Good heavens, 204 lbs down to 164!!! I know it was a number of years ago, but just wanted to say good for you Norm. About 5 years ago I went from 234 to 194 before my hip replacement surgery. Now I'm on the way down from 202 to hopefully my early 20's weight of 180. No chance for 160's though. 🙃
My husband and I are planners too! I love watching your videos and admire your common sense and positivity 😊. We both retired early and live in BC 🇨🇦. We downsized from our large home and bought a new townhome a few years ago. We’ve travelled quite a bit these past 10+ years (last count was 25 cruises) and are very grateful that we did. Not sure how much more travelling is in store for us, due to COVID and our health. I had major surgery 3 years ago and have to be very careful.
Glad you are enjoying our videos, yes the Covid has put travel on hold for all of us and with health issues you have to be more careful so we understand that . But you have the memories of your trips , we have travelled extensively the last 5 years since we took early retirement many wonderful 🚢 cruise and land trips . Hope you have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🍺🌸
My husband and I retired last year, in our late 50s, and are so excited about the fun times ahead. Lots of travel and friends and joy. It's encouraging to hear your take on retirement. Thank you!
That is awesome! congrats on your retirement things can only get better after this Pandemic year hopefully we will all get vaccinated 💉and see you on the road. Have a great weekend Cheers 🍺🍷🌺
Great comment you never know what might be around the corner so enjoy today , hope you are staying safe and keeping well have a great Happy New Year 🥳🎊🥂Cheers 🍷🍺
Great advice for people planning to retire but still undecided and for someone as myself, already retired but still needing to learn how to concentrate on myself rather than worrying for anything else. Thanks
Thanks for watching we have a video coming out on Saturday about surviving retirement hope you like it , we talk about things we are all going through have a wonderful weekend Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
Greetings Norm and Tina ! Roy & Lynn from High River Alberta. I started viewing your channel a few days ago...and I am absolutely "hooked" !!...still a couple of years away from retiring...but maybe less after viewing your videos...thanks so much for your sharing !
Thanks so much , we saw some of Alberta on our RV relocation road trip from Toronto to Vancouver two years ago , if you get the chance to take early retirement do it , we did 5 years ago and haven’t looked back .Have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
@@ThisIsOurRetirement I was born in Ottawa (1960) and moved out west at the age of 5 in 1966. I had not been back for 51 years until 2017. Lynn and I spent 10 days touring around my "home town" and enjoyed it immensely ! I grew up in Belair Heights (off the Queensway at Maitland). My old neighborhood looked "much the same" as it did when I left !! Hope to go back again soon !...Cheers !! Roy & Lynn
Thank you for sharing your beautiful journey to retirement and beyond. I have been retired for 5 years now but I only stayed home a couple months and went back to work. I am now collecting my pension and earning another income. I retired at 53 and am now 58. I plan to work until I am 62. At 62 I can collect SS. My husband and I are debt free except for our home. He plans to retire in 2 and a half years. It’s exciting to get to this point in life and plan our next adventures of traveling and enjoying life in a new way. Thank you for inspiring me to reach for the stars!!!
Hi Tina , sorry your comment didn’t appear and suddenly we see it You Tube has its moments LOL 😂 😂 sounds like you have a great plan for your next adventures ahead , we viewed retirement as a new chapter in our lives and it is wonderful. We hope you both have a wonderful weekend Cheers 🍺🍷🌺
Norm and Tina, thank you for creating this video and sharing your thoughts and experiences, and encouragement, with us. I myself am a cancer survivor (treated 10 years ago), so can relate. My wife and I also enjoy traveling and over the years have visited many places around the world. And for as long as I can recall we also have been very disciplined about living well below our means, saving and investing regularly in index funds and dividend-paying stocks, and eliminating debt. Much of the financial advice you have shared is very much aligned with our own experiences. Glad you both are taking care of your health, for as the saying goes "health is wealth:" I look forward to your future postings and wishing you continued great health and happiness. - Vinay PS Happy 65th Birthday Norm.
Hi Vinay thanks for Norms birthday wishes 🥳 sounds like we have a lot in common love your “ Health is wealth “ quote glad you are enjoying our videos . We wish you and your wife Health and Happiness 🌺and a great better Happy New Year 🥳🥂🎊Cheers 🍷🙂🍺
Was genuinely worried about your absence. Should have known better! You're back more positive than ever!! What an inspiration. Let's make 2021 unforgettable!!
