The joke at the end was about Indiana asking who it was that was investigating it and the guy says, "Top men." But Indiana knows all the experts in this field. Then, you see the crate in a huge warehouse with thousands of identical crates, and you realize the government is just storing it. So you have to think, what the heck else is the government hiding in all those crates?
They're probably storing it until the technology can be developed to research that stuff properly, or they may be safeguarding it until such threats as the Nazis, WWII, and the Communists were no longer an issue to deal with.
And that no one is going to be researching it, be enough trouble trying to find it again
@@Nick_Jarrett it is actually what would really happen with such an artifact. it would be boxed in an underground warehouse later on forgotten filled with crates of papers that while classed top secret is just mundane account records at the end of the day.
I guess it’s even less likely that someone would stumble upon it in there than in Tanis, so that’s probably for the best.
Alien cadavers.
Thanks for showing my suggestion, can't have a list of great movies without Indiana jones
Any time!
Great suggestion
@@jamesc8259 thanks, hopefully since they liked it at some point they'll watch the temple of doom and the last crusade
@@markmuller7962 I thought if they liked the first then they'd be more wiling to watch the 2nd and 3rd. The temple of doom is a bit depressing in a way compared to ark and crusade but then it was designed as such, much like episode 5 of star wars (or so it's been compared to by Lucas or Spielberg). I can't remember if it was lucas or Spielberg who decided they wanted the 2nd movie to be darker, still, since they enjoy indiana Jones it's a no brainer for the future.
I can't see either enjoying the insects in the 2nd seeing their reaction to the tarantulas and snakes
@@Nick_Jarrett Wait is this the first of the series?
The outfit that Beloq wears is what the Hebrews in charge of the Ark would wear when doing rituals with it. The Ark would make an army with it invincible if Jehovah approved of the war and apparently told the priests in charge. Something the Hebrews forgot on the occasions they went to wars that were not approved of. The Ark was basically a nuclear weapon and if mishandled bad things happened.
"There is going to be a storm!" - brother, you have no idea.
I love to see people get introduced to Raiders - one of the greatest adventure films ever. And who hasn't laughed at Indy shooting the swordsman? Movies bring us all together.
Indy was supposed to sword duel in the scene where Indy shoots the man with the sword. Actor Harrison was feeling sick the day it was filmed, and he improvised just shooting instead of the scripted fight. Peace, all
There was a cut scene where the sword went through a piece of meat on the stall of the meat seller behind indy
@@Nick_Jarrett didn't know that!
@@janecrow1122 there's videos on UA-cam of behind the scenes and cut scenes for the original trilogy, it also shows how they did the van carrying the ark scene when indy goes underneath, they had to dig a trench for the stuntman as it was too close a call between him and the bottom of the van
This is a classic thriller action movie. I think they will enjoy all the classics from many genres, because the stories were well told and the pacing was beyond what films achieve these days.
These two wonderful villagers have just watched the greatest adventure movie ever put to film. The are truly Blessed.
He likes space themed movies so it'd be amazing to start the Star Wars series :D (from 4 5 6)
No snakes were harmed during the filming of this movie.
Awesome movie choice. The second movie is alright and the 3rd is amazing. Don't show them anything after the 3rd movie please, they are horrible after that 😂. I really look forward to watching movies with my friends Naveed and Monsoor 😁👍
@guru6831 I love Temple of Doom, a lot. Might be my second favorite. 👌
@@guru6831People from Indian used to considere the second one highly offensive because how they are portraied on that movie, specially the dinner segment, I don't think they will show them that picture.
@@bondrafabaondI am still surprised by that; it is the crazy cult people (Kali) who eat the strange things and are violent psychopaths. The other Indians came across as humble, family oriented people who were honored by Indiana's help in restoring their glory. With so many cultures within America that act differently, I brushed it off as an indication that something was wrong with Pankot. Of course, I don't try to dismiss or try to tell anyone else how to feel about something; feelings don't work like that.
