I just got mine recently from my trip to Japan, and I really love it. I bought mine from Tokia + in Tokyo, they’re Kuoe’s official third party partner. I went with the Ivory dial, date complication, and domed sapphire crystal with AR coating. As for straps I went with the khaki nato strap and the black nato strap combo. Next time I go to Japan hopefully I’ll have time to visit Kyoto and purchase a watch from their showroom, I’m looking at the chronograph from their Royal Smith line.

This model is discontinued from what 2 retailers told me. I'm guessing they may replace it with either a new movement (the one with the date at the 4 o'clock) or they may discontinue it altogether and make people buy the more expensive one with the ceramic bezzle insert n better movement. I bought the SPB 151 in early December last year cos one retailer was offering me at 40% discount to the MSRP

I wouldnt be so sure its been discontinued. The seiko website often also has a coming back soon section so it may be there. Or you could be right and were about to get the 6R55 upgrade with 4.5 oclock date and new case (like spb453 etc)

Seiko is doing such a weird game lately.

I love this model but I bought the Spb153 at -40% in France (new). Unfortunately, the insert is not perfectly aligned. You have to know how to make concessions sometimes. Happy New Year to everyone from Normandy.👋

I much prefer this watch without the 3 o clock lume pip as it keep the dial symmetry much better.

I picked one up a few months ago. Randomly asked at a local jewelry shop and they had a brand new Spb151 in box sat unwanted and unopned since at least August 2020. I got 25% off too I wanted to ask if anyone knows if the insert is the same dimension as the SKX?

Good to have you back! Hadn't heard of the 151 being discontinued, but your sources might be more reliable than mine. Looks good on your wrist as well. (BTW, I'm still enjoying my SBDY085 Mini Turtle as my one-and-done diver.)

i bought the hulk for 60 usd. the indices on the dial is not properly aligned and it drive me nuts

Have owned this watch for about 2 years now and can agree with you on the bracelet as well as the crown screw feeling "gritty". I put a very small amount of silicone grease on the crown and it fixed that issue. I love this watch.

Great review and good points bought up ive the starbucks and the OG all black and sure is inconsistencies between the two in QC ...My starbucks is flawless yet i had to realign the black OG bezel insert and the bezel movement is not as good either on that one in comparison to the starbucks...But despite that theyre a superb homage in the budget range of subbies....

I was able to snap one of the non-JDM model SRPC37 on my recent trip to Thailand in an old AD who had some uncirculated, new old stock Seikos, for below retail price. Still can't believe it. I have tiny wrists and this watch wears perfectly (even though, of course, is still a big watch, not a dress watch) thanks to the short lug-to-lug distance and small dial. The crown action in mine is also terrible. At first I thought I was not screwing it in and out correctly, but it seems to be a common problem amongst mini turtles.

These seiko's are beautiful but if they'd only stuck with round lumens

Agree with you about waiting for a great deal before pulling the trigger. Just picked up the 313 as I was looking for a white dial diver. Never liked Seiko bracelets so immediately swapped out for a rubber strap. Great review

I have this exact same model and fits my small wrist just right. Swapped out the bracelet for a black sailcloth strap and it’s perfect.

For all the haters of affordable watches, the “purists” Please check out Davosa and Steinhart. Maybe your little egos will get a better scratch knowing that it says Swiss Made on the dial They’re also Rolex homages and nobody seems to have a problem with them

Why would they discontinue this?

I have the same experience on my vintage GS with the Sedona’s hand not running until I remove the crown and push it back in. I believe it’s a feature, not a bug.

I purchased mine new two weeks ago. As of today, it is one second fast. Not bad for an "entry level movement".

Just ordered this watch today. I became enamoured with military PX base offered watches this year and always thoutht the Willard 6105-8110 was the sucessor to the 1960's 62 MAS but in further researching discoverd the short run slim case 6105-8000 was actually the original suceessor. The SBC317 reissue ticks all the boxes for everthing I wanted which is a slimmed down case height. Alos love the Rolex style drilled through lugs tough. I am not a rubber or NATO strap guy so I'll see if I can locate the Seiko metal bracelet off the SPB 315 or maybe go the Uncle Seiko route. Thanks for the review.

Beautiful watch. Although I personally prefer the 700x case yours is really nice.

You also have the buckle side of the strap on backwards, unless that was your intent… the strap length is so you can wear it over a wetsuit

Not happy at all have the prospex srpe93k and it pics up a 1min almost every hour after 11 day's was 30min in advance...is this normal anyone else having this issue...thanks

Just received mine . Looks awesome everything. , except running 7 seconds fast per minute. I will return it and exchange. If I can just get this time keeping within the range if seiko acceptable Super nice case bezel bracelet. I have a new prospex sbbn bracelet for it .

Funny you have a ghost date on your watch? There's no ghost date on mine. I checked with some other reviews of the watch and they mention that the watch comes with a modded PT5000 with no date and no ghost date. So it's really strange that you have a ghost date?