Great to see you! Happy 65th birthday Norm!! Glad you did not wait to retire! Great advise. Retirement is an adjustment... you two have done it well ~ Brad and Diana
What a blessing that you can travel. We were just starting to travel with our kids and then the pandemic came. So we are waiting and saving g money, so when the world opens up we can go some place. I am with you. Don't wait to travel. Life is too short.
We have been fortunate that with taking early retirement we have had 5 wonderful years of great trips to look back on . We have bought a trailer that will be permanent as a cottage on a lovely Lakeside site so we will be travelling around there locally in our Canadian 🇨🇦 Backyard. Wishing you and your family a very Happy New Year 🎊🥳🥂 Cheers 🍷🍺
Thank you so much for all your videos. My husband retired a couple years ago and I turn 65 in October. Your videos have given me the confidence that it’s time to go. I will be 65 and my husband will be 70. Hopefully we will have a few years to travel.
Hi Tina & Norm another great video I hope people listen to you both because it’s about quality of life and you hit the nail on the head . Take care. Thanks. Christopher Barker
Hey Tina and Norm! So great to see you guys back.. we have missed you! You guys are looking spry and refreshed! We can totally imagine you guys are missing international travel during these crazy times. We didn't realize how well traveled you are! Especially overseas. Also, did 12 cruises in 5 years.. that's amazing! It sucks to hear that you guys are on a second lockdown there.. here we don't feel like we have been off lockdown since March really.. and the numbers are higher and higher. Glad to hear you're staying home and staying safe. We are sure in hindsight, you guys are thankful you did retire early and started traveling.. because no one knew what was to come in 2020! That's cool to hear when you retired that you lost weight and yes, health is the most important thing to consider and take care of. We agree with what Tina said on men having a hard time finding their new identity after retirement. Bears grandpa worked until his mid 80s.. not out of necessity, but because he loved working so much. Looking forward to your videos in the spring from the new trailer on the lake! Happy New Year to you both and love you to the mother effin' moon! :) 🤗🌛😊💖😘👍🏻
Hi Bears and Butters , yes we feel very fortunate that we did decide to retire early, we have had 5 years of awesome memories. We did travel before when we were working but only about once or twice a year . One of the reasons we decided to do You Tube nearly 2 years ago was so we could record and remember the trips, we did that on Valentine’s Day 2019 in Portugal 🇵🇹 all very exciting. Canada 🇨🇦 has just started to implement a lot stricter rules at the airports to try and control our Covid numbers , everyone visiting has to have had a negative test 72 hours before arrival sent ahead and then 14 quarantine so we will see if that helps. We hope you are both staying safe and keeping well, we wish you Health and Happiness and a great better New Year 🥳🎊🥂 Cheers 🍷🍺and Hugs 🤗 Norm and Tina x
Pandemic put me into early retirement. Lost my business. Wasnt prepared mentality adjusting physically. Wishing for travel to fill the void. Talked about. But planned to work to 65. Enjoyed my work. Enjoying yr vlogs. You are both becoming an inspiration. Agree with you, retirement is a new beginning 👍
We were fortunate that we were already retired when this Pandemic 😷 struck, we are so sorry to hear you lost your business and have been forced into retirement. We have a lot of small businesses around us all either struggling with , or already closed for good , my wonderful hairdresser 💇♀️ I don’t know if he will be able to go on . All we can say is if you can take each day at a time , and try and look at retirement as a new chapter in your life things will get better .We just watched a wonderful Sunset 🌅 from our appartment and even though we can’t travel Internationally we are exploring our own backyard in Canada 🇨🇦 maybe you can do the same wishing you health and Happiness in your retirement Cheers 🍺🍷🙂
@@ThisIsOurRetirement on same page 👍😉👊🥂🍷 Booked 2 cruises for 2022. Planning on things to look forward too. Roadtrips still not good idea in USA. Day trips absolutely. Thank you again. We both gain from your experience shared. Even if retirement government funds/processes are different. 🥰✈🛥 🚘soon 👍
@@irishinusa1615 That’s great 👍when we realized we couldn’t travel we got the opportunity to buy a trailer which will be static on a Lakeside Campground and we will do day trips from there. Perhaps 🤔 that might be an option for you to look at . 🌺
@@ThisIsOurRetirement too many people buying RVs etc right now. Roads and parks so busy in 🇺🇸 certainly around us. Looking forward to coming along with you.
