The video was spot on, thanks Brian. Funny...I watched bit-by-bit as I completed the steps and sure enough, put the drum back on and found the replacement belt too short. Luckily taking it off and reusing the old belt was quick! I was impressed by the volume of lint in the machine! and, by the belch of lint, toothpicks, collar stays, paper clips, etc. that came out the exhaust when I turned it on to test!
Great video, I have the exact same model dryer and had the EXACT same problem. The tension pulley roller seized just like yours and I had to rip it off with pliers and a screw driver. I took 30 minutes to get it off the roller and I basically broke it into pieces. The roller had seized which made the belt wear out which eventually snapped. Entire repair took 2 hours, first time taking it all apart, and expert could do in 30 mins. Your video was essential in putting the belt back on, on this model it has to be done from the back service door.
These are absolutely wonderful dryers! I have the Bravos 300 electric and it looks identical to the one in the video. Doing a fan belt on mine right now. Thanks for posting vid.
This video is spot on. The belt in my kit was also to short. When I compared them together side by side there was maybe a 3 inch difference in length, if that much. I could not thread the new belt around the motor and tension pulley. The old belt thread just fine, so that is what I went with. Thanks for the video!!!!!!!
Have the exact same model as you , with the same problem.I wouldn't have been able to fix dryer if it wasn't for your video!! Very helpful ! You are a life saver!!
Used this video to help with my repairs. Like others have said my new belt was about 1 - 1.5" too short. Put everything else in and it worked great! Thanks for posting this!!!
Thank you so much! I found that you definitely have to remove the rear panel in order to get at the tension arm roller. It turned out that the only faulty roller in my 2011 Maytag was the tensioner arm roller, so I left the rest of the supplies for a later repair. Could not have done it without you, thank you so very much!
same wheel, took tension off and it did not want to move freely on the spindle, for now to get the clothes dry sprayed it sparingly with motorcycle chain wax, made not to attract dirt. guess it's time to order. thank you good sir
I also had the problem of the belt being too short. However, I remedied this by removing the idler pulley and spring from the arm. Without the spring I could lift the arm higher and then fit the idler pulley on by pushing down on the belt and sliding it onto the shaft. Everything works great now.
mine just started rattling...can I get to the tension pulley with out removing the drum. The noise is coming from back top of dryer. I have the commercial style. Thank you for your time
If your not going to change the belt is it possible to reach in with the top up and change the rollers and change the pulley tension wheel from the back side . I have heard the people can reach in and change them with out removing the drum .
I have a dead animal in my exhaust vent! And a dryer full of dead flies. Barf. Do u know if it's difficult to replace the exhaust vent pipe on this model? Will the dryer parts fall if I remove the back panel? Any advice would be appreciated if u know how exhaust vent is attached to blower/heater?
Extremely Useful! I think my issue is the tensioner as well. Mine isn't ceased up, bet it not snug against it either so it only rubs against it squeaking like a mouse or like a psychotic heard of mice squeaking constantly. About how long did it take?
If you want to check the idler wheel and tension spring it should not take long. just take off the back panel to access it (unplug first), it will be below the drum on the left as you look at it from the back.
I've got a Maytag Bravos MCT Dryer that will dry the lady said I bought from if you run it trth 3 cycles. I haven't plugged it in to see if any codes pop up she said there wasn't any there is a lot of lent down inside of it I can see. Does this sound like maybe just a fuse maybe? How do I even get to the fuse on this. I've watched videos & none are for the machine I have & every one of the videos are different? LOL!!!!!
If you have a properly sized belt, there is enough play in the spring on the pulley wheel to accommodate the belt. But if you got the kit with the slightly too short belt (like I did) it won't fit. I had to reuse the old belt which was a couple inches longer than the one in the parts kit.
Could you tell me which Maytag Dryer Maintenance kit you used in the video? Need to buy one, and not having much luck finding anything on line for the Bravos range
I typed the model number (MEDB800VQ0) followed by the word kit in the google search bar and the first site was this: www.dappz.com/maytag-medb800vq0-dryer-repair-kit-27-inch-wide-dryers-thin-twins-genuine-oem?gclid=CjwKEAiAoOvEBRDD25uyu9Lg9ycSJAD0cnBy1X5sLZoWxtsSE5OgA7QbWsiJPosQXdTaab1vJGQW0xoCDILw_wcB
Thank you for getting back to me, unfortunately they don't ship to Canada, I did find one on Amazon though in the US too, but they ship, so it's on it's way. Your video is very helpful, my brother-in-law will be able to fix it thanks to you ( fingers crossed)!!

