- I purchased a Nikon D7000 DSLR in 2023 and here are my thoughts on which lenses are my favorite and which lenses you should purchase first for your camera. This video focuses on nikon but the same focal length applies to all dslrs and camera brands such as Canon, Sony, Fuji, Panasonic and Olympus

The d7000 in 2022 or 2023 or any of Nikon's dx crop sensor cameras are still a strong viable option to get yourself into photography without spending a fortune on new mirrorless systems like Canon rf and nikon z mount, or Sony e mount. The d7000 is similar in image quality to Nikons full frame cameras like the d850, d750, d810 and d780. just purchased a close to new condition canon 6d recently and nowadays I use it more than my sony a6400...something about shooting on a dslr is more engaging
I still shot regularly using my Sony A900
My favourite lens that i mate it to are all Minolta's
The massively underrated 35-105mm ( f3.5 - 5.6 )
The heavy chunk of glass that is the 80-200 F2.8 APO
And the gem that is the 20mm F2.8 ..
( Which makes a really nice " running gun" 30mm on a crop body )
Yes. Lots of advantages to DLSRs
( even one which doesn't have live view, ie my A900 )

Eh Yo lets go! Still lotsa a DSLR love out there! 35mm 1.8 dx was my favourite lens and made me my first 5 figures in photography! Incredible value!

What about the Sigma Contemporary 16mm F1.4, stellar for Astrophotography…..for the D7000-D7500.
The Sigma, used, is around $330 used on B&H.
