- In this video tutorial, the Behringer Wing Effects Tutorials explore the Precision Limiter for the Behringer Wing digital mixer. This limiter is modeled after the Sony Oxford Dynamics limiter section, known for its use in mastering to control peak levels and enhance volume, density, and presence without sacrificing transient and dynamic information.
Key features and controls of the Precision Limiter are explained:
Input Gain: Sets the input gain into the limiter, allowing adjustments up to +18.0dB.
Auto Gain: Compensates for wider volume dynamic ranges in the program signal.
Out Gain: Determines the limiter's output level post-compression.
Squeeze: Enhances overall loudness and presence.
Knee: Adjusts the limiter's knee for a smoother limiting threshold.
Attack: Sets the attack time for the limiter's response.
Release: Determines the release time for attenuation after crossing the threshold.
Various settings and configurations are discussed, from achieving transparency to hardwall limiting and maximum loudness. The Precision Limiter is recommended for scenarios like online streaming, recording feeds, and video recording feeds to maintain strict output limits and enhance audio quality.
Overall, it's a comprehensive guide to using the Behringer Wing's Precision Limiter for optimal audio results in different applications, including live streaming.

Good video
Hi Drew, there's a mastering rack on the wing. I think it includes maybe 4 effects in just that one rack. I think it includes a vacuum tape, an eq an exciter, and this limiter. Dont remember exactly. but that's the one I use. Maybe you could do a tutorial on that. It seems to have everything necessary for a good master for livestream. My setup is similar except I use 6 subgroups instead of mains, send the subgroups to 3 mains one for livestream one for the subs and the other for FOH. Mastering is on the livestream.
yes, I'm utilizing that Mastering chain the Wing includes in it's FX options, though I'm studying this video and Drew's recent stream mix video to learn how I can better set up my church's livestream mix
This is a great video thanks Drew
Hey Drew, can you do a video on differences between Aux and Buses, like when to use one over the other or even in conjunction?
Thank you Drew
We have our stream as one of the main busses then we have our DCA as the feed sending out to the main busses
So there's similarities with everything you illustrated but i still find our Livestream drum sound totally distorted
I don't if you could make a special videos for the setups for Livestream mix like how the micro drum and keys should be setup for a better stream sound
I am thinking to add this to in ear bus send. I'm using a behringer pm1 for wired in ear and this thing is quiet. I feel like this would prevent peaking if someone mess with the bus.
Drew! I was trying to do this but my stream was getting too squashed as if it was compressing my whole mix instead of limiting the volume. I ended up using the Auto Rider plugin that the Wing has that adjusts a fader automatically to reach a target db output and wouldn't get the "compressed" sound from the limiter.
Hey Drew! Can you do a video on external Fx'es? Including using sends/returns with a stageconnect? Can we direclt send a directOut to those things as well?
Hi Drew,
Loving your videos! Is there any way you could share the stems for the track you are using please so I can use it as a virtual sound check/mix practice please?
Thank you so much! :)
Dan
Drew please can you do mastering a 2 track song on the Wing.
QUESTION FOR X32 USERS
I have an insert effect (precision limiter) on my mixbus livestream, but it only affects the mixbus in prefader mode... when i switch it to post insert, the volume goes back down?
Is there a secret that I am missing on this...?
Thoughts?
Can you do the same video for the x32?
Hi Drew,
We have been using your videos to train our new people coming in. We do have an issue in that our livestream music is awesome, utilize the limiter, but our livestream speaking is very dry and needs reverb. Any thoughts on adding reverb to a stream buss?
tutorial en español por favor...gracias
Drew, will this also work on the x32?
Hey Drew, Can you use your powers to have Behringer add the ability to edit custom controls in the Wing Edit P L E A S E !!!!!! @Behringer 🤞🙏🤞 Thanks🙂
This presentation has given me some Nagets that will lead me through Streamline Events during Church service