So good to see you again, Retirement for my wife and I has been great, we also moved and are living in Ontario now. Stay safe my friends and stay healthy!!
I am new to your Channel... and you two are so enjoyable to listen too, as well informative... you both appear to be still so in love and sweet to each other. REAL NICE TO SEE!!!!
We're retired too. We think it will get our shots pretty far in the future too. It's like listening to our lives as you both speak. Love your outlook of preparing for retirement and looking at it as another job. So wonderful your a cancer survivor! Taking the money now makes sense! New hobbies and habits are absolutely worth it. Wonderful retirement advice! Thanks for sharing! Donovan and Jodi
Hi Donovan and Jodi thanks for watching we are lucky in Canada 🇨🇦 we can take the money at 60 it’s great that we have a lot in comment being retired we love it . We hope you had a good Christmas 🎄 and we hope you are staying safe and keeping well and wish you Health , Happiness and a great better New Year 🎊🥳🥂Cheers 🍷🍺 Norm and Tina 🤗
Olá you two. I suddenly realized I hadn't seen you on the Y-Tube recently so I had a look for you. It's really good to see you both. I've been in NJ since November, hanging out with my daughter. Keep well, and safe. Please try not to stay away so long... missed you!
Just realized you are still in NJ hope you are enjoying your time there , it’s hard to be mainly a travel channel when we aren’t travelling that’s why we were having a break . ATB 🍷🍺🌺
I had a medical issue in May. Had to get 2 stents. I love my job, so I didn't plan on retiring just yet. Well, when I had the problem I chose to retire at the end of January. Now that we're here, I've chose to hold for a couple of months until I get my vaccine. We plan to retire in Thailand because Jai is Thai and I'm sick of the unrest here. The next couple of years may get pretty bad. Nice listening to your plans and things to do. Jai is an RN and this is a bad time for that. So she's thinking about throwing in the towel👍🙏nice share, stay safe--I'm a Federal Employee and haven't started drawing anything yet.
Wow sorry to hear about your medical issue, in a way that’s what often forces the decision on what to do maybe earlier than planned . All our front line workers are having a rough time at the moment so don’t blame Jai for stopping. Sounds like a good opportunity for you both in Thailand are you able to do that with all the Covid restrictions? Stay safe and have a great week ATB 🍷🍺
@@ThisIsOurRetirement No, not right now. We can go soon because Jai is Thai. We would have to be quarantined for 14 days upon arrival. We'll wait a couple of months at least until I can be vaccinated.
Interesting subject matter both, although we haven't quite retired yet, the Pandemic has affected our lives and travel plans! Luckily we can both work from home but we make every effort to go outdoors and walk each day...when it comes to our travels, we will be sticking to exploring the UK until we feel it is safe enough to fly further afield! Do not blame you at all for retiring early, life is too short, definitely live for now...the reason why we take so many holidays and travel now! Stay safe both, continue with your great positivity and here's to the eventual end to the Pandemic👍
TFW we hear you travel close to home 🏡 while all this Covid settles down and vaccination programs get in place. We are so glad we took early retirement the last 5 years have given us wonderful memories, we have bought a trailer in Huron County about 2 hours from where we live that we will use as a cottage as it’s permanent, we will travel from there our Canadian 🇨🇦Back yard is gorgeous. We also found out Norm will get a British pension this August 💰which is cool , stay safe and keep well we can’t see us travelling out of Canada 🇨🇦 for another year at least . Happy New Year 🥳🥂🎊Cheers 🍷🍺
We miss traveling and visiting family. We a!also miss amusements like movies, restaurants, and theme parks. But I hope we can beat this virus as a world. Glad you are doing well. Here in the states, we don't expect to be fully vaccinated till fall.
Yes we are missing travelling and visiting family that aren’t near by , we agree we think the vaccination program won’t be done till around Thanksgiving. 🙂
Hi Sherri thanks for missing us we enjoyed our break , it’s hard doing a travel channel when we can’t travel LOL 😂we hope you are keeping well and wish you a great New Year 🥳🎊🥂Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
Happy New Year! It’s nice to see you back again since your last update. You are my favourite retirement channel, your retirement related videos inspired /helped me a lot, guess what? I am retired this December. Huge thanks for your inspiration!