The older I get, the more I love Temple of Doom. I like how in the series, it stands out as a separate adventure for Indy; as though he could adapt and be ready, researched and prepared for another trip to unapologetically shove evil out of the way to "win", not simply tied to war efforts of Germany. Indiana Jones is inspiring.
@@kennypitts4829 For indians Khali is not an evil goddess so they were offended by how it was portraied. The people who eat stranges things in the dinner scene are not thuggies or members of the Khali cult, they are ordinary indian people and the were offended how their gastronomy was portraid and they didn´t like the movie mkes humor show them as people who eats rude and disgusting things. And considering their past where they were colonized by the white man, they don´t feel too much simpathy for a film where a white man mesiah saves their children from evil forces. I supose they see whte man paternalism.
Just try to put yourself on this people place. Imagine an indian director depicting America where people eat living cockroaches and snakes and where Jesuschrsit cult is an evil one that makes human sacrifices or torture like on the Inquisition times. What do you think Americans would like that movie?.Specially on the Bible Best area.
Basically according to wikipedia, was that the spirits were "they closed their eyes and looked away from the Ark, symbolically showing proper respect, and were spared from the wrath of God"
Love seeing genuine first-time reactions to films that I've watched and enjoyed so many times over the years. Now please show them "RRR" for a mind-blowing experience.
The ending was most appropriate. What do you do with something so powerful and deadly? Lock it up so no one will ever find that nightmare box again. We keep all nightmares in the basement. It's an old vice, but prudent. The cure for golfing, the original recipe for egg salad, an alien skull, time displacement equipment.....things like that.
I wonder if the guys would be interested to know that the same actor played Sallah, Indy's Egyptian friend, Gimli the dwarf, & Treebeard the Ent.
The 10 Commandments were carved on stone and after 5000 years they turned to sand👍
20:02 I don’t know why but I just thought what an INTERESTING reaction they would have to “Ms Doubtfire” with Robin Williams 😮😮😮
Satisfying reaction. I saw this movie in theaters. I was about 11 years old and to me everything was real back then.
It might have already been mentioned here, but the actor who played Salah [John Rhys Davies], is the same actor who played Gimli the Dwarf in the Lord of The Rings trilogy; he also voiced Treebeard too.
The Ending is the irony of finding the Ark. It was found only to be lost again, in bureacracy, red tape, and a sea of boxes, never to be found again.
Watching villagers react to these modern classics always makes me smile. It’s almost as if I’m watching it for the first time, myself! Thoroughly enjoy your reaction vids!
One of the best movies of all time! Love watching these again for the first time through the guys' eyes!
National Treasure is an excellent movie that's kinda like this. It's a great movie too.
Very interesting that the guys reacting ti this movie used the word "Tabot" for the Ark of the Covenant, which is the same word in Ethiopian. Many people believe Ethiopia is the actual real resting place of the Ark today.
The homeward bound films, secondhand lions... The Cinderella Man, Gran Torino, up, unforgiven, Driving Miss Daisy, the blind side, good will hunting, Mamma Mia!,Aladdin(1992), The Princess Bride(1987)
Indiana Jones is a great series, full of intrigue and adventure. I think you'll like the second and third installments as well.
I think you guys might get a kick out of "Crocodile Dundee" and "Romancing the Stone", both of which are 1980's action comedies with, yes, a romantic element. I prefer action, but somehow with these movies, the female part helps balance the story with added challenges.
The second film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom chronology takes place a year before Raiders of the Lost Ark.
They’re reaction was so fun. Probably how a lot of people reacted seeing this movie when it first came out.
I was thinking they’re next reaction should be Ghostbusters. Great classic that I hope they would enjoy
The gentleman on the left is Pedro Pascal's doppelganger. 👌 Love these reactions. Classic movies and genuine enjoyment. I wish I could enjoy these again for the 1st time like this.
Watching this made me smile 😁 They would probably also enjoy ‘The Mummy’.
I cant wait for the 2nd one!! I just wish these reactions could be longer. Even if you have to blur a few seconds of the movie here and there to extend the overall time. 40-45 mins would be amazing!
