It has been said before by those who know music that Noble’s band from 1930-34 produced probably the BEST pop music ever...I’m certainly no one to argue. Modern technology permits us once more to get in this musical time machine...we’re so lucky!
I entirely agree with you about Al Bowlly. I have loved his recordings for many years. (I also appreciate your knowledge of grammar, something becoming rarer by the day.)
That's the best version of "Tear Drops" ever recorded, surely - the entire version just sparkles, as does "Shout For Happiness" (which I'm happy to say that I have!) Another fabulous set, with of course aces sound quality. Bravo, Roger...
Trumpeter Jack Jackson assisting with scat on 'Sunny Days'. He supplied some fine gibberish on Jack Hylton's records too. Fine selection again.... many thanks!
All 8 songs are beautiful, but it really strikes me how much difference Bowlly's vocals make. He really lifts a song up to another level! And I think the band feels that too, they're just that bit more engaged.
I still think Teardrops is superb, even without the great Bowlly! It's all a joy...if only the arrangements had been preserved...unbelievable to us today that this amazing music was once almost seen as ephemeral.
Teardrops - 0:00 Shout for Happiness - 2:29 Harmony Heaven - 4:57 Sunny Days - 7:17 Got a Date With an Angel - 9:43 Just Imagine - 12:12 The Moment I Saw You - 14:57 Have a Heart - 17:46
Voice from Germany. Haven't visit your site for some months and I am not so what impressed about your new publishings. You are heard! Not only in America! In Germany as well! Very best regards!
Thanks for the correction. Now that you say it is O'Connor, I can hear his voice clearly. Unfortunately, I can't change the graphics, but it is now noted in the song list.
It says the vocalists are Al Bowlly and Jack Plant, but I could not detect Jack Plant's voice on any of the songs. Did he do any vocals on this selection ? Wonderful selection from one of the great bands of that era.... Al Bowlly was on fine form, and I particularly liked his vocal rendition on "Shout For Happiness". Thanks for uploading.
@@Prozoot : Thanks for clarifying that. I could clearly detect the rich & trained voice of 'Cavan O'Connor', the expressive & distinct voice of 'Al Bowlly', and a new singer to me 'W. Vernon'.
have a huge collection of Deweys 91.7 WMSE have recorded every show since 1979, in 2003 they went to archives~ you can clean up my MP3's could send you a RAW show or my condensed favorites, have both, do not have every song, but some that you couldn't possibly have, not in the 78 format~ anyways an email and will grant you at least a starting place for these sacred songs~ will try to find an email connection, sir~
Got a date with an Angel and I really feel to be in Paradise....
Superb!thank you!!!

Totally agree - superb quality, often sublime music. Just listen to Teardrops....glorious. Popular music never got better.
@@PiccDan You're quite the smart one
@@AveryLakota???
@@PiccDan lost in translation probably
@@JustABowlOfCherriesHopefully so! I didn’t think my comment was particularly ‘smart’.
"The Moment I Saw You " is one of those PERFECT Noble/Bowlly collaborations .
Настоящие люди. Супер. Благодарю.
Thanks so much for this great selection of favourites, with five by Al Bowlly of whom I am a big fan.

Al Bowlly was and remains the king of crooners.
My nightstand hero :)
Terrific set -- love the Noble band. Nice to hear these hot ones.
208th like! Thanks for sharing. You have a wonderful channel, by the way!
Prozoot never fails. Great grooves!
LOVE 💗JACK PLANT! Feel like I am dancing the night away at the Savoy!⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Another wonderful collection of recordings! Thank you for generously sharing from your collection of rare gems!
Great
Maravillosos Noble y Bowlly , como siempre...Gracias por subirlo.

Thanks for that observation -- I agree completely. When Bowlly is singing, the side turns to gold.

What a nice group unlike what you see today with long pony tails and beards in shorts with flip flops . Today is LOSS OF PRIDE IN DRESS

The vocalist on 'Just Imagine' is Cavan O'Connor.

....the Jack Plant credit was an error that I carried over from the Rust books. The real singer is Cavan O'connor as indicated in the song list.