They are so cute, She was about to go ham about that scrabble and he was like "Come on now Tina stay on track" ... Girl I get it, that game is fun, LOL.. I love you guys!!
Thanks for watching, we are enjoying playing Scrabble although I (Tina ) have yet to win a game Norm is very good at it . We hope you are well and have a great week Cheers 🍺🍷🙂
Playing scrabble in Retirement eh!! Who would have thought! Norm you like the cookies 2 eh! Great information there! Glad to see the both of you! Sorry I haven't been keeping up with your videos lately. I recently started a UA-cam channel about my dog! I feel like it's taken over my life. So I can appreciate all the hard work and the time commitment that you and Tina put in on your channel! Cheers! Happy New Year 2 the both of you!
Hi Chris , nice to hear from you we did take a break for a few weeks so don’t feel so bad LOL 😂😂 that’s great you’ve started a channel what’s it called 🧐so we can check out your dog 🐶, our daughter has two Bearnise Mountain dogs 🐶 they are so cute 😉 Playing Scrabble is our new COVID-19 pastime!! But we will also be able to do this at our trailer , we have bought a trailer that will be permanent as a cottage in Bruce County as we can’t do International travel at the minute. Happy New Year 🎊🥳🥂 Cheers 🍷🍺🤗
Excellent! I put the link to a recent video above. Percy is Golden is our channel! Yes I have been interacting alot with other dog channels and I have seen those mountain dogs. Very nice! I'm trying to convince my kid's to try scrabble. I'll have to keep working on them! Thanks again Cheers!
Great to see you guys! You are an inspiration with such positive attitudes. I’m itching to get traveling again as well but I haven’t been as patient as you and it’s making me miserable. Please keep making these videos because I need to be reminded that I’m not alone.
Thanks for watching we are finding that if we focus on what we can do we feel a lot better, yes we also miss International travel 🧳 so we thought let’s get a trailer so we can travel locally in Bruce County 🇨🇦 Canada . We are also doing bird watching, walking , stock photo and playing Scrabble to help our brains busy 🧐 We hope you have a wonderful New Year 🥳🍺🍷stay safe and well Cheers 🍷🍺☕️
For most retirees the financial side is the one that pre-retirement they worry about the most but once retired they find it is not usually the biggest concern. As long as you gave at least some thought to your retirement financials during your working life you should be fine, it's the non-financial things that will make or break having a great retirement. Finding meaningful things to do, family, maintaining relationships, staying as healthy as possible, these are the things that become top of mind in retirement.
Great comment thank you , yes Health and finding things to do is very important like a new hobby or learn a language ,write a book or journal and ability to laugh 😂 is important. Hope you have a great week Cheers 🍷🙂🍺🌺
I really enjoy all of your perspectives. I am about 18 months away from retirement. One sure gets a lot of conflicting advice. But I find you guys calm and reassuring. Thanks
Thanks for watching that’s about the same time we had in getting ready to retire, we wish you well look at it as a new Chapter in your life to enjoy 😉. We hope you have a good weekend and great New Year 🥳🥂🎊Cheers 🍷🍺
Glad you are well and enjoyed the 'break' from posting a video. We are into an essentials only lockdown also- started mid December. . I feel for the hospitality branch in particular. Restaurants and the like have been closed since mid October. We too are healthy, happy and retired. Such a comforting feeling having our monthly financial needs seen to. Onward and upward to 2021. Best wishes for you the coming year. 🙏🙋♀️
Thanks for visiting and yes it’s wonderful to know all the monthly bills are taken care of , I think our Lockdowns are very similar our restaurants are Take Out only , unfortunately it is causing a lot of businesses to call it a day and close. We are very fortunate and enjoying our retirement like you , looking forward to our trailer in the summer we wish you Health and Happiness and a great New Year 🥂🥳 Take Care Cheers 🍷🥂🍺🌺
@@ThisIsOurRetirement Yes, thankfully many restaurants are grateful they can still over their services by way of take away meals. It's not much but every penny helps. 🙏🌷🥳🥂🍾
So great to see you 2 happy new year looking forward to the videos and adventures in 2021 sledgehammered that like button stay safe awesome and blessed enjoyed this
Good to see you are enjoying life! I very much appreciate your comments re " live for now". I am 9 years older than you Norm; but I still have a job that allows me income and flexibility. I also appreciate your videos on Portugal. I think we will plan for next year in Portugal. We are in Calgary and just got 47% of our annual snowfall in 48 hours. All the best for the new year!
