Fascinating! I'm sorry you had such trouble with it - for me (on windows) the Space Mouse so quickly became such an integral part of my workflow that I find it exceptionally hard to NOT be working with it. Also, I'm on Fusion360, which could also potentially impact things.
CAD mice are such a fascinating and kind of underappreciated genre. I'd be interested in more CAD mice or info about how well they are supported on Windows and Linux. Cool video! 😊❤ Also: first 🏆
the 3d connexion devices work seemlessly on intel based Macs. i have had no joy with them on my M3 Mac even in parallels. i purchased a bluetooth space mouse to see if that worked but it doesn't.
Dang :( that's unfortunate. I hope that changes soon because I really enjoyed the hardware! Thanks for sharing this, always good to have this knowledge in your back pocket.
I used this device (a previous model but doesn't look like it changed much) more than 15 years ago now, had high hopes for it but was also much disappointed. For me the fundamental problem was that it has very limited range of movement of the device itself. Mouse and even just a touch pad have a much bigger range, and also take into account the speed/acceleration of the movement, which allows to perform both tiny adjustments and big movements. While this thing with its limited range was either way too slow for big movements or too imprecise for small.
I felt this way as well. I'm sure with enough time and struggle I could find the sweet spot, but it also felt like it would take a really long time to get there, haah.
I use the nonwireless spacemouse for work on M1 and M2 Macs and I have not had problems with the software so far (1 year). For me, it sounds like a problem on the wireless version. I like to use it mainly on fusion360, but on Blender I can live without it.
I am absolutely surprised that 3d connexion is a "Mac second" kind of company. Especially considering the resurgence Mac has been seeing since the m1 Mac mini and macbook pros released. Even more so this year with windows 11 taking a nosedive in favor of Mac and Linux
I think this is where my head was at as well. I just kind of assumed with where the world was at, this wouldn't be my experience. Bummer but I hope it changes soon!
Thank you for this because as someone who designs on a Mac, I was seriously considering the space mouse.
My pleasure!
Underrated UA-camr.
That’s a bummer about the kit. Always love to find new hardware doodas for editing/designing. Dope video man!
Thanks dude!
another great video bro thanks for always giving as an honest opinion
My pleasure dude thank you

One day I'll get on that fusion train...
Thanks for watching dude!

Oooh? 🧐
I always knew you could breathe fire 🙂↕️
I AM FLAMING. DRAGON.
Thanks. Discouraged. Not buying it for my Mac M1.
Sowy :(
