Hey! Joe Satriani is more phenomenal than we realized. He's playing the guitar and drums at the same time! What an amazing talent! lollol😆😂
Richie Kotzen is a beast. One of my all time favorites.
Satch and Nuno don't hold a candle to Richie. Guitar monster.
@@angusorvid8840actually nuno is the wax of the candle 🕯️ he’s the goat
@angusorvid8840 have you heard 3 sides by Extreme? Specifcally, the last 3 tracks? Nuno wrote every part, symphony and all. None of these cats did that as far as I know. Nuno is on a whole different level.
@@nickmenza2671Lol they're all great, Richie's first 3 instrumental albums are fire and even more impressive is his work with Greg Howe and Vertu if you want fusion stuff.
But it's like he kept himself at bay from shredding here
Bassist and drummer have the patience of a saint
😂
You can see them look at each other as if to say "Did our contract say anything about getting overtime pay?"
This drummer is 71 year old.. would you believe that? ( It's real.. )
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@och70 🤣😂
This could be one hell of a G3 tour lineup , Richie, Joe & Nuno easily in my top 10 all time favorite guitar players!
Indeed, Master Joe Satriani has always been a role model for all guitarists in the world, he always embraces and invites you to play with him... always success to you Master Joe, Nuno and Richie...🔥🔥☕🚬🇮🇩
Fuck man. This could be a helluva G3 tour.
Richie is so scary good. When he was with Mr. Big I saw him cover a Paul Gilbert solo that Paul taps and he shredding through it without tapping. Just with some crazy hand stretch and was nuts. The guy can play anything.
Richie Kotzen best guitar tone and best solo, he has more feeling
What is Joe even doing. He is equally as good for his style. This is NOT Satch's style.
@@guitarttimman he was in the moment matching the energy around him and doing it very well I thought. I'm a large Satch fan but I'm a huge Richie fan and have watched a ton of live jam session stuff by him. He's a stellar improv guy because he usually even improvises his own solos when playing live and does very well with guys who can think on their feet in the "hey, follow me" style. Joe is more methodical in the way he conceptualizes music and I feel like he still nailed it and the two were very complementary to each other.
@@jopshua4703 Right. But Satch's style is more suited for jazzy prog rock. Richie is more southern based. I think they're both great, but they do have very different styles. It's like apples and oranges.
@@guitarttimman I really would never have considered using that word to describe Richie other than the Telecaster lol. He's got such a broad range of sounds I really can't even corner what I would describe his general solo vibe as.
@@jopshua4703 my point is that the two have very VERY different styles that are absolutely unalike in every imaginable way, and there's no way to compare them. They are both great for what they do.
IMHO...Satch is the Hendrix of shredders. Then come the younger guys that took it to another level.
Nuno and Kotzen are phenomenal players.
The Hendrix of shred is Eddie Van Halen. He’s the one who influenced all the shredders of the 80s.
@@KickflipGnasty nuno is a great player thats done nothing great. and hes off his nut on coke the entire time.
Fender / Ibanez / Washburn 🤘
3 beasts on guitar
I hate these kind of jams, but I love seeing Kotzen and Satriani on the same stage. Richie can hold his own with anybody.
Why do you hate them?
because he's edgy
@@BlitzB33
Damn, this is something i didn't expect to see. Hell yeah! Rock n roll!!
joe..nuno..kotzen...awesome!! ❤🔥
Joe is another level....Clearly the GOAT !
LOL, please stop ha ha ha ha
I love the 3 of them and they are amazing, but for me Richie has the edge has an all-round player. Maybe he his not as famous as Satriani and Nuno, but if you listen to his discography... just wow!! Besides he is an amazing singer. 🙌🙌
His solo discography is extremely prolific and eclectic, never mind his great "hired gun" work with Mr Big and Poison (he arguably wrote their most mature album native tongue at 21) or collaborative projects like Forty Deuce, Wilson Hawk, or the Winery Dogs. He's been recording all of his own material since like 06' I think? All parts and tracks. Hell of a producer too. He's a gift to all of us if you have the ear to recognize and appreciate the many ways he is just ridiculously talented. His lyrics can seem like they lack depth at times but I feel like it makes them more broadly relatable and I think he's the only person I've ever heard cover Chris Cornell properly when he did Cochise a few years ago at the Tony MacAlpine cancer benefit.
Clearly I'm a bit of a fan boy 😂
@@jopshua4703You put it into words. 👏👏
I have a knack for trivial knowledge. 😂 I wouldn't say I'm anywhere near his biggest fan but I definitely have gone very deep into his catalog for someone who only discovered him 8-9 years ago and hasn't been following him since the shred days. I bet I was still wearing diapers when he got his first big deal. 🤣
I first heard Chype Fluxx on a compilation album and then the collaboration albums with Greg Howe. I was so impressed that I checked a lot of his later solo work and his work with Family something but it never made an impression, it just bored me stiff.