Hi David, it is so easy to put off decisions or goals but we are now very much living in the moment, especially as we planned our finances to remove a “worry”. We are hoping for Portugal in Jan - March 2022. We had been seeing that Alberta had been getting pretty good snowfalls. Let’s hope for a New Year filled with good news! Thanks for your kind support. 😀😀🥂
I got my vaccinations this month. (April). I'm 56. But I'm in the US. I have no understanding of people who feel lost or depressed when they retire. I can't wait!! Where are your photos? I am always needing photos at work. I'm pretty sure there isn't that much government money in the US, but I guess I could be wrong.
Wow ! sounds like my retirement goals! older parents so still in the launching kids stage but we had started travelling but like others on hold for a couple of years. But still on our long range plan of playing off the house etc for a good retirement.

Hi Kathy nice to see you glad you enjoy them , hope you had a nice Christmas 🎄 wishing you a great better New Year🎊🥂 with Health and Happiness Cheers 🍷🙂🍺🌺
Travel is very restrictive. Got to stay at home and be safe. Use on line services for ordering most of what we need. Only going out to get essentials that we cannot order on line. Spending more time on the net and watching more movies on TV or on the computer. Lots of UA-cam videos to watch. I was informed by some people who should know, this way of life could be here for a few more years.
@@ThisIsOurRetirement Norm and Tina- I think the videos are wonderful . I am doing it a bit different to you two. I retired early at 50 then had 10 great years doing stuff and now have ended up back in work. It wasn't planned and I didn't have to do it for the money but I love it probably keep going until 70 (another 4 years). Keep the videos coming
In the UK we are into our 3 or 4 lockdown I lose count ...and the retirement age is rising to 67 ...so maybe saving up for early retirement is a great idea....planning early..
Good morning Terry don’t understand why your retirement age keeps creeping up , we are in our second big lockdown. Wishing you Health and Happiness and a great better New Year 🎊🥂🥳Cheers 🍷🍺
Some people say don't plan too much, but I disagree. Been planning for at least 1 year but with retirement in 2 years, now's the time to figure things out. Life is short so the faster you can retire, do it. Working until 65 and missing those 5 years of OUR time, nothing can buy that! We've done 13 cruises and were supposed to go to Europe for back to back cruises for 3 weeks April 2020 but that's down the drain. Still waiting to be reimbursed for flights and cruises. The good thing is that we had lots of debts but today, we are officially debt free. We did that in about 9 months!!!
Absolutely agree planning is the key , it took us about 18 months to declutter, downsize and then sell our home. Best thing we did since taking early retirement 5 year ago we have done many 🚢 cruises, visited Australia, NewZealand , Panama, China, Iceland , Edinburgh, Spain and many other places and really enjoyed all of them. Yes all our plans went on hold this last year sorry to hear you are waiting still for money back , both our Children had trips booked for their families they have only been offered credits no money back . But what good are credits when you can’t go away 🧐. That’s great that you are debt free we think that’s the best recipe for a good retirement. Have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🍺🌺
@@ThisIsOurRetirement Yes, they offered us credit from air canada for plane tickets and for msn, credit for future cruises but the one we had was a once in a lifetime cruise, and it won't happen again so we'd rather get our money back. We always knew we would finish paying our credit cards and car by 2023 but finishing in december 2020 was such deliverance off our shoulders that now, we will be able to do that 8 week trip in august 2023 to route 66 and back, visiting so many places in the states then as we return, either start travelling abroad and discovering other countries or becoming snowbirds in florida, which we will probably do after we both reach 65 years plus.
