Fantastic video Alex , i am a new subscriber today - I love the way you fish for the Carp I use a Centrepin ALL the time . People in my fishing club often shake their heads ( Bivvy brigade ) but i have caught Carp to 21 b 14oz on it with a 1.75lb Avon rod + 10lb line. I either use a ledger rig with it on rests , or float fish . Love to see more of these vids please!! Cheers NIck
Hi Nick, thanks for the kind comments and well done on the twenty. It's a shame that so many anglers think that 3lb t.c rods and big pit reels are the only way to fish for carp. Sure they have a place but I always feel that a light, well balanced set up, as your capture proved,is a far more enjoyable way of fishing 🎣
@@InTheEdgeWithAlex .. Yeah i couldn't agree more , especially on the 3lb tc rods !! Most of my club waters are 1/2 to 3acres , with shallows , reeds, overhangs etc and no more than 6ft deep ..So our approach i think is the best by far !! Cheers Nick
It's certainly a very effective bait, although one of the reasons I favour it on this particular venue is that the water is very clear and in many cases I'm sight fishing for the carp and want a bait I can see as they take it, and yes you're correct, I fish it straight on the hook 👍🎣🎣
this is proper fishing. well done mate, wish i had a lake like this around my area
Thanks 👍🎣🎣

Do you find sweetcorn is a killer bait that big carp rarely refuse? You seem to fish it directly with no hair, correct?

@@InTheEdgeWithAlex Sadly while my waters are club, semi-wild, the water has poor visibility.