The man in the black outfit with the sword practiced for months, Harrison Ford said I have a gun i,ll just shoot him changed the whole scene!
Yeah he was ready for his big scene and then Ford got the idea to just shoot him.
I love watching these videos - such genuine reactions. I kinda wish I could selectively wipe my memories of movies like this and watch them afresh with the same feeling of awe and wonder I must have felt the first time I saw it.
Subscribed. The person who edits these uploads, does so with style and panache. 1st class effort!
Don't like Insects?. Mansoor is gonna love Indiana Jones 2. The Temple of Doom :)
Lmao 😂 “feel like I step on fortune cookies”
"Lost in the world of cinema." He's got the spirit!
They get a lot, despite the culture differences. The one major aspect I DO think was lost of them in this case was the meaning of the very end--that the Ark wasn't being hidden among those other crates as much as that those other crates were likely filled with similar secrets that the US government hoarded away.
Another great one! This was the first move I ever took my parents to, after I got my first job. Mansoor and Naveed just didn't have time to relax, did they? 😁 They have such wonderful reactios! Indiana Jones Parts I to III are some of the best ever. I wasn't that impressed with IV; haven't seen V. Part II is actually set before the first movie, which is good to know. Part III is set after Part I.
I don't know if I'm going to watch Alien with you. That scared tne heck out of me watching it on cable TV at home! My husband loved horror moves, but I'd much rather read horror than see it.
Friendly as always, those two!
"There appears to be somwthing miraculous inside the box" -the Philistines (probably)
Nothing is more Holy than the Arc. It is GODs own writing.
I wish I could see the old man reacting to this one. He's the best.
How about the movie called … A league of their own. It’s about women’s baseball in United States during World War II.
"He worked hard to earn it" - they didn't seem to have a problem with recovering another culture's ancient artifact!! ;)
the legendary 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) they may enjoy for the groundbreaking cinematography and very optimistic view of how space travel would enfold. In fact the moon surface segments since it was filmed prior to the moon landings fueled the claims the moon landings were faked. One of the most known segments was due to the author of the novel seeing a demonstration of the first computer ever programmed to sing a song which took place in 1962
I feared it might be a little out of their understanding as it is very much left up to the viewer to understand what's going on, for example I can't see them understanding the monolith and I thought an hour later they'd still be wondering what's going on and why it's switching scenes
Still, a great movie. I recommended it to my friend who's scared of the empty vaccuum of space and he enjoyed it
I think if it's explained to them beforehand in the right way, it could be a good choice.
Meh, I saw that in the theater when it came out. My dad was a huge SF fan, but after we'd sat through it he just started laughing. He thought it was a complete ripoff. No one understood the ending. I read the book when I was older, and thought, "OK, the child was blowing up orbiting nukes? Huh." Still didn't make much sense, even considering they were more or less writing the screenplay and novel in sync. Some events were different from the other in each, which didn't help any. And in the theater, the psychedelic show segment went on waaay too long.
Reminded me of a live performance of In A Gadda Da Vida I saw some years later. With a backdrop on the stage that ran something remarkably similar. For the 20-minute drum solo. And that was without having any herbal help to bear it.
Parts of it were interesting, and certainly HAL is an enduring character, but it's such a mishmash. It's like a couple of hours spent on pondering the question, "Why are we here?" Seriously? Who cares? You're here, alive; so live.
I can't wait to see Indian villagers watch Temple of Doom. lol
Glad to see the scene with Indy and the sword fighter in the market is funny in any language.
Lol yes it is.
You guys reaction was great. You helped me see the movie through new eyes. Thanks.
Slight correction at the very beginning of the video. Indiana Jones only consists of three films. 😂✌️
The scene at 9:51 was supposed to be a big fight scene. But Harrison Ford was very sick with dysentery so they filmed it with Ford shooting him instead.
not just fever it was dysentery and over 150 members of the crew got it from eating the local food
@@toomanyaccounts omg you’re right lol. that’s way worse. I’ll edit my comment lol. I dunno why it was just a fever. Thank you
You have showed them the best if the best so far... and I'm really enjoying it.. thank you
They'd probably relate to the second movie much better.
