- How to change radio frequencies in Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Skoda cars equipped with MIB Infotainment units. When moving from USA to Europe, from Europe to Japan, or basically from one region to another, you will find that there are many radio frequency standards when it comes to AM and FM frequency range and step. Luckily MIB1 and MIB2 radio tuners installed in VAG cars can be easily coded to a different region and can without a problem work in other countries.
ℹ️ This video shows how it's done in Volkswagen Golf MK7 with MIB2 Discover Media Infotainment unit. But the same procedure should be working in other cars with MIB1 and MIB2 head units: Audi, Seat, Skoda, Volkswagen, Porsche; Discover Pro, Composition Media, Audi MMI, Columbus, Bolero, Amundsen, Porsche PCM4.0
Coding requires diagnostic tool like OBDeleven, VCDS or any other tool that's capable of changing coding and adaptation values in VAG cars control units.

Module 5F → Long Coding → Byte 09 → new value: 11
Module 5F → Long Coding → Byte 09 → new value: 41 (optional)
✅ North America NAR (FM 87.7 - 107.9MHz, @ 0.2MHz)

Pleeeeeease tell me if there’s a way to do the the step change on a Toyota 4Runner head unit in order to receive even numbered stations so the step should be .1 or .05

Is it possible to change frequency range on a MK 7 golf without using an OBD reader ?
If you are retro fitting an european MIB2 unit into a car that had an MIB one you will need to do this and enable the AM toggle to be active on the radio screen, otherwise you will get no sound for radio stations. Just did this myself after I imported a retrofit kit from Poland, that was the only issue I had with the install

Guam and Saipan (both US Territories in Oceania in the Pacific Ocean) also use European 9 kHz AM frequencies unlike The Americas, and FM still odd US frequencies.

How about AM: 531 - 1602 kHz from Europe (9K step) but do they have Australian 531 - 1710 kHz (9 kHz) as well and also Japan 522 - 1629 kHz (9 kHz),?

Yes. Coding and adaptation requires PRO license.

If you use one-click app to do it - yes. If you manually change the coding as I did - no.

There is no PRO version to download. There's only one app, then you log in into your account, and if you bought the PRO license you will have access to PRO features.

65.00 - 74.00 MHz (30 kHz step).
Change from Japanese bandwidth to European? 87,5 - 108,0 ?

HOW ABOUT change AM frequency from 9 kHz for the Netherlands to 10 kHz stepping for the Caribbean Netherlands ??

not working on Audi A4 B8 2014 . Need to change EEPROM. But it's not allowed... Sh*t... :(
Well, A4 B8 is too old for MIB1/MIB2 device. Which system do you have? Because in some it can be done with OBDeleven.
@@mrfixpl I have MMI 3G on my Audi A4 B8. Tried to change a region via OBDeleven Ultimate plan, it's impossible...
Try this:
Connect with module 56 (Radio) > Change Service > Developer mode
Now still in module 56 (Radio) > Long Coding > Radio Frequency > EU
