Breaking it down by those letter codes is something Ive never even considered.
    It really simplifies it.

I do this all the time and it’s really cool to see someone like Mike Johnston is using it too. And the paradiddle concept is killing it. :)

6 stroke rolls are great for getting around the kit easily. Those of us who were taught with the 26 essential rudiments and played some time in drum corps like Steve Gadd and myself learned this roll usually very early on. Nice instruction!

Once again Mike your video brings far more value than the particular technique or skill you are focusing on. I love how you encourage creativity and exploration and how each of your videos is layered such that it builds several aspects of drumming and being a better person in general. 🙂

Thank you, Mike, for stating how long it takes to get a sticking pattern down to the point of owning it. It ain’t easy and it takes time. Just stick with it!

I was practicing earlier today. I was wondering what is warming up. If I'm going to have a leg day at the gym I squat without weights. I think for the most of the regular drummers these are practicing itself and not warmups. Because we are not playing on the same level as Chris Coleman. We need to do our basics and not just warm up with these rudiments.😊