I’m guessing they are watching a couple movies a week and I have to say they are the two best film critics ever. The looks on their faces kills me and I can see they really are enjoying their new job as film critics. Thankyou for coming up with this and picking the two best on the planet.
I would like to recommend '13th Warrior" (1999), ' Robin hood Prince of thieves' (1991) and 'Dragonheart' (1996)
Brilliant reaction from these two guys. Now I'm gunna have to watch some more.
You picked a great movie to watch and I enjoyed watching it along with you.
In the crypt scene with the snakes, they had bought 2000 from pet stores but found it wasn't enough so Spielberg ordered 4000 more so the floor would be covered
plus the snakes weren't cooperative hence going to the heat instead of away from it. Also I doubt the king cobra came from a pet store
@@toomanyaccounts Some cobras as defanged but not the one in this film, because they had to put up a clear sheet of perspex to protect the actors in the close shots.
I am VERY interested in their reaction to Temple of Doom haha!
the end scene, Indiana Jones knew that as long as he and mirruim kept their eyes closed they will be safe.
as the saying goes the eyes are the window to your soul ,as for the rest off the villains their fate was sealed
the minute they looked upon the Angel's they went through their souls not one was pure off heart .
then they turn into demons ,they scream in terror as they knew they where going to hell..they went up to the sky ,judge and sent to hell.
a bit like when lots wife turn round to look at the city off gomorrah she turn into salt.
Nice, I also believe that it also means that if you see the face of god you shall die. Touching the Ark can only mean death....well except for David.
@@debbieverret4033 yes I agree ,
looking at it will mean certain death,
a one way ticket to hell
I like the bit when leather nazi scream in terror those seconds going through his mind
knowing he's definitely going to hell the other nazi froze in terror unable to scream but known what's about to befall on him.
to late to confess and atone for their sins.
Love your reactions. So thoughtful and real. May I suggest Schindler's List as a movie to watch.
It just shows a great movie is gets a strong reaction no matter who watches it
*It is said that if the Ark of the Covenant is opened and looked upon by those who want it only for greed or evil, they will be destroyed. Only those pure of heart and with true love inside will not look upon the sacred, so withstand what is inside.*
On a historical sidenote: The plot isn't as far fetched as it might seem at first. I don't mean the end, but the Nazis hunting for supposedly powerful artifacts - that was actually a thing. They actually had a special department "Ahnenerbe" (Ancestor-heritage) led by Heinrich Himmler who believed in a bunch of esotheric and occult nonsense. Their main mission was to find proof that the "Aryan nordic German race" was culturally superior to all other people (or f they couldn't find proof they were to make it up) and possibly even the direct descendants of the people of "Atlantis".
But due to Himmler's beliefs they didn't just focus on this kind of pseudo-science, they indeed also tried to find whether mythical objects that were said to have supernatural powers were real and could bve used by the Nazis - or if not that at least have strong symbolic value that could be used by the propaganda. Things like the Holy Grail, the Spear of Destiny or the Ark. As far as I know not too many people outside of Himmler's inner circle even believed in this kind of stuff, but he was the 2nd in command so they let him do what he wanted.
One thing they, for example, did was to travel to India and Tibet to find proof for the existence of an "Indo-Germanic" culture they believed to have existed at some point, a predecessor both of the people of India and the Germanic "race". Now, in linguistics there actually seems to be an ancient common ancestor of today's Indian and the Germanic languages (German, Dutch, English to a degree) - buuut that doesn't actually mean there once were "Indo European" people. As far as we know they never existed.
Thanks so much!!!!!
I love the big bang theory's take on this film. Same thing would have happened whether Indy was there or not.
Oh hell yeah! I Love this movie!!! Good Choice!💖
Please, if it’s possible, show them Overboard (with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell). These guys love to laugh. If they would like scary and suspenseful, show them Misery (with Kathy Bates and James Caan). Another time period movie that is fantastic is The Help (with Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer).
