His bibliography is so vast and wide ranging. I was not aware of his adult fiction until someone at the channel suggested them to me. I had only read all of his children's classics up until recently, but now beginning to work through the adult fiction. If you want serious macabre, check out 'The Swan' but be warned.
@@lewiskirk8289 The Swan is horrifying. Ive seen The Tales of The Unexpected episode of this story. May i ask where you're from Mr Kirk. You have such a distintive accent.
@@lewiskirk8289 Yes, I've already heard your reading of The Swan. Quite gruesome. LOL. One of my favourites that I've listened to is the Mildenhall Treasure. Also "Boy" , "Going Solo" etc. i.e. the ones of his own childhood, then working overseas and then his years as a pilot in the war.
I can only imagine what the visual representation of that story would be like. Horrifying is probably the best term to describe it! I grew up in a place called Harrow, which is just outside of London (North West London). I have been told by many people that my accent is quite distinct. Some people say South African, some say Australian. I don't know how it came to sound the way it does. Probably to do with where I grew up.
Yes, those ones are great! I love autobiographies in general and so of course those two books about Dahls life are awesome. I'm currently reading a biography of Aldous Huxley which is really eye opening.
Thanks Lewis. I'm re watching Tales of the Unexpected and then reading or listening to the actual story(if you've done It!) Interesting how the TV adaptations vary a bit from the novels. With this story they had the car reappear again at the end. Have you watched the TV series?☺️👍
I brought the complete collection of Tales of the unexpected some time ago, but am yet to watch any episodes. There’s seems to be some resistance to getting into them. Maybe because I love the stories so much.
Hi Lewis I love when you read books for us keep up the good work maybe you could try Michael morpurgo Alone on a wide sea thank you. You are my favourite youtuber
Louisa needs to get out of the country if she thinks she's a rare specimen for enjoying classical music lol. Although she must be fantastic at piano since she's playing without concentrating on her actions at all. All the while shes making a cheese soufflé while Edward was busying himself with a cat flambé 😂
You are certainly dedicated to Roald Dahl, and I have listened to many of his stories read by you. A pity with this one, your pronounciation of the names of composers and musical terms is not quite right. You could have used UA-cam to check the correct pronunciation before recording.
Thank you so much for your fantastic readings of these amazing Roald Dahl stories. As a professional musician, I particularly enjoyed this one. However… a few musical terms were mispronounced: Fugue = Fyoog Scherzo = Skirtzoh Chopin = Show-pan Don’t mean to be the AH, but just for the future. Thanks again for your fantastic work!
I’m glad you enjoy the readings, and thanks for the feedback! There are many many mispronounced words throughout the AudioEbooks. Most of them, unfamiliar words I’ve not encountered before and just take a chance with. Thanks for updating my vocabulary 😉🙏
I have this text for a reading test tomorrow, you’re a savior💯
Happy to help
