The PlayStation Portal is WORSE than the WiiU Gamepad. The WiiU's Gamepad directly connected to the System, while the PS5 can ONLY connect to the portal through WiFi
Handheld is definitely the future imo. I've chased graphics since I started gaming, but I bought a Switch a month ago and I don't think I've ever enjoyed gaming as much as I am now.
I like the Steam Deck Oled and I have gotten through many games I didn't feel like playing on PS5. I also can Remote Play on it and that's how I play Warframe or Horizon Forbidden West (it also has HDR which not many handhelds have). The portal is cheaper, but I pay more to have more for the Deck and I can play NFS MW from PS2 and the amazing Toy Story Racer PS1. My friend have a Portal and he liked it, but for me it should've been a successor to PS Vita.
I don't have a Steam Deck, but I've heard plenty of great things about it! And yeah, I think Sony should've made a successor to the Vita rather than the Portal
If handheld gaming changes forever, its not going to be because of the Playstation Portal. I own one and i rarely use it unless i am laying down or on the toilet (lets be real) and if you think im paying 17 dollars a month to be able to play ps plus premium games on the cloud is a cashgrab if ive ever seen one because most players already buy ps plus for $10 and the fact that this device is so freaking limited, makes me look at sony like they dont care about their playerbase
I'm with you on that. I think that the overall shift in the industry is what the big change is, and the Portal is Sony just dipping their toes in the water before going all in
Everyone forget about the fact that modern phones got like 4gb of RAM, 8 times the amount of ram on the Xbox 360. A modern phone could run games locally.

You make a really good point there!

I definitely agree with you on that! The Switch is probably my favorite gaming console of all time!

That's very true! I'm not sure how well they run, but I know that you can play Death Stranding and Warframe on some of the newer iPhones