@@danielguertin9664 Because of this pandemic we have decided to focus on what we can do not what we can’t . Sorry to hear not getting money back for your one time cruise 🚢, this is why we bought the trailer and focusing on what we can do in Ontario our home province. We don’t see International travel till 2022 or 2023 so we are planning all the things we can do this year.🇨🇦 Enjoy your weekend Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
Lots of them are not covering Covid-19 those that are have added major extra cost 💰and if you get sick away there might not be the hospital rooms available 🧐
Hello guys, really nice to see you back and both looking so well! Totally agree with everything you say here. Great advice, I know from my own experience too that nothing in life is guaranteed!! We have just booked our summer holiday next year, returning to a cottage by the sea in Northern Ireland ( my home country). We are just not ready to fly next year and would prefer Brexit to be more embedded before we do!! As I work for NHS, I received the first dose of the Phizer vaccine yesterday. We are being hammered here in Scotland with the new mutation virus and there is a massive effort now to get our NHS immunised so that we can get mass vaccination rolled out asap. Today I put my name forward to work at one of the vaccination sites. It really is going to be all hands on deck!! Anyway, I hope u both had a nice Xmas and we will raise a glass tomorrow night to a better 2021 for all of us!! Please keep well, love listening to you both xxx
Hi Deborah nice to see you , wow you are the first person we know to get the vaccination congrats, and a great thing to do to be able to work at one of the sites. We seem very slow in Canada 🇨🇦 in giving the vaccines, Norm and I won’t be till about September from what they have said . We know what you mean about travelling having a cottage in Ireland sounds wonderful guess you can just take the ferry across? Love your Vids. Question: if you had to retire in Portugal where would you guys live. I thought I was going back to where I was born Terceira to live there during the winters here in the US but I keep seeing videos of the Algarve and now I'm not sure which place is better?
You ask a very interesting question, so here goes and remember it is only our unbiased opinion. We liked Terceira Island we stayed in Angra, we felt it was not over run by tourism and that a good portion of the population were open to embrace visitors and gave us a feeling of acceptance. The Island is small and intimate and easily navigable, but does leave a senses of smallness. The Algarve is a Jeckal and Hyde personality, summer is the wild Wild West party central, too much traffic on the roads and a gizillione tourists. Winter is perfect, tourists are older sedate snowbirds from North America and Europe, population falls to a very low level, not much traffic, lots of kilometres to explore and many many towns to explore, Lisbon just a 2.5 hour drive. Just depends what you are looking for. We love both places, but we only go in winter time. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Good morning ☕️Claire , funny you ask that🤔 we have a video coming out today at 11.45 am where we talk all about what we do . Have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🙂🍺🌺Thanks for watching 🌺
Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it and seems we all think alike , hope you had a nice holiday and we wish you a great better Happy New Year 🥳🥂🎊Cheers 🍷🙂🍺
So happy to see you both again!!! I'm ecstatic to hear that the aliens didn't take you, I was worried there for a bit 🤣 I thoroughly enjoy watching your channel, I love how you have adjusted your channel to what's happening in the world by providing other vital information..Thank you for doing what you do !!! All the best in 2021!
I loved this video and all your great advice! Though the benefit amount is higher if we wait, I’ve seen a calculation showing it can be better to take it early. Receiving that income years earlier can offset the loss, especially as we never know when our time’s up. Some people wait to take it later and never live long enough to reap the benefit.
We agree completely, it’s so sad to pay into something and not reap the benefits that why we took it early 💰as proved by this Pandemic 😷 things do happen that can affect your health so might as well enjoy the money now . We hope you have a great New Year 🥂🥳🎊Cheers 🍷🙂🍺
I can't see myself just suddenly retiring. I'd like to make sure that I earn money by doing things I love and then gradually reduce that down in accordance with what I can cope with. I never want to stop gigging if I can help it, and if I could actually make money from vlogging, I'd like to do that until my dying day.
Great comment your gigging is what we do with Stock Photo and Video we love doing it and it creates residual income all good 💰I am sure that with your You Tube being daily it must be starting to add up for money 🙂 just keep going .
@@ThisIsOurRetirement what about investing in real estate maybe in the Algarve and rent it out! We both have retired at age 55 and have invested in real estate and renting it out to airbnb! October,November and December in Portugal rents well! Cheers from Ottawa !
