@@noobpyrotech9991 I own the Rosewood single piece glass rod. It works as a spinning rod, but it really feels more like a mid-range solid glass ice fishing rod. Hey vue! Unfortunately on my model it does not… I do think they have other models that do that though? It’s kind of complicated figuring out what you might actually get in terms of the handle from them so if you’re set on purchasing one of these rods I’d make sure to ask them. Imho, the rod performance is great, the price isn’t, and the build quality can be so so… I still think it’s a fun rod to use though and I quite like the action it has from the S glass used. Cheers my friend!
@@vuexiong9168 hey Vue! So this is the hard part about glass rods in the “budget” price range… you could spend the same money and get a made in china jdm rod like the majorcraft Finetail glass but afaik that rod is a good deal faster in action than the glassfin is. Alternatively, if you go down in price and chase other aliexpress glass rods you run into the chances of purchasing a rod that is much slower in action. There are a few rods made by aioushi that do look similar to the glassfin but I haven’t had a chance to really do a deep dive in all of their selection as they have quite a few offerings. I would say if you can stand the asking price and the potential mishaps in build quality that this rod is very fun to use and a pleasure. Out of curiosity what are you looking for out of a glass rod? Cheers my friend!
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL most of my bfs trout rods are carbon. Just looking to try glass but not looking for anything too slow. If major craft is the way to go. I'll check them out. Thanks for a great review.
@@vuexiong9168 hey vue! I think if you want better build quality then yea the Mc Finetail glass is something I’d consider. It will be much faster than all glass rods though as it is a blend and has a bit of carbon in it. Hope that helps and cheers my friend!
Have a similar problem with connecting the rod sections. Could you please specify the exact name of the glue you used? And how well does the glue hold the parts, a year later?
Hey bike! I used bob smith maxi-cure CA glue because it’s a bit thicker of a CA glue and I was hoping it would take a bit longer to cure giving me time to push the male spigot down into the blank. This didn’t quite happen as I imagined it so I’d probably look for a CA glue that specifically says slow cure on it. I checked Amazon and it looks like loctite has an extra time control version or zap has a slo-zap version. I’d probably try one of these. I’d still try to work as fast as possible though. Add a small even amount to a piece of glossy printed on cardboard(this is so no little paper fibers stick to the spigot) and then dab the outer circumference of the tip of the male spigot and kind of spread it so it’s a thin even layer on the piece of glossy cardboard. Then jam that end into the rod blank. The excess glue can be shaved off carefully with an xacto blade or if you’re daring enough wiped off but wiping off the glue will likely trap some fibers of whatever you’re using to wipe it off in it. The glue so far has held very well. The manufacturer actually uses some sort of liquid epoxy and CA glue seems to be their suggested glue to use. Hope that helps! Cheers my friend!
Hey there! I agree the website is a bit odd and I’ve communicated that they should look into updating it. They seem to be more concerned with their rod production than the web design so there’s that… while I didn’t personally purchase my rod off of the website I will say that the unit that was sent to me was directly from their company. @@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL oh okay awesome I'm gonna definatly join and thank you for letting me know I guess I will pull the trigger I was needing a longer rod for trout since all I have around me is lakes and big rivers plus I can use it for a crappie jigging rod

@@duck4389 no worries! Just wanted to clarify the question. While the rod is capable of 1g casting I think the sweet spot is around 2-4g for this rod. Of course, I could just be a novice at casting 1g with this rod and another person might be better at it. If you’re looking for distance with trout magnets I think there are better rods for that. Ooc how far are you looking to cast trout magnets?
@@duck4389 I think with the right person 30 ft seems possible. I think I’ve been getting around 25-30 ft with a 1g practice lure and I’m not that great of a distance caster apparently haha. I’ve been comparing myself to some other friends and they, on average, seem to get around 20% further casts than myself with any given setup. I’m wondering if it’s my casting style or perhaps the line I’m using as my rod/reel setups are fairly similar to what they use. Imho though, this rod isn’t really meant for distance casting but more for accurate shorter distance casts. For something that excels at both accuracy and distance you might want to look at the taller version of this rod. I believe it’s a 4’11” but don’t quote me on that. It’s not too much taller but it should help with getting as much distance as you can out of the rod.

