It was a precautionary measure to immobilize him and get him imaging. If an athlete reports mid-line neck pain (sign of potential cervical vertebrae fracture or dislocation), athletic trainers will do this. Better to be safe, than sorry.

It’s great to see the NFL taking care of its athletes. I love hits (big hits especially) but taking precaution in an era that we can is great. Im so happy he’s hopefully gonna be 100%
100%, you could be moving just fine, then try and get up, or think you're fine, then next play take a hit that finishes it off. Next thing you know, you are paralyzed. Any issues with the neck, or spine is no joke, and taken very seriously

You can follow all the rules and play your heart out, but it goes to show that sometimes stuff just happens. As unfortunate as it is to see stuff like this, I truly commend the home players and fans for cheering Darrell Taylor as he left. I'm glad he was able to recover.
You don’t need to be a “fan of” to feel sympathy for a HUMAN BEING that potentially suffered a serious injury while playing a sport.
It’s even more personal for the players because it’s a fellow athlete and they know it very well could’ve happened to themselves

I love the genuine/sincere looks on all the players faces for him. Cause even in moments like these. You can always find that one person or people clowning around with a player who could possible facing a career ending injury like this.

Michigan children/highschool sporting events don’t require players to kneel but seeing all these boys on both sides step up to the plate when it wasn’t a brawl was great.
That was classy, Pittsburg. I can’t stand the Steelers, but never want to see a Steeler or any player get wheeled off like that. As a Seahawk fan, I appreciated the support of the Steelers fans.

The last player to have died in an NFL game was in 1971 when Chuck Hughes of the Detroit Lions died of a heart attack in the 4th Quarter against Chicago.
From what I have read, injuries will probably end the sport of football within 50 years or it was vastly changed from the way it is played today. Maybe less contact like flag football or tackle bar football.
It looked similar to Shazier's injury a few years ago. 😟 his whole neck and spine compressed with the angle of the hit. I hope it's not that serious. 🙏

Big Ben has had his issues, but I thought it was pretty cool to see him so close to Taylor the entire time, standing in front of his team and staying until the cart started leaving the field. As someone who has suffered a traumatic head injury it was telling to see Ben so concerned for a player that might have sustained a similar injury to the one he did when he was starting his career.
