  • Hey Guys N Gals how are you all today? This is my 300th public uploaded video so i hope you like it. Nothing too exciting just a couple of fridge compressors today. I found one in a scrap bin as you'll see and my friend gave me the other one. These compressors contain both Copper and Aluminum so i thought i would mix it together and make a nice golden Aluminum Bronze. Not the biggest amount to add to the stack today but ill try make up for that next week.
Merch is finally available but I’m not going to push it like some channels , it’s there to find on your own free will. I will mention it here and there but not throw it in your face in every video like a lot of channels do, but if you don’t want the Merch but still want to support the channel Simply donate some of your time to help support the channel just by allowing the ads to play through this will help out a lot and that’s how I make a bit extra revenue and the good thing is more revenue means more giveaways👊🏻😄. A better way to support the channel is play one of my playlists on your computer before you walk away from it and let it play through that really helps as well but don’t ever feel as though you need to watch the ads if you don’t want to simply skip them and move into the video it’s completely up to you and I understand if you don’t have the time to do so👌🏻and like I always say if you like the rings shown and used in this video be sure to check out the description where you can get 20% off the already discounted rings using my code and if you want to try your hand at melting yourself you can buy the burner on its own or the whole furnace set up and I can organize a 5% link for you off the total furnace price just email me on bigstackddddd@mail.com 😁👍🏻.

HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.

Oh man these weeks are just flying by, Today is a pretty straightforward melt where I find a mini fridge in the scrap bin and take the compressor and when my friend saw it he donated an old one he had lying around👌🏻. There was a combination of copper and aluminium in this video so I just mix it all together to make a beautiful golden aluminium bronze. Now I didn’t add much to the stack this week but I promise you I’ll make up for it next week👍🏻😁. Most importantly everybody have yourselves an awesome weekend, take care BSafe and see you all soon👋🏻.

Along with the off limits orange cones and tape!! The driveway and brick work at your house is sweet! I would love to see the look on a scrap yard ( that does not know you ) buyers face when you pull back the tarp and all your bars are exposed. I can hear it now! You ask for feedback a lot and I've always wanted to offer mine, but it took some time to articulate it. I've been watching your channel for a while and I finally realized what exactly I like about it. It's the changes. When the gas changes to fire; when the metal turns molten; when the liquid turns to an ingot; when the ice turns to steam; when the ice turns to shards as you smash it; when that nice lump of metal turns into a mirror. All those points where something becomes something else. I always get a kick out of watching a piece of aluminum disappear into the crucible. Add your knack for editing the whole thing like a highlight reel of the process and some doggie interludes and you just have a perfect recipe that you reproduce really well. Stick with that and show me those pretty changes and I'm gonna stay glued to this channel. Cheers big ears.

Please remember that the refrigerant R410A has a global warming potential of 2,000 times that of carbon dioxide. Suppose it doesn't matter if the refrigeration is already leaked out, but it should be captured if possible. I believe R12, found an older refrigerators, has a global warming potential of 6,000 times carbon dioxide.

When I got the fridge out of the dumpster there was damage to the back of it so I’m assuming the gas leaked out when they threw it in to the dumpster, the other piece my friend brought over had already been degassed. The fines in Australia are quite large if you get caught releasing the gas into the atmosphere so that’s something I would never do. What you need to do in Australia if you want to save money on degassing is when we have hard waste you put your fridges out on your verge for the council to pick up but before they pick up the fridge they send a company around to degas all the fridges and once They’ve done that you simply remove what you want before they come and get the fridge the next day👍🏻, That way you get it degassed for free and get to keep all the copper from it. That’s what I normally do

Freon is a CFC that was banned internationally in late 90s. Later machines most use Butane as refrigerant.
The disposal of both of these is strictly controlled esp if the machine contains Freon that must not be allowed to enter the atmosphere. This gas destroys ozone. Without ozone life on earth dies.
When showing stripping down it would be nice to see how this part of the operation was done and what happens to the gasses after.

Every time I scrap one of these, as soon as I clip the copper tube to separate it from the fridge, refrigerant sprays out all over the place. I don't know how to properly discharge it, so I stopped scrapping them. So glad that didn't happen to you. Love the color of the bar. I'll have to try that. Love your videos.....and some pretty good commercials too. LOL

You have to be really lucky and hope that it was thrown away because the refrigerant has already leaked out, therefore you aren’t responsible for the negative effects to global warming for releasing it into the atomosphere.

    • @darrendesimoni6795

You’re adding to global warming. What you’re doing is illegal and carries a $10,000 fine. 95% of those fridges contain a refrigerant charge which you release to atmosphere.