I've only used it twice as an open-water rod because it's just not very engaging. The DANKUNG GLASSFIN is a very different rod and Vastly superior. It is absolutely worth the extra money over the Rosewood.
@@4mackle Thanks for the feedback. I just got a Mallvos Plum in the mail today. I can use the plum for ultralight applications. I might get the glassfin for slightly heavier lures. Most people are back and forth on the lure weight for the glassfin. I currently have a Zephyr and have an Elf on the way. I might get an higher end BFS reel eventually as well.
Watching sir from Philippines nice fishing rod
Hello there! The rod is a very fun and very accurate rod. For the money it really is a great value imho. Thank you for your comment and please let me know if you have any questions!
Excellent video, what would be the best budget reel for this rod?
Hey Herve! That’s kind of an open ended question haha. What are you looking for in your reel? What’s your budget? Are you looking at low profile reels or round reels? There’s lots of factors for looking at reels and it’s not quite a one size fits all answer imho. Sorry it’s not quite a straight answer… cheers!
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL thanks for the reply, i understand it's a matter of preference up to 100€ i was thinking soloking acura would be a good option or is there a better option in your opinion? sorry new to BFS trying to learn
@@hervefreire definitely a great option! I do have a review video out on the Acura and lmk if you have any questions about it. Cheers!
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL only one question gear 7.1 our 8.1?
I actually quite like the 7.1 ratio but some say the 8.1 feels smoother. I can’t verify that. I think the 7.1 has a good retrieve rate with an approximate IPT(inch per turn) rate of around 22. Hope that helps!
Is this what you threw the ambassadeur on?
Hey yep! Yep! I've had the ambassadeur on this rod as well as a few others. I do enjoy this combo though as it feels very "old school" yet it is a very modern setup. Cheers my friend!
Have a Genius and Zephyr that did not fit a certain bfs rod seat, wil these 2 reels fit onto this Dankung rod ?
Hey Peter! Yes they will fit this glassfin rod seat. By any chance was the rod they didn’t fit an acehawk ag venom?
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL Thanks for fast reply, sent you email.
Does the rod section at the handle come off too
@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL what kind of value do you see these rods at? What could be better around the same price range. Glass preferred
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL thank you very much! 👍
@@Bikeshredder my pleasure! Cheers!
I am wanting a dankung rod but I dont know if I trust the website it is a good place to buy rods?
Hey there! I agree the website is a bit odd and I’ve communicated that they should look into updating it. They seem to be more concerned with their rod production than the web design so there’s that… while I didn’t personally purchase my rod off of the website I will say that the unit that was sent to me was directly from their company. In the Facebook group I am a moderator of quite a few people have bought directly off their website. I encourage you to join and ask and see what their experience has been. Search for “BFS BUDGET FINESSE FISHING” on Facebook. Hope that helps!
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL oh okay awesome I'm gonna definatly join and thank you for letting me know I guess I will pull the trigger I was needing a longer rod for trout since all I have around me is lakes and big rivers plus I can use it for a crappie jigging rod
@@ireject1203 sounds good! The rod isn’t specifically made for jigging per say but it’ll do the job. I would say keep it to under 5g if you can because the rod doesn’t load efficiently above that weight range imho. Hope that helps and cheers!
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL Big help buddy greatly appreciated btw I'm new to the bfs world and your channel has been a great help so keep up the great work
@@ireject1203 I appreciate it and am glad I was able to help you! Cheers my friend!
how far can you cast a trout magnet?
Hey there! Are you referring to my ability to cast a trout magnet? Or do you mean is the rod capable of casting a trout magnet?
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL Sorry, meant to ask how far the rod was able to throw the trout magnet
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL Just wanted to see if it's versatile enough to cast
The link doesn't work
Hmmmm… not sure why the link is broken but go to www.dankung.com and search for the glassfin. There are several models available but the website is a bit hard to navigate admittedly… If you want to use the coupon code you are more than welcome to but there is also no pressure to do so. I believe it saves you like $5 off of the final price. Hope that helps! Let me know if you can’t find it still. Cheers!
Ferrule is not good enough, But generally speaking , its Ferrule is more solid than Anglo glass rod's ferrule
Other than the butt section ferrule coming out I have had no issues. Reattaching was quite easy as well. I wish I could have an Anglo glass rod to test against but I am not willing to pay their $550 asking price. Also, I believe they stopped production of their rods recently?
@@BFSFISHINGCHANNEL they not stop making , generally , users have to wait half year to get a rod after payment
@@FocusAndEnjoyCreekFishing yikes… that’s a long time to wait! I hope it’s certainly worth it but it does look like a well made product. I still think $550 is still a very high asking price though…
yoooooooo!!!
Hey man! 🙌🙌🙌

Did they? I did suggest that they work on updating it but I guess they haven’t… not quite sure what they’re doing tbh…
