I went to the three shows he gave in Chile and every time he played this song the only thing that I could do was to shout the lyrics like if that was the last minutes of my life. Fucking beautiful moments and a fucking beautiful song of despair. Marr is great.
Brilliant version. Johnny Marr has been making my heart swell since 1984 and I hope he continues to do so for many many years to come. One of my absolute heroes
A total Eargasm. I was a few months from 15 when this came out, so I missed out The Smiths. This song opened the door to discovering the treasures created by Johnny. Brilliance. It just gets into your DNA and fuses with it. Beautiful.
Correct he was. My point was that it isn't a Johnny Marr song, it was written by Electronic (B.Sumner, N.Tennant, J.Marr) and released in 1989 as the first single before the brilliant debut album was released in 1991. In my opinion the 12" version of it is the best version.
+Kperson123 The way I see it, I provide a service for those who are not so keen on facts and may have been to young when this song was released. Example: If Morrissey plays "There is a light that never goes out" live, is that then a Morrissey song...? In my eyes it's a Smiths song.
He was in Electronic though, he was still one of the co-writers of the record? It sounds better being sung by the Pet Shop Boys mind, but it's his guitar that makes this version amazing.
Will I ever tire of Johnny Marr's guitar playing. No, I dont think so.
The passage from 3:40 to 5:51 is a panteistic ritual of life! Pain and pleasure for the soul !
omg you are so right
Lololl

Morrissey, what do you think of the new Electronic single, 'Getting Away with it'? "Aptly named".

Hi! Does someone know at which show this recording was done? Thanks
The live one
Seems like this LP is Manchester, but song is on current set list; played at several 'Comet' shows
If someone could write the guitar tab for the solo, that would be great ;)
I have it if you still need it, LOL
@@deepfocus888 😆👌
3:10 to 5:52 ... S2
Why the crap is Johnny Marr NOT playing LA? Does he hate us that much?
Too close to Morrissey 😂
Joseph James too close to home and it's too near the bone ;) xd
