Praying hard for every football player young and old. I have a 5 year old son that can’t take his eyes off of football and as his mother I’m afraid to let him act on his curiously of football. ❤
LeAndrew Thomas I'm trying to hold back tears. I didn't know he was injured that badly. Being an Ohio state fan I've watched him for years. Hope he continues to improve.
Ryan, You dedicated your entire life to this sport and when Pittsburgh called on you, you answered that call with pride. Even now, while trying to make sense of it all and while struggling to recover, you still selflessly put others before you and move forward as an awesome role model and your “never quit” attitude has inspired more people than you’ll ever know. I will always love you, Pittsburgh will always love you, and everyone you have inspired will always love you. Keep your chin up, keep putting one foot in front of the other, and never forget...you are ALWAYS in Steelers Country no matter where you go.
Imagine, the Steelers Still to this day, teach their defenders to hurt other players with their helmets. Shazier didn't play like this at OSU, but as a steeler, he led with the helmet, among other steeler defenders constantly. This is the risk of them doing that exact thing.
Incredible, in just a year he’s gone from being paralyzed to jogging and now lifting. Man has incredible work ethic I pray that he’s able to fulfill his dream of getting back on the field again 🙏🏼🙏🏼

That rolling over on his left arm worries me to he didn't seem to feel anything despite the fact that had to be painful with your arm behind u like that rolling onto it. His squeezing his hand is a sad sign that he seemed pretty sure he messed up His back and was seemingly testing if he could move his fingers. Hopefully this is not the case. I hope he's ok.
who else came back to see confirm that this happened before 1/2/2023's Monday night game where a defensive player who played against the Bengals in Cincinnati had a sad and horrific injury?
Bengals fan here, I’m glad to have seen him walking in yesterday game when he was assisting Mason Rudolph. I hate that the injury he sustained was with the bengals. I hate that the rivalry is so strong/ridiculous between the 2 teams. It’s getting old fast. I have seen so many things while working at/for the bengals during these rivalry games. The sad part is, the rivalries with the ravens and browns aren’t as bad or dangerous as this rivalry.
First time I’ve watched this since I saw it live. So unfortunate. I watched him a lot and he lead with his head rather frequently. So unfortunate it had to happen so bad for him. Glad he has recovered well
as cruel as it sounds he did this to himself. He was always hitting like this, even back at Ohio State, was told the danger, and didn't change his ways. Shame to see, but great to see how much progress he's made since.
I watched this hit happened live I was younger and had a bed time unfortunately but my dad let me stay up and see the first five minutes I was so excited because I love watching rivalry games and unfortunately this happened within the first five minutes and I could hardly sleep after that luckily he is ok and doing well now ❤ what a legend
The way he reaches for his back man… I couldn’t even imagine.. that’s just a live football play. How many times we seen dudes do this and hop right back up as nothing happened? The targeting calls people whine about are not to protect the ball carrier but also the tackler. One play ended and amazing football career… I’m glad to see he’s back up and doing better but sadly he will probably never be even 75%
I’m so proud of him, as a Steelers fan, I saw him *WALK* on that stage at the draft tonight to announce one of our new players. He is capable of anything and i know in 2019 he will be right back on that field! 💗🏈 👏🏽
Jiana smith no man. Did u see him walking in August of this year. Very limping and he walks with difficulty. I honestly do not want him back on the football field because he could threaten his life. It’s not worth it, he has his millions go enjoy your life
As a Pittsburgher and a Steelers fan, it makes me so happy how much love he has for the city and the people here. It seems like he is going to continue living here too as I saw him with his family at Kennywood just this past summer. Glad to see he likes it here.
Pats fan here. Love that the Steelers are still paying him and are supportive of his possible return to football. Speaks a lot to the organization. Very happy to see that he is doing well and making improvements everyday. Continued prayers for Shazier!
I cried when I saw this happen. It broke my heart in two. I cried again when I saw him walk again, too. He’s a wonderful man whose career was cut way too short.
I Could cry Everytime i watch this. You are my Favorite Player forever. Much Love from Germanys Steelernation. You dont have to fight for this Love. You re forever a Steeler. God bless you.🖤💛
Shazier was a great lb. What motivation. With that being said, I think he's influenced even more people since he started walking. This athlete and great man, has no quite! GOD bless you Ryan.
Nobody (except for murderers) deserves an injury as bad as this one might be. Just pray that he gets a great hospital and is stabilized ASAP. This is likely the kind of tackle he's made 10 thousand times before without a problem. The body is weird.
Robert Jensen Putting your head down puts more pressure on your spine. You risk anything from a neck injury to a ruptured disk. He felt lowerback pain and couldn't move his legs. He might never walk again.