Retirement is just wonderful. We have all had a difficult year this year in 2020 and although it could seem like a disappointment, there is always an alternative plan and we just adapted to what we were able to do under the restrictions. We hope our Canadian tour will go ahead and we have now postponed it until at least 2022. Although we have ideas for 2021, nothing is set in stone as such. 😃 Happy New Year 🥳 Trev n Sue
Hi Trev and Sue lovely to see you wow yes 2020 has been an unusual year to say the least we are loving being retired and so glad we were able to do it 5 years ago which has given us lots of wonderful trip memories. We are fortunate we can take our Canada 🇨🇦 Pension at 60 so that’s what we did. This year we have just stayed close to home but we have now bought a trailer which will be a cottage as it’s on a permanent Lakeside site and we are so excited for May 2021. We thought if we can’t travel Internationally we needed alternative plans like you said , need to look at what we can do 🧐 We hope you both have a wonderful New Year and really hope your Canadian tour works for you are you renting an RV to do the trip ? We are a big country LOL 😂 Lots of love and 🤗 hugs Tina and Norm 🥳🥂🎊🍷
Wow your energy is congratulations! So glad everything went great for you. Congrats again and have a great week I enjoy watching your happy make me happy too I did joined you subscribed my best channel. Im evo From Australia
TFW and welcome to our channel we are loving 🥰 being retired, we hope things are better in Australia 🇦🇺 with Covid , we are glad you are happy watching our videos have a great week Cheers 🍷🍺🙂
Good that you didn't get abducted, rumors were growing bigger and bigger 😁😁😁 Happy birthday Yes if you wouldn't have, you would have not been able to have all those beautiful memories, we are so happy you got early retirement. This is something to highly celebrate.
Keeping weight off is hard especially during Covid with staying at home Cheers 🍺
Yes, live in the now, this is the lesson we can take from this pandemic event.
Great comment you never know what might be around the corner so enjoy today , hope you are staying safe and keeping well have a great Happy New Year 🥳🎊🥂Cheers 🍷🍺
In the US, you can tale social security at 62, full retirement 65-67, and additional benefits till 70
That’s great it’s nice to have government programs to help financially, have a great week 🙂
I agree ☝️ retire as early as possible, you never know how much time you have left. Happy travels 👍
Thanks so much, there are no guarantees in life 😀😀
Great advice for people planning to retire but still undecided and for someone as myself, already retired but still needing to learn how to concentrate on myself rather than worrying for anything else. Thanks
Thanks for watching we have a video coming out on Saturday about surviving retirement hope you like it , we talk about things we are all going through have a wonderful weekend Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
Tina your smile is so warm and happy! Norm you’re a lucky guy!
Thank you for a lovely comment, we hope you have a great 2021 🥳🥂🎊Cheers 🍷🍺

Yes we hope travel comes back soon to, we wish you and your husband a great retirement. Thanks for watching.
Hi Tina & Norm another great video I hope people listen to you both because it’s about quality of life and you hit the nail on the head .
Take care. Thanks. Christopher Barker
Thank you so much! Christopher glad you enjoyed it have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🌺🍺

Thanks so much for watching we appreciate your support have a great day Cheers 🙂🍷🍺
I agree health and mobility are very important considerations in retirement. As a new retiree I'm working on my health now.
Sounds great 🙂enjoy 🍷🌺

We are loving our early retirement hope yours is great too Cheers 🍷🌺🍺

Travel is very restrictive. Got to stay at home and be safe. Use on line services for ordering most of what we need. Only going out to get essentials that we cannot order on line. Spending more time on the net and watching more movies on TV or on the computer. Lots of UA-cam videos to watch. I was informed by some people who should know, this way of life could be here for a few more years.
We are pretty much thinking this, that’s why we bought a trailer for this summer. Even when travel opens up do we want to be the first?

We don’t see International travel till 2022 or 2023 so we are planning all the things we can do this year.🇨🇦
Enjoy your weekend Cheers 🍷🌺🍺
Good Job Tina and Norm, nice to see you're both healthy and doing well. Enjoy the rest of this year. Happy Holidays
Thanks for watching hope you have a wonderful New Year 🎊🥂Cheers 🍷🙂🍺
It's good to see you are well. Thanks for sharing your story. Blessings to you in 2021.
Thanks for watching glad you enjoyed it , we wish you all the best and a great New Year 🥳🎊Cheers 🍷🙂🍺
I hadn't considered the travel insurance implictaions. Not that I was planning to travel.
We are really looking forward to our trailer which we can go to from May , it will be permanent on a Lakeside site so to us it is our cottage .