Thanks for the help on this! Saved my marriage!
Well done video… nicely explained

Dud, you are a life saver,....LOL. I am having the identical problem on the identical dryer. Thanks again.
By virtue of having this exact kit, they know what exactly what isn’t engineered to last too long. Great video, thanks for sharing.

Awesome video... just used this to fix my dryer with the same exact problem. Couldn't have been more helpful... thank you very much!!
Great video! Repair in progress tonight. Thank you for sharing your knowledge.
Best repair video that I've been able to find - well done!

Thanks to you and the internet for saving me a lot of money
I have the maytag bravos xl dryer medb880bw0 and had the same issue with the belt - the one in the kit was wayyyy too short.
Thanks man. Those 2 little clips were the only thing stopping me.
Thanks. I was going insane trying to get the top off. Now, can you do a vid on how to raise a teenage son?
i guess I'm kind of off topic but does anybody know of a good website to watch new tv shows online ?
@Dangelo Adrian try FlixZone. Just search on google for it :)
@Larry Colin definitely, been using flixzone for since april myself :D
@Larry Colin Thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :) Appreciate it!
@Dangelo Adrian No problem xD
Thank you so very much, great video, helped out so much.
Just a heads up to anyone with the steam model the drum is a little more complex. So I just replaced the tension pulley and that fixed my problem
mine just started rattling...can I get to the tension pulley with out removing the drum. The noise is coming from back top of dryer. I have the commercial style. Thank you for your time

What kit did you buy? And was it off Amazon?
Thanks! Used your video step by step and after fighting with the belt I got to the end of your video and welp...same short belt😖.
Do you have a tutorial on how to change the heating element in this type of dryer?
Thank you, this video helped us quite a bit!
You're awesome. Thank you.
Hi, do you know if the bushing in the idler pulley wheel spins independently inside the wheel or does the wheel spin as one on the shaft? Thanks
I have a dead animal in my exhaust vent! And a dryer full of dead flies. Barf.

Ordered parts... fixed the problem; however, had to use old belt as new belt was about an inch too short
Super helpful video.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you for your video.
Could you tell me that part number for the kit. Thanks

Brian Kamm Yes I did that last night and it looks like that is the problem order the part and a new spring. Thanks again for the video
Big help. Thank You
Hello, once you remove the belt does the drum just lift out? Can you reuse the felt liners or did you have to buy new ones? thanks!
I believe the listing is wrong, The bravos you have is a 29" and the kit is for a 27". I can't find a proper listing for it.
make more videos bro! if you don't know me, I used to be Jacks friend!
What is f1
my drum isn't lifting out very easy, am I missing something?

Can someone explain how to thread the belt back around the tension pulley and motor?

The idler pulley has be revised.

?
ronald nickerson have to take off from panel inside the door panel.

I got the same kit, and the belt too was smaller, were you able to get a different one? If so do you have the part number still?
No, I just replaced the old belt.
you are awesome
How to remove the drum?
you didn't show the most important part and that was how to remove the belt and the drum,
it's true. I would like to see how to remove the drum
.
I hate this dryer it gets dirty as heck but i guess they all do.
👍
Never mind I see
For fuck sake just show how it comes apart. This is maddening.