You never tackle with your head down. Your coaches will scream, about that at you from your first year of poo warner and on. Your head down creates a column and puts all of the force from the hit on the spine. With your head up the force is transfered.
There is absolutely NOTHING funny about this! This was his job just like we have a job and not only a job but his dream job something he has worked all his life for and its most likely over for him. His financial life and everything is hurt. Some of yall are terrible and need to check yourselves
Caleb Sullivan it definitely is not funny, but when you are a dirty player who always leads with his helmet, against the rules and against your personal safety, this unfortunately is going to happen. Watch his hit on Bernard a few years ago, Shazier plays dirty.
in sports there are always dirty players it adds to the game. stfu with that not sorry. we all know its not your dumbass fault. you jusr a bitch made fuck.
Caleb Sullivan You're an idiot. I just read every single comment on here and theres not a single one of someone claiming this is funny. A couple of "karmas a bitch" but that's it. No one is laughing. Can't stand drama queens like you who make shit up. Fucking dumb ass LOL
I immediately thought of Eric LeGrand of Rutgers on this hit, he has had an amazing broadcast career and an inspiration since his injury. Here's hoping Shazier surgery will improve this injury and be able to walk again.
Who else is here after his retirement announcement? Best wishes to his future!

Pats fan here. Love that the Steelers are still paying him and are supportive of his possible return to football. Speaks a lot to the organization. Very happy to see that he is doing well and making improvements everyday. Continued prayers for Shazier!
Same happened to a friend of my brothers in highschool sadly he passed away , Praying for this brother❤
Today he danced at his wedding. God is so good.
Mark Raymond YES HE IS
God? LMFAO you mean the fucking doctors? Fuck outta here with that shit.
Modern medicine is so good. Fixed it for you
Dylan Who hurt you
N L T D TV it’s true lol
Praying for you big guy
Oh man:( that’s insane, it looked like a normal tackle attempt
Joel Roberts lmao ur dumb he tackled head first it was a matter of time when he was gonna get paralyzed
@@bananabro967 these days that is a normal tackle attempt unfortunetly
I cried when I saw this happen. It broke my heart in two.
I cried again when I saw him walk again, too. He’s a wonderful man whose career was cut way too short.
Just saw a video of him dancing at his wedding ! 👍 anything is possible, what an inspiration 🙏💪
Too many injuries this season SMH Hope all of them gets fully healed. This is only a game and your Health is more important.
MDR: These players have never given a thought to their health. They would not be out there otherwise. Playing is their own choice.
Anybody here after seeing that video of his box jump?
Juustiicee _ I am
Hope he’s ok and able to walk again🙏
Jose L. Martinez bro is your car bagged ?
Hitler?
LMAO. Read this and immediately knew there would be people commenting "rapist" as if they didn't get the point.
Murderers?
You never tackle with your head down. Your coaches will scream, about that at you from your first year of poo warner and on. Your head down creates a column and puts all of the force from the hit on the spine. With your head up the force is transfered.
Anyone here after DT vs Steelers ?
Prayers up for him 💯💯💯
Joshua Mckoy it's sad how far I had to scroll down to find a respectable comment. I'm thinking of him
I agree
a great example of what happens when you lead with the head.
I’ll never forget this. This man is pure inspiration now.
What happens when you lead with your helmet. You don’t just hurt other players around you.
After he destroyed cincy in the wild card game it’s kinda funny his career ends in the same stadium
nah not funny
There is absolutely NOTHING funny about this! This was his job just like we have a job and not only a job but his dream job something he has worked all his life for and its most likely over for him. His financial life and everything is hurt. Some of yall are terrible and need to check yourselves
Caleb Sullivan it definitely is not funny, but when you are a dirty player who always leads with his helmet, against the rules and against your personal safety, this unfortunately is going to happen. Watch his hit on Bernard a few years ago, Shazier plays dirty.
His job is specifically not to tackle a mofo with his damn head. His own fault. Sorry not sorry.
in sports there are always dirty players it adds to the game. stfu with that not sorry. we all know its not your dumbass fault. you jusr a bitch made fuck.
Caleb Sullivan
You're an idiot. I just read every single comment on here and theres not a single one of someone claiming this is funny. A couple of "karmas a bitch" but that's it. No one is laughing.
Can't stand drama queens like you who make shit up. Fucking dumb ass LOL
this shit was funny he's weak I tore my ACL the day before this and am already running again
Breaks his spine, still walks on stage for the next draft. Legend.
I immediately thought of Eric LeGrand of Rutgers on this hit, he has had an amazing broadcast career and an inspiration since his injury. Here's hoping Shazier surgery will improve this injury and be able to walk again.
