A great touch. I really wonder if he thought about doing that beforehand or if he just did it naturally. Such a great wink-drop that "Remember, this is a joke, not a true story." to make it even more cheesy and laid back before the punch at the end.
I searched this video literally just to relive that moment - glad to see others love it too! Similarly love his expression when he sets the story in Maine
I lost it at “I said, alright alright easy”. Love me some Norm MacDonald, it’s good all the way and I have no idea why, then it gets to a tipping point and I never know why!
I think it's just that no matter what he does, he is funny. his delivery, mannerisms, expression, and just the fact that professional comedians can't contain themselves around him; give him this air of legendary commentary. Even the jokes that 'bomb' are gems.
@@albinobeach might be because Conan's team cancelled Norm's appearance on the show a few years back when he made a few comments people got offended by. Wasn't worth being cancelled over, but Norm didn't deserve the backlash he got. Was also upset Conan didn't come to his defense at the time, but business is business I guess. I think they're still friends, but yeah kinda sucks when your friends don't come and help when they need you most
@@Greggery As if Conan has control of who is canceled on the show or not. I don't like him much either and never watch his show, but keep it real. He's just a slob on TV trying to avoid being canceled himself.
Andy will never realize his own bitterness is what continues to keep these jokes legendary. He's like 2000 era Ed O'Neil still POed about being "Al Bundy." Ed O'Neil would only find peace years later as he accepted Al was now part of him, and it was at that moment that he was offered the role for Jay Pritchett, changing his career forever. Andy must have that moment to move forward.
@@jameslutian1977 you guys are really overreacting. Andy loves Norm, he said very clearly that he has loved ones who're gay and he was uncomfortable with the fact that being gay was always the punchline, but he still loved Norm and respected the fact that he was always pushing the boundaries of what was acceptable to joke about. He still plays along with the joke every time, including here with the "I can't stand gay porn" bit. He was just engaging in this thing called *nuance*
I noticed everytime he try to made up stories he will rub his eye which i think is a sign of liar bt still his story telling kind of jokes works every freaking time.
i love how horrible he is. the delivery is bad... the timing is so off. and yet its funny? everything he does is funny because its not. and then when he laughs slapping his knees. it always looked like he was a kid who got told he was going to eat in front of homeless people.
Norm MacDonald literally had the best delivery and timing of any comic ever. Those were his two things that he was like a 99 rating in. But yes, 'bad' and 'so off'. You find it funny, assuming you do, bc it's literally the best in the world among his field.

Norm’s facial expression after he says “weather balloon” is everything

Me too
'"Have you ever met my uncle phil?" Goddamnit, the man knows every angle. Comic genius.

I think the greatest part about norm is his unorthodox style... You don't know what he's gonna do... But you know it's gonna be good
An underrated Norm moment. But only because he had so many great ones
That "Andy has a wife" was such a perfect setup🤣🤣🤣😂

EVERY APPEARANCE IS A CLASSIC MOMENT
Don Rickles and Robin Williams we’re far better guests

Norm never tries to be funny like many other comedians. He is just genuinely and geniusly funny. The greatest one and only.

His crazy stories. I loved it.

I think when God created Norm, He’d just woken up from a really odd dream. The world lost a true legend.
This story makes me think of Richard Gere.
Rest Easy Norm.... You are missed...
THE MAD CHOPPER
Is there an audible farting noise at 5:14 immediately after the comment about Andy having a wife?
No, that's Conan's laugh, it used to make that fart sound back in the day.
He truly was the funniest human being of all time. May be forever rest in peace.

Yeah he brought me a birthday cake once!
