of having the same issue.
      It's sad we are a professional studio, and buy a lot of gear regularly. This is our first, and will be our last Waldorf purchase.

    Okay, my new iridium is on it's way. I've been watching videos and reading the manual. With regards to updating the software (which is usually required right out of the box) the manual says:
    " Do not under any circumstances turn off Iridium while the update step is in progress. A complete loss of data may occur and it will be impossible for you to make your machine work again!"
    This is a little concerning. Our power went off twice today!! That isn't the normal here, but it can happen. Do I need to connect my iridium to my car batter when I'm doing an update?

    • @Rightly_Divided
      @Rightly_Divided 3 роки тому +2

      While that may be concerning, I accidently slammed a knob against my desk. It was my whole body weight. The knobs are DURABLE. I actually was able to bend it back in place and now don't even notice and it functions all the same.

    • @2112jonr
      @2112jonr 2 роки тому +1

      That's exactly the same for any synth and any computer that requires an update.
      Why would you be so concerned about this only for a Waldorf device?
      Seriously, if your power is that unreliable, get a UPS and power conditioners for your gear, it will save it from brownouts too and extended the life of all of your gear.

      Why not make your own choices and stop butting in on the choices other people make? You'd not like that if your government acted the same way towards you as you're acting towards others. And you're very typically being too dimwitted to recognise that different places in the world, even within the same country are coming out of the pandemic at different rates, due to stupid early decisions by people like Trump.
