Volvo has always been underrated as a young lads car... they've made stunning cars in the past and were never afraid to push the boundaries. Personally I like this one... Great review Dave Darren
Darren that's a really good point, rarely do you see young 'lads' driving a Volvo, however it would make sense as I've no doubt insurance would be cheaper than on a golf or something similar. It's amazing how young people have a stigma against them. This could all change with a facelift though?!? *Side note - the manual gearbox is far more engaging to drive which could maybe entice some of the younger generations. Thanks. Dave
I have a 2017 T3, no reverse camera, but, full keyless, and proper keyless, I literally never have to take the key out of my pocket, I also have the drivers electric memory seats, LED lights are fantastic. I actually really like the cluster on the dash, I actually use allot of the buttons and features and it is awesome to have these settings available immediately as opposed to accessing everything on a touchscreen. I absolutely love the car, with 117k mileage, it is going strong and looks and feels like a new car.
No new V40 hatchback. Volvo unfortunately want to replace the V40 with some kind of crossover/coupe. This could be the last hatchback from Volvo in a long time... 😕
I love how spacious my V40 is, the glove compartment is extremely deep and there also all manner of additional storage areas such as the pouch on the front of the driver's seats. My one criticism is those cupholders in the centre console. If you have a moderately sized bottle or flask and you drive a manual, just forget about them. They interfere way too much with shifting to be useful.
I've been using the waterfall console space for 12 years on my c30 and i love it. It holds all my favourite dead artists cd's :D. Which, redio aside, if you love music, you're still using the cd player.
I'm in love with a car since 2012 when was officially presented and changed forever Volvo design's. However not sure if I'll buy it now or wait for the next generation which is coming soon. I also agree with you about the entertainment system, Volvo could have updated it with the facelift. Anyway Very nice review! Congrats and keep doing great! ;)
The R Design version is more sporty and aggressive. This car is certainly better overall than an "Renault" A Class or a 1 Series from the same generation (early 2010s) - apart from the driving dynamics/steering of the RWD 1 Series, I see nothing the V40 isn't better at - and that at a fairly lower price. Also, it's a bit silly comparing it to the likes of the XC40 that came out a couple of years ago.
Nobody? You mean the more than half a million units sold? The Mazda 3 is a decent car but not as refined as this, the diesel engines suck, the petrol engines are slow af, and the design is a bit lacking, looks like a Civic from the 90s.

Mine is from 2014. Kinda cool they made it for so long. I have been driving it for so many years yet it still feels relevant and somewhat newish.

Isn't it a 6 speed auto?
Funny to think I’m looking to buy one and will cost me £8k ish
When is the new one coming out?
No exact date has been released for Ireland yet, but hopefully early to mid 2020.
I have been hearing that there will be no successor to the V40. Volvo might come out with something in the C-segment, but it won't be a hatchback.
damn that center console looks awful with that 90s style numpad...
Is the sexy AF guy included?
Wtf
Now I know why nobody buys volvo!! Very poor specs the new mazda 3 hatchback is far more better then this car.
Stfu
Nobody!? LOL Volvo has never sold so much like today in the World.
Lol the Mazda 3 has terrible corrosion protection 🤣