Since they like the space movies so much I'm thinking they have to watch the "Star Wars" movies.
Where is the drink and popcorn
No animal is ever harmed during the making of any Hollywood movie..You Guys know that right?? It's all fake and stuff..it's important to me that you know this!!!! 💖💖💖

@@toomanyaccounts Hahahahaha hahahaha hahahaha
I saw this when I was a young tween with my older brother and at the end what I got from it was God over time turned the Ten Commandments tablets into sand and he sent not necessarily evil spirits but Angels of Death to Kill the Nazis! It freaked me out at first but then I was like “Yeah they Deserved to Die!” 🙄🤨😉
Really good action movies of the 70s. Like the poseidon adventure or earthquake, there are some really good movies out there. You might want to go back to some in the seventies
I just saw y'all's reaction to "jaws". The movie was interesting to watch as a kid. Thank u for sharing. Y'all reaction was real. Enjoyed it. Can u do a reaction to 'The Color Purple'? It's a very timeless classic.
Noted your suggestion
They might not be ready for The Color Purple? Use discretion as it has some really disturbing parts, especially if they have any women who have survived abuse. It's a great movie though.
Classic, genre defining movie. Correction though, there's 3 of these movies. The last 2 don't count. 😂
But on Google they are showing 5
@@Cinephilesreact786 the first 3 are iconic movies. The last 2 were made 30 years later and are so terribly made that they shouldn't count. They don't have the same feel. They might as well be a whole new series of movies.

So wonderful seeing there reaction! Not sure if they have see: Saving Private Ryan or Schindler’s List yet?
Anyways, keep up the fantastic channel!
The snakes and skeletons won’t let me sleep either❤
Can I make a suggestion?
Please let them watch the "Goonies" and all parts of "Back to the Future".
I love to see someone without the knowledge of western films or series to experience them for the first time.
This two gentleman are wonderful to see their reactions. Keep it up 🤗
Another great selection!
There's many great movies.
Funny started these young fellas on a couple scary ones.
You should have them watch
Forrest Gump.
Then Twister, then Maximum Overdrive.
The ending implies the ark will be lost among all those boxes.
I wish they could react to the 1946 "The Yearling". It's less action, but is so good. This drama focuses on the family of Civil War veteran Penny Baxter, who lives and works on a farm in Florida with his wife, Orry, and their son, Jody. The only surviving child of the family, Jody longs for companionship and unexpectedly finds it in the form of an orphaned fawn. While Penny is supportive of his son's four-legged friend, Orry is not, leading to heartbreaking conflict. Fiction
I'm just curious. When Indy started explaining The Ark at the beginning of the movie, why did you cover up their faces? What was their reaction?
Thanks for posting this, I really appreciate your reactions. Ever since The Green Mile
glad you like the movie.
Raiders of the Lost Ark is about as perfect of a movie as you can get. Honestly, the visual filmmaking alone, you could watch this movie on mute and still follow along just fine!
Another truly great western film set in the Middle-East is 'Lawrence of Arabia'. It is based on the true life story of a British officer who united the Arab tribes to fight the Ottoman Empire in World War 1.
A good movie, a bit sad though, knowing what's happened and then going back in time leading up to the events. How the great eventually fall
Please please please show Braveheart to the guys.
I think they might enjoy Cliffhanger as well
Too bad you can't just put a dim light just over them to capture their reactions and leave the rest of the room dark. It would enhance their experience! It would be well worth experimenting with the lighting.
I just discovered this channel - its fantastic! It would be interesting to see the reaction to a goofy comedy like Step Brothers or Dumb and Dumber sometime.
Hahaha oh man we watched this only in the movie theaters as kids .. we all wanted to be like Indiana jones .. we bought whip
If they both like space movies, may I suggest both 2001: A Space Odyssey and The Martian for them to watch. Both of them are very different but wonderful.
Watch them all!