We hope that you stay safe and well and we wish you a great better Happy New Year 🥳🎊🥂 Take Care Cheers 🍷🙂🍺
Yes, we will get the ferry from Stranraer into Belfast, takes about 2 1/2 hours. And to my 10 year it will feel like abroad as we will be in a different country, lol!! I will be looking forward to all your cottage cosiness! Hopefully next few months will fly by and better days will be here soon, x

Hi Violet all the preparation for taking early retirement was well worth it , we hope sharing our story might help others to look at different options. It was nice to have a little break , we have been watching the Covid news with you and you seem to have it tough as well.
We are looking forward to summer to enjoy our new trailer and new places.
We hope you are staying safe and keeping well, Norm and I both wish you Health and Happiness 🌺and for a great better New Year 🎊🥂🥳 Take Care 🤗 hugs 🌺☕️🙂
Thanks so much yes we keep going back to lockdown. Its been tough but we survive. I love that you make us aware of all the things about retirement. I have 20 years left then i have to retire so i am taking a LOT of your advise now already.
@@VioletHenning Sounds great 🤗 have a good weekend 🌺
Well! Good to see you back on the “air”. I haven’t added any new content to my travel/camera page in a very long time, either.
Hi Arnie it was nice to have a break , with all this Covid stuff going on it’s hard to put up travel 🧳 when we aren’t travelling LOL 😂😂 we thought an update would be good to say we are still here and looking forward to May to go to our new trailer, which will be permanent so we will use as a cottage.
Wishing you Health and Happiness and a great better New Year 🥂🥳Cheers 🍷🍺

We had a nice Christmas - though I was ever mindful I was supposed to be spending it in Banff. Anyway ... We are also back in strict lockdown. Here in Wales, even more so than the rest of the UK. You are so right about the travelling. I can't quite believe I have gone from spending 3-4 nights in hotels every week for over 20 years - to it being almost 10 months since I've stayed in one! At least you have me beat on that one haha!!! Have a wonderful new year, guys. Really looking forward to seeing how your channel (and everyone's channel!) gets along with 2021 xx

Thanks! We hope things will go back to normal during the coming year with vaccinations ongoing etc. We've just recently cancelled our February trip to Tenerife. Spending a week there with facemask on isn't our kind of holiday especially since Anita has mask on at the hospital all the time. Let's see of our end of August trip to Crete will happen. Hopefully so.
Take care! Cheers!
@@Bertil_Lundin We can understand that , it’s not fun to us wearing 😷 masks all the time, hope Crete works out for you both . We are hoping with the vaccines that next Winter Portugal 🇵🇹 might happen 🤞Take Care and keep well 🍷🤗🍺

I would think hardware stores are essential. Glad you met your goals.
Yes pretty essential, but I think they don’t want people aimlessly browsing, so you can order online and have curbside pick up or delivery. Thanks so much for watching, Happy New Year 🥂👍👍

Thanks we can’t wait and enjoying buying all new stuff , towels, sheets, for it helps count down till May 😉
I'm missing travelling alot. Now they are even more strict about it! I hope things get a bit back to normal once the vaccines are fully deployed.
Hi Matt we are missing International travel too , lots of new strict rules coming but hopefully it will slow the numbers down, we think the vaccines 💉 process will take all of 2021. We wish you a Happy New Year 🎊🥳🥂Cheers 🍷🍺
Hey you guys are adorable. So much great information which I learnt from the video. Which part on Ontario are you guys.
Thanks for watching we are in Southern Ontario TFW have a great weekend Cheers 🍺🍷🌺
Great to see you again! Happy New Year!
Thanks Sandra hope you had a nice Christmas 🎄 and have a great New Year 🎊🥂Cheers 🍷🍺
Have you done a video on what your average day or week looks like? I get bored on Xmas break, so I wonder how I would fill the days in retirement.
Good morning ☕️Claire , funny you ask that🤔 we have a video coming out today at 11.45 am where we talk all about what we do . Have a great weekend Cheers 🍷🙂🍺🌺Thanks for watching 🌺

@@ThisIsOurRetirement I’m on about £118 a month on a good month now? I don’t activate mid rolls though so that doesn’t really help me. 😂
Sounds like you are doing pretty good 💰why not try doing one with mid roll adds to see if it helps increase things 🧐☕️

This year we have just stayed close to home but we have now bought a trailer which will be a cottage as it’s on a permanent Lakeside site and we are so excited for May 2021. We thought if we can’t travel Internationally we needed alternative plans like you said , need to look at what we can do 🧐
