    Very impressiv!!! I think a no-dachi in this size and from bloomery steel has never been made outside of Japan before. I hope, the yaki-ire went well and I can't wait to see you doing the polish and koshirae.

      Hardening turned out excellent. I've seen hamon before. Due to the length and weight, sharpening the blade is more demanding than usual. I work in parts. It will take a while. I will definitely show you the result.

    How do you get the clay to stay on the blade? I can never get it to stick.

      an aqueous solution of sodium silicate (chemical formula Na2SiO3) and clay. The procedure can be seen several times in the videos. It holds perfectly.
