Petra - "Back Sliding Blues" Live at DuPage Fairgrounds Arena, July, 1976

Captured live in front of 2,000 people when Petra was the opening act for mainstream band, Mason Proffit. This was always the show closer for the original line-up of Bob Hartman (guitar, co-lead vocal), Greg Hough (guitar, co-lead vocal), Bill Glover (drums, harmony vocal), and John DeGroff (bass).Concert mix by Al Hornung. Besides the actual song, which includes an additional harmonizing guitar section by Bob and Greg (37:51-38:30) that was not on the debut album of 1974, there are also solo sections for each member:
39:10 - Bob Hartman solo
42:00 - Greg Hough solo (includes Bach piece with John DeGroff 42:59-43:37)
47:45 - John DeGroff solo
50:20 - Bill Glover solo
The playing of this band put them par with any rock acts of the mid-70s.

I remember mryrr records put out a compilation album of all their artists called jubilation and the studio version of this song was on it. I think they had a clear vision of what the Lord called them to do. The music and message did speak to me as a person who loved rock n roll and was a new Christian.