In addition to being a world class player he is a world class singer too by the way. I mean, really up there.
I've been a fan of Richie Kotzen for many years. I always wanted to see him in G3. This video is sensational. Thanks for publishing. Three guitar gods. But it's impressive how "ordinary" stars Nuno and Kotzen become next to Satriani. It's like Hades and Poseidon compared to Zeus.
Indeed! ❤🎉 🔥🔥🔥
Absolutely... A kindred spirit! Joe is the guitar heroes' guitar hero. After watching joe, an immediate switch to somebody else makes that clear🤔😃
That was a pretty epic JAM!! All 3 brought their own distinctive style A game to the party. I loved it
Nuno is the best~!!
That’s a magical gig!!! My fav G3 Richie ❤Nuno❤Joe❤
That kotzen tone ❤
I love the jam sessions. Pure talent They all respect each other. ❤
Awesomeness!!!
Amazing! Thanks so much for this!
Love this lineup of talented guys, and how not one of them tries to outshine the other!! They are all KIngs of Rock to me!
This is so amazing 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Wow!, Richie Joe and Nuno top❤
Nice. Thanks for sharing! I could watch performances like this all day. As a guitar instructor, Satch is always down for swapping leads and setting the tone for the rest of the round before it circles back to him. He always has something up his sleeve and calls audibles for everyone else to follow up with. Watching him and Steve Vai hoedown is a hoot too. I do have one question for Nuno though: why is it that you always looked baked? No. No need to answer... I already know. Just keep being Nuno (the man is definitely an original and distinctive in his play--- one knows who it is when they hear him!), and make Pakenuga (who knows that one?) and of course, King Edward (may he shred in peace) proud!! Now if you would all please excuse me, I suddenly have this hankering for throwing the headphones on and tapping a cold amp..... (Correct. I am not single!!). Hmmm.... wonder why?
Master richie as blues man rockin this gigs!!
I agree 100%
I was there! It was awesome!!
all excellent musicians! loved the part where Nuno did the talkbox!!!
Sooo good!!!!
OmG the tele is between the up down.. and he is the beast🔥
Doesn't get much better than this. That's a G3 I would be first in line for.
Love that Kotzen rips that solo then Joe has to do his own finger picked solo to show he can do it too!
Bello/Magnifico.👑👑👑👑👑👑🌡️
Nuno has the best Tone i think, clarity and in your face
Kotzen does not use a pick.
😅
@@realscience948 Why are you on here to talk smack about Nuno? Lol
@@KickflipGnasty I never said a word!!!
@@KickflipGnasty let me preface openly that I am a big fan of the other two and not very knowledgeable about Nuno's catalog because his style doesn't speak to me and feels more like "mindless wanking", but it seems the Nuno fans are wearing rose colored glasses in this comments section. He almost felt out of place to me in this jam but his big fans are acting like he stole the show here (by not fitting in very well).
amazing
Nuno saved the day.
Love to all those comments who gave love to all the guitarists in the video.
Man, that's a line-up!!
Great trío!!!
It could be cool to see Vai with them
Was given this cassette tape Kotzen Fever Dream in the early nineties..say 1993 and Richie Kotzen was probably only nineteen when that album was released. He's always been phenomenal as was Joe Satriani from the late eighties. But Kotzen has also a brilliant set of pipes!! The man can sing!
Show !!!!
Satriani is an alien. His style sound, harmony and guitar are unique...
Left me with a never ending grin.
The heat in every note
High high high
The best👍👍👍
Brian Beller and Kenny Arnoff... Rhythm section from Heaven...
Great jam
❤❤
Joe is very good!!! Super colossal!!! haha
ngl this was the first time i really enjoyed a going down jam, that was kickass.
What a combo, I want to write them a song
They really could make a project together and hit the roads on a world tour. It would be amazing!
Great mix. JS should get these 2 more often . Different style altogether. And of course not forgetting GG ❤Sweet. And pls not always Vai whom no diff from JS himself IMHO😂
super stars!!
👍👍👍
Holy smokes now that’s a jam
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
This has to be the next G3!
Nuno is set apart because he has his own style. The old guys took from blues or jazz. Nuno is a mash of everything under the sun, my all time favorite player!
Richie's style leans towards a jazz fusion vibe when he's improv soloing but you really can't pin him down with one style if you're familiar with his catalog (and a lot of it changed when he ditched the pick and started developing his sort of shred fingerstyle). It takes a while to get through his discography, I think he's approaching 30 solo albums now and probably about 20 are new releases, about a third are compilations or remakes that are more suitable for touring than the original studio versions a younger man recorded. Check him out a little deeper if you've got time. I love how all 3 have such unique sounds and could play off each other casually (but Richie and Joe looked a lot more comfortable from experience taking a walk like they did). Richie sure looked like he was the maestro there for a while, he does a lot of cool follow me stuff like this with his solo band.
