Received mine yesterday ordered last Saturday only 6 days to get here to the UK pretty impressive. I ordered the Hulk on the oyster bracelet was really happy with the colour when it arrived the face is a lovely bright Green enhanced I think by the AR coating. No problem’s with crown , bezel alignment or hacking etc. really impressed £53 pounds including taxes in the 11/11 sale.
A screw down crown can easily be lubricated to get rid of encountered grittiness. You can use waxed dental floss to clean and at the same time lubricate the threads and their surroundings. Keep away from non-boring waxed dental floss to avoid surprises like (esoteric scent) oils that might have adverse effects over time on critical parts like waterproofing seals. This DIY trick significantly improved the screw down action of cheap Chinese non-ISO certified and more expensive Japanese ISO certified diving watches for me and other divers, who nowadays generally use these watches as backup tools. I use the SD8205 quartz variant, which serves as a cheap backup timer. For diving use, quartz movements offer added reliability. From personal observations; the Miyota (Citizen) 2115 quartz movements in several SD8205 watches perform at about +4 seconds per month.
I own several Steeldives, including the SD1970 Willard and the black version of the SD1953. Just ordered the Starbucks version. You can’t go wrong with these!!
I've got the hulk on the jubilee. I love it, got it in a sale for $83 with shipping and taxes. The only negative I have is that I'm not a big fan of the Steeldives logo, it has been well applied, but I think its a bit tacky and could be more refined. Other than that, maybe an improved clasp with on the fly adjustment would be nice. Tandorio put glidelock clasps on their dive watches, for even less money.
Great review and good points bought up ive the starbucks and the OG all black and sure is inconsistencies between the two in QC ...My starbucks is flawless yet i had to realign the black OG bezel insert and the bezel movement is not as good either on that one in comparison to the starbucks...But despite that theyre a superb homage in the budget range of subbies....
Great idea to review both bracelets! I was wondering. This watch is tempting as a first sub-styled watch, but you’ve shown quite clearly that it’s a crap-shoot regarding quality. I have one in my cart, but I’m afraid I’ll be too annoyed with the sub-quality features (no pun intended). I think I’ve almost grown out of “good value for money” watches, which is code for “you’ll have to accept cost cutting measures”, which is not to say that there aren’t some true winners on Ali for less than $100. There are, but not many. I don’t think this one is. Maybe it’s close. I appreciate your honest review as there are far too many out there that RAVE about this watch. Maybe it just comes down to the “finer features” such as the hands, but I would think most ppl looking this carefully for a watch are going to want to experience a little luxury! Isn’t that the point?? Flat hands isn’t it!! Maybe this watch is barely good enough, but “Just good enough” shouldn’t get so much acclaim. I’m growing more convinced that people should do themselves a favor (myself included) and spend more time considering $200+ pieces. There are exponentially more choices out there, but maybe not as many UA-cam views hah! Everyone likes a good deal, but let’s start being more honest about what you’re getting. Thanks!
I get a black and starbucks one. They are almost the same but quality control have a lot of job do to; a lot of differences between. But anyway, for 80USD is a good watch to have fun
I ordered two identical SD1953 with black dial and green bezel. I have a different bezel action - identical like your watches. I think that's a some sort of QC differences.
Hi i have exactly 6inches wrist, is it still possible to remove more links on either jubilee or oyster for your 6.2 inches wrist? If is it possible, could you please recommend which variant i should aim for considering my wrist is smaller than yours, i personally want the jubilee, but watching your review make me think again hetting jubilee even tho i want jubilee so bad 😢
Hiya, I would recommend the oyster variant. I just checked mine and there's one more link that can be removed, so it should fit your wrist. It'll probably look a bit big, but I reckon you'll be able to pull it off. Just go for it I say as you won't know until you actually try it on. The watch is pretty affordable, and you can pawn it off if you end up not liking it 😉.
@@watchcrave Thanks a ton. Do you set the micro adjustment on smallest size? And if possible how big is uour wrist width? You are a big help, god bless👌
So I got this exact one 4 months ago with $79, and I have been using it pretty much all the time since then, primarily because of how beautiful it looks. However, there are some serious issues I encountered in my watch. Firstly, the cyclops is crooked. Secondly, the rotor of the NH35 movement doesn't rotate. I noticed that the watch's power reserve didn't last much even though I wore it 8-10 hours a day. So one day I opened the case back, and noticed that the rotor of the movement doesn't move much, even if you move the watch pretty wildly. The watch is too cheap for me to send it back to China. Bottom line, the QC of these sub 100 dollar watch is as non existent as it can be.
I just bought a case back removal tool and fixed an old divers Seiko. It had the same problem with the loose rotor. It would only tick for about 5 or 10 seconds and then stop. My Seiko is genuine, this can happen to any watch.
I thought the black one was called the Hulk and the green one the Kermit. Did I miss something? The grittiness while screwing the crown might come from the movement keeping winding in that position.
It's the other way my friend. All green is hulk while green bezel + black dial is kermit. As for the grittiness, it's not the movement as that's not how an automatic movement works. It's likely caused by bad crown threading.
@@watchcrave Oh ok, thanks for the clarification mate ! Makes more sense Indeed😁. On my Pagani's (all nh35) the manual winding goes on all the way until the crown is fully screwed in, hence my remark. Maybe a tiny bit of silicon oil might help. Perhaps the thread are a bit rough out of the factory Idk. Anyways thank you for the reply brother. Have a blessed day.
That was a great deal, i got mine for $56. You can't beat the quality of Steeldive, I thought Pagani design was good, I still think Steeldive is the has the best specs for the $$$ money!
Just to add, they have listened to someone because they now produce gently curved hour and minute hands that are just beautiful to see up close under magnification. To keep the initial price low I opted for the rubber strap.. I'm 65 and that's not the right look for me, besides it's uncomfortable. So I found an all 904 stainless steel bracelet with the Rolex glide-lock. Man o man the bracelet was steep for me at $19.00 but it sure was worth it.

where did you get it for £53?
Can you advise what's the best place to get it in UK Amazon or Ali exress? Cheers
Brilliant watches ive had mine for three years now and never a problem ,love steeldive.

Yeah the steeldive website says this comes with our AR coating, also if you can get this watch for under $60 it's amazing for that price.
Great Video. I just ordered the Jubilee Bracelet.

just got mine for $54.98 shipped during the 11.11 sale.
I ordered an sd1953 with oysterbracelet. Hopefully it is not too big for me. Nice review, very informative.😊

Mine has the jubilee bracelet and it's a reliable, comfortable and durable watch.
Ya can't go wrong.
I just ordered the Jubilee Bracelet Green with Black Dial.
I think it looks fine on your wrist.
Thank you 🥰.
Personally I think Pagani Design makes the best Sub Homage.

Glad to help. I think I was on hole 3/6 for micro adjustment. I usually wear my watch a bit loose as well. My wrist size is 6.2".

You just need to tighten the tiny screw in the middle of the rotor. This can happen to all kinds of automatic movements.
@@briand312 thanks for the heads up, I'll definitely try it.

Excellent review. Do you know if the cyclops is made in sapphire crystal as well?
Thank you 😊. I believe it is also sapphire.

El mejor color es verde/verde (hulk) o negro/negro?
En mi opinión, negro/negro es el mejor color 😉.
@@watchcrave but you bought the green one....
I had a San Martin Sub homage in black/black, so I bought other colours for Steeldive.
Already I baught for 58€ black basel 👍🏼
Nice one!
whats the weight ???

Just got mine on 4/11/24 for $55.00....

WHY Is it called Starbucks?

Similar colors to the Starbucks logo.
The logo is awful.