Nuno is older than Richie.
@@jopshua4703 Nuno came out of the gate different than everybody before or since. He didn't develop or evolve; he's just Nuno. You would have to have listened to him from then til now. He's just got more fire, passion and maturity backing him in those fingers, but he's always been this Guitar beast!
@@MartinMaat Your point?
@@songbird9978 The OP set Nuno apart from "the old guys".
AWESOME JAM by those guitar gods.. Amazing. Thanks for posting. It is nice to see Joe with new G3 faces all the time.
Indeed ,something new ❤🎉🔥🔥🔥
This was my intro to Mr Kotzen .... HOLY MOTHER OF PEARL !
While you’re here in you tube go search some winery dogs. Then some smith Kotzen. You’re welcome.
If you fall in love like I did get ready for a long ride. I was still finding "new to me" stuff he's done like 4-5 years after discovering him and listening to his material almost exclusively (I listen to albums straight through until I almost know every note in my head so I occasionally get a few months of play out of a single album). He's got some stuff he contributed on but his name isn't featured so well (Wilson Hawk, Forty Deuce, and the self translated Gundam Ai Senshi ZxR album which is a super cool Japan only release that I only see available on a used CD that'll pop up on Amazon or old bootleg UA-cam videos. I know nothing about the series but he's huge in Japan so he was playing to his audience with that and I still loved it.
@@jopshua4703 nice .. thanks for that brother.
WE SMILES TWICE!
Cool! People may forget , Kotzen was on the 80’s shrapnel label, so you knew he could rip with the best of them
G3!!
Waw kotzennn
im very biased, but everytime i hear satch during a jam, he always stands out the most to me.
Dw man same here XD
I like how casually Richie already knew where he was going during Joe's lick so he was right on cue when Nuno fumbled that one like he forgot it was his turn for a sec. Not knocking Nuno's technical abilities a bit, he's amazing, but he didn't look anywhere near as comfortable as the other two (and they were much more fluid blending their phrasing styles while still maintaining their own essence). Richie's done too many collaborations with an array of stellar players so you'd be hard pressed to find someone that would make him sweat.
Thankfully, Albert King's song "Goin Down" hasn't grown exhausting over the years. I'm sure star guitar players are thrilled to play the song again in a star-studded jam.
SLEEPER ALERT: Ritchie Kotzen - dude burns.
The bass drum microphone is clipping like crazy
Do an album together and take my money!!!
3G❤❤❤
Richie Kotzen is the ultimate musician, the best guitarist alive, excellent singer and songwriter, I can't find other artist as talented and complete than him.
I can. Ian Thornley from Big Wreck. Better songwriter as well.
Эх, жаль, сильный перегруз по звуку на бочке((( И гитару Джо хуже слышно.
А так - класс, высший пилотаж! Все крутые! И каждого давно люблю, как и многих других.
R.I.P. Eddie Van Halen...
wowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww
I saw Satriani once and he came up to me and said "Where's Harry Potter??? Where's Harry Potter???" I ran away and went looking for Harry to let him know that Voldemort's after him!
Also Bryan Beller and Kenny Arnoff!!!
Loves me some tube filled Marshalls no fractal shite for the boys that night
Bettencourt pullin some Tommy Bolin tricks
All praise To theCreator who make this 3 beautiful monster!!!!! 🤘🔥💜
I felt that Kotzen won this little battle. Nuno and Joe brought the fire also but there's just something about Richie's note choice and tone.
Yes, no pick is different.
Love Nuno. Satch is great though too relient on legato licks. These jams somehow manage to always end in boring noodling.
Satch master
CAN I GO UP FOR A CHANGE ?😅😅😂😂😂
Richie is a beast, improve to boot! not diggin the other guys stuff
Dam all great but I liked Ritchie's tone the best!!!
Okay let's hear some suggestions other than voodoo child
High gain vs 2 over drive
Feel like Nuno get lost in the timing haha
Mmm nope he’s pretty fuckin right there.
Who’s singing…..?
Those three guys on stage and the engineer is still pushing the kick so hard it’s clipping. Live sound engineers have got to start understand the kick drum rarely, if ever, plays the top line. Just because it’s easy, doesn’t mean you should do it.
Who's singing?
The guitars.
The Singer the synthétiseur on the right side.
Joe has a mid range weirdness in his tone Ritchie takes the win here
Did the sound guy fall asleep? Completely ignored Nunos talk box request
El padre de todos se llama Joe Satriani.
They’re using actual cords!
